Today while I was surfing the internet, I came across a movie recommendation and since I had nothing else to watch I decided to give it a chance, I only looked at the genre of the movie to at least know that I liked it, what I do know is that as I always mention, I don't expect much from current horror movies and much less from one where there is humor, this is clearly not a very serious combination, but it never hurts to try to pass the time, so today I want to talk about "Deadstream".

This movie released on March 11, 2022 belongs to the supernatural horror comedy genre and in this new story where we will meet an influencer who after making some mistakes in his career and losing audience decides he must do something impressive to try to regain his followers, so his best idea is to do a live broadcast in a haunted house where he will spend the whole night investigating in search of overcoming his fear of ghosts, all from the perspective of a blog. Let's talk about what happens directly in the movie.
The film begins by showing us a small compilation of the videos that our protagonist named Shawn Ruddy has made throughout his career, some of which are quite objectionable, but it seems to be the type of content that his followers are used to, besides being a content creator who is dedicated to facing his greatest fears with challenges where he tests his bravery, from some more dangerous things like going on a raft tied up, to other somewhat sillier ones like throwing an egg at some policemen so that they chase him.

After this small compilation, begins a live broadcast where Shawn tells that after so many controversies, his apologies and a few months away from everything, he returns to make broadcasts and again with sponsors, so he decides to make a kind of special broadcast and this is to go to a haunted house (since one of his biggest fears are ghosts), where he will spend the whole night and one of the conditions is that, if something happens (some strange noise or any other event) Shawn must go to investigate it, otherwise, he will lose his sponsorship and the monetization of the transmission, so he must practically do everything that scares him.

When the day of the transmission arrives, he starts by welcoming and explaining a little about the house, also how he will handle the cameras and in a very smart way, he decides to place some cameras in different positions in order to monitor the different areas of the house where he will spend the night. To make sure he won't run away like a coward, he decides to throw the spark plugs of his car into the forest, so he won't be able to use it to leave, and once inside the house, he puts a padlock on the door so he can't get out and throws the key through a vent.
So our dear Shawn goes into each of the rooms of the house and telling events that have happened before there, with some visual evidence that he shares with his followers through the transmission while he places some cameras in certain specific places, at certain times he interacts with his followers and has some conversations, all this until certain noises and strange things begin to happen and Shawn must go to all of them to investigate, because that was the condition to maintain his sponsorship.

I want to start my opinion about this film by commenting how much I liked the way of presenting the film as a live broadcast with different cameras, it really is a film that is experienced in first person in many parts and I consider that this in one way or another allows us to be more inside the film, because we are not constantly seeing only the actors but this time we see much more the scenarios and I am very struck by how everything is designed to perfection, this brings a lot to the film and as I said at the beginning, it is a very interesting way to present a film as a real broadcast.
As I said in the introduction, this movie has comedy, so I could not expect a completely serious story at all or at least I thought so, clearly the story of what happens inside is somewhat serious to some extent, the moments of humor are more the comments you have when you pay attention to your followers and read the comments they make and other situations if somewhat sillier, but beyond that I would say that as a standalone story without putting the comedy would have worked quite well too, but I must say that with humor I also enjoyed it.

Who plays the role of Shawn really did a very good job, because I would say that almost all the time it is him acting and all the weight of the film is on him, his reactions, the way he tells the situation, even in the sense of humor, everything really good that I thought of the film I would say is thanks to the actor, because when a film revolves around a character who is on screen almost every minute, it really is an interesting challenge, but in this case they did it very well.
I loved the special effects, because it perfectly went from terror to uncertainty and also to grossness, so they didn't skimp on that aspect and I consider that the result was quite real, dramatic and very interesting, although I'm not going to lie to you, there were certain moments in which the movie lost my attention, maybe because there are certain moments (very few, but there are) slow moments and this makes you get distracted, but apart from that, it is quite an interesting material to have in your list of movies to watch, so I would recommend it for people who like horror movies, as well as for those who don't, because it is a good way to have fun with the things that happen, although don't expect constant comedy either.

El día de hoy mientras navegaba por internet, me salió una recomendación de una película y como no tenía nada más qué ver decidí darle una oportunidad, solamente me fijé en el genero de la misma para saber al menos que fuese alguno que me gustara, lo que sí es que como siempre les menciono, no espero mucho sobre las películas de terror actuales y mucho menos de una donde haya humor, esto claramente no es una combinación muy seria que digamos, pero nunca está de más intentar pasar el rato, por lo que el día de hoy quiero hablarles de “Deadstream”.

Esta película estrenada el 11 de marzo del año 2022 pertenece al género de comedia de terror sobrenatural y en esta nueva historia donde nos adentramos conoceremos a un influencer quien luego de cometer algunos errores en su carrera y perder audiencia decide que debe hacer algo impresionante para intentar recuperar a sus seguidores, por lo que su mejor idea es hacer una transmisión en vivo en una casa embrujada donde pasará toda la noche investigando en busca de superar su miedo a los fantasmas, todo desde la perspectiva de un blog. Hablemos de lo que ocurre directamente en la película.
La película comienza enseñándonos un pequeño recopilatorio de los videos que ha hecho nuestro protagonista llamado Shawn Ruddy a lo largo de su carrera, los cuales algunos son bastante criticables, pero parece ser el tipo de contenido a los que sus seguidores están acostumbrados, además de ser un creador de contenido que se dedica a enfrentar sus mayores miedos con especies de desafíos donde pone a prueba su valentía, desde algunas cosas más peligrosas como ir en una balsa amarrado, como otras un tanto más tontas como arrojar un huevo a unos policías para que le persigan.

Luego de esta pequeña recopilación, empieza una transmisión en vivo donde Shawn cuenta que después de tantas polémicas, de sus disculpas y unos meses alejado de todo, vuelve a hacer transmisiones y nuevamente con patrocinadores, por lo que decide hacer una especie de transmisión especial y esta consiste en ir a una casa embrujada (ya que uno de sus mayores temores son los fantasmas), donde pasará toda la noche y una de las condiciones es que, si ocurre algo (algún ruido extraño o cualquier otro suceso) Shawn debe irlo a investigar, de lo contrario, perderá su patrocinio y la monetización de la transmisión, por lo que prácticamente debe hacer todo aquello que le dé temor.

Cuando llega el día de la transmisión, empieza dando la bienvenida y explicando un poco sobre la casa, también el cómo manejará el tema de las cámaras y de una manera bastante inteligente, decide colocar algunas cámaras en diferentes posiciones para poder monitorear las distintas áreas de la casa donde pasará la noche. Para asegurarse de que no huirá como un cobarde, decide arrojar las bujías de su auto hacia el bosque, por lo que no podrá utilizarlo para irse, además de que una vez dentro de la casa, coloca un candado a la puerta para no poder salir y arroja la llave por un respiradero.
Así nuestro querido Shawn va entrando en cada una de las habitaciones de la casa y contando sucesos que han ocurrido antes ahí, con algunas pruebas visuales que les va compartiendo a sus seguidores a través de la transmisión mientras coloca algunas cámaras en ciertos lugares específicos, en ciertos momentos interactúa con sus seguidores y mantiene algunas conversaciones, todo esto hasta que ciertos ruidos y cosas extrañas comienzan a suceder y a todas debe ir Shawn a investigar, porque ésa era la condición para mantener su patrocinio.

Quiero empezar mi opinión sobre esta película comentando lo mucho que me gustó la manera de presentar la película como una transmisión en vivo con distintas cámaras, realmente es una película que se vive en primera persona en muchas partes y considero que esto de una manera u otra permite estar más dentro de la película, porque no estamos constantemente viendo sólo a los actores sino que en esta ocasión vemos mucho más los escenarios y me llama mucho la atención el cómo todo está diseñado a la perfección, esto aporta mucho a la película y como bien digo al principio, es una manera muy interesante de presentar una película como una verdadera transmisión.
Ya lo decía en la introducción, esta película tiene comedia, por lo que no podía esperar una historia completamente seria del todo o al menos eso pensaba, claramente la historia de lo que sucede dentro es un tanto seria hasta cierto punto, los momentos de humor son más los comentarios que se tienen cuando presta atención a sus seguidores y lee los comentarios que le hacen y otras situaciones si un tanto más tontas, pero más allá de eso diría que como una historia independiente sin meter la comedia hubiese funcionado bastante bien también, pero debo decir que con humor también la disfruté.

Quien hace el papel de Shawn de verdad que hizo un trabajo muy bueno, porque diría que casi en todo momento va de él actuando y todo el peso de la película está en él, sus reacciones, la forma en que va contando la situación, incluso en el sentido del humor, todo realmente lo bueno que me pareció de la película diría que es gracias al actor, porque cuando una película gira entorno a un personaje que está en pantalla casi que en cada minuto, realmente es un desafío interesante, pero en este caso lo lograron muy bien.
Los efectos especiales me encantaron, porque perfectamente se pasaba del terror a la incertidumbre y también a la asquerosidad, por lo que no escatimaron en ese aspecto y considero que el resultado fue bastante real, dramático y muy interesante, aunque no voy a mentirles, hubo ciertos momentos en los que la película perdió mi atención, quizás porque hay ciertos momentos (muy pocos, pero los hay) lentos y esto hace que uno se distraiga, pero quitando eso, es un material bastante interesante para tener en tu lista de películas por ver, por lo que la recomendaría tanto para personas que les gustan las películas de terror, como para los que no, porque es una buena manera de divertirse también con las cosas que suceden, aunque tampoco esperen comedia constante.

Hace años estaba bastante enganchada a los vídeos de exploración urbana porque llegan a ser entretenidos, esa sensación de no saber con lo que se van a encontrar, y me he acordado de todo eso leyendo tu reseña hasta el punto de provocarme ver la película solamente por eso.
Sin embargo, parece interesante por lo que nos comentas de cómo decidieron presentar esta historia con las diversas cámaras y que también tiene comedia, lo cual la hace perfecta para esos momentos donde quieres ver algo sin tomarlo muy en serio, la típica noche de fin de semana en casa descansando.

Lo siento por haber tartado tanto en responder, al igual que tú también estuve enganchado mucho a las exploraciones urbanas, incluso en ocasiones me gusta seguir buscando en youtube y creéme, esto es lo más cercano a una en cuanto a producción de película y resulta muy interesante verla desde esta perspectiva.
