There are many movies that usually have a lot of publicity allowing many people to see them, but there are other movies that go unnoticed or are not taken into account because they have not had a big campaign, but that does not mean they are bad and this is the case of the movie I want to talk about today, so welcome to a new review. This time, I want to talk about a movie that was never given the importance it deserved (at least in my opinion) and that is a gem in every sense and this movie is called "9", let's start with the review.

This movie was released on September 9, 2009 (a curious fact if you look at the date, is that it was released on the ninth day of the ninth month of 2009) is an American animated production that belongs to the genre of action and adventure. The plot of this movie is one of the most interesting as far as animated movies are concerned, here we will meet our protagonist "9", a doll that upon coming to life discovers that he is in a post-apocalyptic world where humans have become extinct, but there are other beings like "9", who live hidden to avoid being hunted by the machines that dominate the world, but "9" decides to fight.
Let's talk about what happens in the movie, the movie starts with some human hands building what seems to be a kind of doll, while doing so, a voice tells us a hint of what happened, the voice mentions how humanity had so much potential, but did not know how to take advantage of those gifts or the intelligence they possessed and the constant idea of improving technology to improve life ended up making this become the doom of it, making the world die, but life must go on, once the voice finishes talking, the doll is ready, it has a 9 on its back and then a talisman shines, starting the movie.

The doll we saw at the beginning is hanging, then it falls and we discover that it now has life, it inspects itself a little, then stands up and goes to the talisman, observes it a little and when he looks down, he sees a lifeless body of a man. "9" opens a window and observes how the world is destroyed, only small traces remain of what was a civilization long ago. "9" keeps the talisman inside himself and decides to go out to investigate a little, when suddenly, a light approaches in his direction, "9" hides and tries to defend himself from whatever that light is, but discovers that it is actually another doll quite similar to him, this one is called "2", who assures that he should not be afraid of him and can consider him a friend.

"9" cannot speak, so "2" helps him and takes him to a place where after looking for some pieces he reprograms "9" a little, getting him to speak, "9" shows the talisman to "2" and he is happy, but quickly becomes alert and asks "9" to hide, he does it and quickly appears a kind of machine-beast which attacks "2" in a brutal way and lets himself be caught so that the machine-beast does not do anything to "9" and also takes the talisman with him. "9" is left alone and ends up fainting, but in the distance, there was someone else watching him.

"9" wakes up after a few hours and finds the surprise of another doll called "5", who fixed our dear friend "9" a little bit, but this is joined by another doll called "1", who seems to be the leader and is upset with "5" for disobeying him, besides not knowing where "2" is, so "9" tells him what happened and "1" simply leaves him for dead. Here appears another doll called "8", who is a kind of bodyguard of "1". Here "1" tells the story to "9" of how the humans were in a war against the machines and lost the battle, making everyone extinct, leaving alive only the machine-beast and the dolls, who were "1", "2", "3", "4", "5", "6", and "7" but both were hunted by the machine, leaving only "1", "2", "5", "6" and "8" alive and now they are joined by "9", who really wants to rescue "2", so he convinces "5" and both embark in search of "2" in the lair of the machine-beast.

I hope you have understood in the best way a little of the story, the rest would be to tell you spoilers and it is not what I like to do, I like that those who are interested in the film can enjoy it, so from this point I will start with my opinion about the film and I will do it with the story, which if I am very honest, I think it is an incredible story, a deep plot, with a lot of meaning in it, so many messages to discover and it has a very well worked storyline of everything that happened, so from the beginning it ends up calling your attention and making you want to discover what really happened and what is the reason for these dolls to be alive.
The type of animation is very good, the way the post-apocalyptic scenarios are designed, the symbology that is also very used to show certain things if you are one of those who are attentive to everything, the detail of the characters, everything in general is completely perfect in the animation and I consider that this really gives a different essence to the film from any other, I had not been so interested in the animation of a film until this moment and believe me it does not disappoint and adding this to the story, everything fits perfectly.

The message of the film is undoubtedly one of the strongest presented in an animated film and I do not say this because it is controversial or anything like that, it is more because of how real it could be, it has nothing fantastical and it is a great teaching in many ways of how humanity tries to find what it considers the most important, when really the most important thing is what is being lost in that search. Honestly the film is a constant reflection of the world and humanity, so, if I am honest, if you want a movie to have fun for a while, this is not the right film, here you have to be quite attentive to the story to understand it as best as possible.
I think it is somewhat evident that this is not a film for all ages, clearly a child can see it, but I am sure that many of the things that happen will not be able to understand them at all and the film touches many issues of life, such as death, hopelessness, sadness and loneliness, but not everything is bad, the development of it gets a very interesting ending, so as I mentioned, the message is extremely incredible, so if you have the opportunity to see the film, I highly recommend it, it is a film that has no waste.

I conclude by saying that, I think this is a very underrated film, I think it was not given the support it deserved at the time, because even more than ever, its story is current and I think it is superior to many of the current releases, but clearly everything is a matter of taste and I understand that not everyone wants to see a movie that seems to be full of only negative things, but therein lies its magic, if you decide to see it, you will end up surprised by all that a film and a very well told story can teach you. Hay muchas películas que suelen tener mucha publicidad permitiendo que muchísimas personas puedan verlas, pero hay otras películas que pasan desapercibidas o no son tomadas muy en cuenta por no haber tenido una gran campaña, pero no quiere decir que sean malas y este es el caso de la película de la que quiero hablarles el día de hoy, por lo que sean bienvenidos a una nueva reseña. En esta oportunidad, quiero hablarles de una película que nunca se le dio la importancia que merecía (al menos en mi opinión) y que es una joya en todo el sentido y esta película se llama “9”, empecemos con la reseña.

Esta película estrenada el 9 de septiembre del año 2009 (un dato curioso si se fijan en la fecha, es que se estrenó el noveno día del noveno mes del año 2009) es una producción estadounidense animada que pertenece al genero de acción y aventura. La trama de esta película es una de las más interesantes en cuanto a películas animadas se refiere, aquí conoceremos a nuestro protagonista “9”, un muñeco que al llegar a la vida descubre que está en un mundo postapocalíptico donde los humanos se han extinguido, pero existen otros seres como “9”, quienes viven escondidos para no ser cazados por las maquinas que dominan el mundo, pero “9” decide luchar.
Hablemos de lo que sucede en la película, la misma comienza con unas manos humanas construyendo lo que parece ser una especie de muñeco, mientras lo hace, una voz nos cuenta un indicio de lo que sucedió, la voz menciona el cómo la humanidad tenía tanto potencial, pero no supo cómo aprovechar esos dones ni la inteligencia que poseían y la constante idea de mejorar la tecnología para mejorar la vida terminó haciendo que esto se convirtiera en la perdición de la misma, haciendo que el mundo muera, pero la vida debe continuar, una vez que la voz termina de hablar, el muñeco está listo, tiene un 9 en su espalda y luego un talismán brilla, dando comienzo a la película.

El muñeco que vimos al principio está colgado, luego éste cae y descubrimos que ahora tiene vida, éste se inspecciona a si mismo un poco, luego se levanta y se dirige hacia el talismán, lo observa un poco y cuando dirige su vista hacia abajo, ve un cuerpo sin vida de un hombre. “9” abre una ventana y observa como el mundo está destruido, sólo quedan pequeños rastros de lo que fue una civilización hace mucho tiempo. “9” guarda el talismán dentro de sí mismo y decide salir a investigar un poco, cuando de pronto, una luz se acerca en su dirección, “9” se esconde e intenta defenderse de lo que sea esa luz, pero descubre que realmente es otro muñeco bastante parecido a él, éste se llama “2”, quien asegura que no debe temerle y puede considerarle un amigo.

“9” no puede hablar, por lo que “2” le ayuda y lo lleva a un lugar donde luego de buscar unas piezas reprograma un poco a “9” consiguiendo que este pueda hablar, “9” le muestra el talismán a “2” y éste se alegra, pero rápidamente se pone alerta y le pide a “9” que se esconda, éste lo hace y rápidamente aparece una especie de máquina-bestia la cual ataca a “2” de una forma brutal y se deja atrapar para que la máquina-bestia no le haga nada a “9” y también se lleva consigo el talismán. “9” se queda solo y termina por desmayarse, pero a la distancia, había alguien más que le observaba.

“9” despierta luego de algunas horas y se encuentra con la sorpresa de otro muñeco llamado “5”, quien arregló un poco a nuestro querido amigo “9”, pero a esto se suma otro muñeco más llamado “1”, quien parece ser el líder y se encuentra molesto con “5” por desobedecerle, además de no saber dónde se encuentra “2”, por lo que “9” le cuenta lo sucedido y “1” simplemente lo da por muerto. Aquí aparece otro muñeco llamado “8”, quien es una especie de guardaespaldas de “1”. Aquí “1” le cuenta la historia a “9” de cómo los humanos se encontraban en una guerra contra las maquinas y perdieron la batalla, haciendo que todos se extinguieran, quedando con vida sólo la máquina-bestia y los muñecos, quienes eran “1”, “2”, “3”, “4”, “5”, “6”, y “7” pero ambos fueron cazados por la máquina, quedando sólo “1”, “2”, “5”, “6” y “8” con vida y ahora se les suma “9”, quien realmente quiere rescatar a “2”, por lo que convence a “5” y ambos se embarcan en busca de “2” en la guarida de la máquina-bestia.

Espero que se haya entendido de la mejor forma un poco de la historia, el resto sería contarles spoilers y no es lo que me gusta hacer, me gusta que quienes se interesen por la película puedan disfrutarla, así que a partir de este punto empezaré con mí opinión sobre la película y lo haré con la historia, la cual si les soy muy honesto, me parece una historia sumamente increíble, una trama profunda, con mucho significado en ella, tantos mensajes por descubrir y que tiene un hilo argumental de todo lo ocurrido muy bien trabajado, por lo que desde un principio te termina llamando la atención y queriendo descubrir realmente lo que sucedió y cuál es el motivo de que estos muñecos estén vivos.
El tipo de animación es muy bueno, la manera en que están diseñados los escenarios postapocalípticos, la simbología que también es muy utilizada para mostrar ciertas cosas si eres de los que está atento a todo, el detalle de los personajes, todo en general es completamente perfecto en la animación y considero que esto le da realmente una esencia distinta a la película de cualquier otra, no había estado tan interesado en la animación de una película hasta este momento y créanme que no decepciona y sumando esto a la historia, todo encaja a la perfección.

El mensaje de la película es sin dudas uno de los más fuertes presentados en una película animada y no lo digo porque sea polémico ni nada por el estilo, es más por lo real que podría ser, no tiene nada de fantasioso y es una gran enseñanza en muchos sentidos del cómo la humanidad intenta encontrar aquello que considera es lo más importante, cuando realmente lo más importante es lo que se está perdiendo en esa búsqueda. Honestamente la película es una constante reflexión del mundo y la humanidad, por lo que, si les soy honesto, si desean una película para divertirse un rato, esta no es la película indicada, aquí hay que estar bastante atento a la historia para poder entenderla lo mejor posible.
Creo que es un tanto evidente que esta no es una película para todas las edades, claramente puede verla un niño, pero estoy seguro que muchas de las cosas que suceden no podrá entenderlas del todo y es que la película toca muchos temas de la vida, como la muerte, la desesperanza, la tristeza y la soledad, pero no por eso todo es malo, el desarrollo de la misma obtiene un final bastante interesante, por lo que como bien menciono, el mensaje es sumamente increíble, así que, si tienen la oportunidad de ver la película, la recomiendo mucho, es una película que no tiene desperdicio.

Finalizo diciendo que, me parece que esta es una película muy infravalorada, considero que no se le dio el apoyo que merecía en su momento, porque aún más que nunca, su historia está vigente y considero que es superior a muchos de los estrenos actuales, pero claramente todo es cuestión de gustos y entiendo que no todo el mundo quiere ver una película que grandes rasgos parece estar llena de sólo cosas negativas, pero ahí está su magia, en que si decides verla, terminarás sorprendido de todo lo que puede enseñarte una película y una historia muy bien contada. Lo siento por hacer una reseña un tanto larga en esta ocasión, pero me emocioné mucho hablando de la película, espero que la reseña les pareciera interesante y que les motive a ver la película, no se arrepentirán. ¡Muchas gracias por pasarse, hasta la próxima!

I remember this movie. If I remember it right it got some drama in it that I almost cry. I think I am going to watch it again. And yes, I agree, this movie is underrated.
The drama is really gripping and very emotional when you understand perfectly what it's about, without a doubt, an amazing movie, I hope you get to see it again soon!

Tengo que revisitarla, la Vi hace muchísimos de niño y recuerdo que me perturbó bastante, creo que no estaba preparado para ella... Aún así, siempre sentí que la animación era hermosa y estéticamente es única.
Es que ciertamente es perturbante, más el hecho de que la historia es algo postapocalíptico y ya eso daba mucha tela para cortar, por eso considero que el significado de la misma es bastante fuerte. Con respecto a la animación, totalmente de acuerdo.
