La franquicia de "Mission: Imposible" se ha convertido en una de las más importantes en el cine, en especial en el género de acción, siendo gracias a la megaestrella de Tom Cruise; estoy convencido de que lo referente a realizar sus propias acrobacias y demás escenas de acción es algo que valora (y mucho) el público en general, en mi opinión es el último "Héroe de Acción" y es por eso que cada nuevo film de esta franquicia de espías se convierte de manera obligatoria una que se debería ver.

The "Mission: Impossible" franchise has become one of the most important in cinema, especially in the action genre, being thanks to the megastar of Tom Cruise; I am convinced that the thing about performing his own stunts and other action scenes is something that is valued (and a lot) by the general public, in my opinion he is the ultimate "Action Hero" and that is why every new film of this spy franchise becomes a must see.

En "Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning", seremos testigos de la asignación de una nueva misión para "Ethan Hunt", que le hará enfrentar a su pasado, ya que es parte de un omnipotente enemigo conocido como "the Entity", una poderosa IA que se ha revelado y que amanezca con crear un control mundial usando caos y terror, es por eso que Ethan, junto a su equipo conocido como renegados del "IMF" deberán ser muy cuidadosos porque aparte de este nuevo enemigo, estarán vinculados viejos conocidos queriendo controlar a La Entidad; esto creara una carrera mortal entre diferentes intereses que pondrán en peligro a la humanidad y solo Hunt podrá ser nuestra última esperanza para la salvación.

La séptima película de esta franquicia era de los films que quería ver en este año; personalmente creo que la calidad de historia y de acción de esta serie de filmes es excelente y entretenida, estás son algunos de los factores o características de su éxito y para repetir eso, Cruise debería contar con quiénes le han ayudado a crear muy buenas películas de acción, uno de esos importantes contribuyentes es Christopher McQuarrie quien ha cumplido los roles de director y guionista, no solo de este nuevo film, sino de los dos anteriores; en esta oportunidad hace un excelente trabajo, cada secuencia de acción es mejor que la anterior y eso es debido a lo dinámico y divertido de las escenas, en especial la del tercer y final acto del film lo cual es lo mejor de toda la película; entre esas escenas y la excelente fotografía, posiblemente esta es de las mejores películas que he visto de este director.

El guion co-escrito tanto por McQuarrie junto a Erik Jendresen es lo que más me ha gustado del film; la historia sigue demostrando a un "Ethan" que vive para salvar al mundo en cada misión, pero también demuestra el libre albedrío de tomar decisiones que no son personales, ni están unidas a una rígida orden, sino para un buen mejor; creo que esa es la base para este film en dónde tal como sucede en esta franquicia como en otros de espías, se enfrenta a un posible y terrorífico caos, pero ahora se suma un control después de la creación del caos, un control de cuál el mundo ya es víctima a causa de los algoritmos creados por cierta Inteligencia Artificial; justamente es eso lo que me ha fascinado de la historia porque no la hace sofisticado a pesar de que lo es y creo que es debido a lo fácil de los diálogos, la fluidez de las palabras o posiblemente lo actual del tema en sí.

The seventh film of this franchise was one of the films I wanted to see this year; personally I think the quality of story and action of this series of films is excellent and entertaining, these are some of the factors or characteristics of its success and to repeat that, Cruise should count with who have helped him to create very good action films, one of those important contributors is Christopher McQuarrie who has fulfilled the roles of director and screenwriter, not only of this new film, but of the two previous ones; in this opportunity he does an excellent job, each action sequence is better than the previous one and that is due to the dynamic and funny scenes, specially the third and final act of the film which is the best of the whole movie; between those scenes and the excellent photography, this is possibly one of the best movies I have seen from this director.

The screenplay co-written by both McQuarrie along with Erik Jendresen is what I liked most about the film; the story continues to show an "Ethan" who lives to save the world on every mission, but also demonstrates the free will to make decisions that are not personal, nor bound to a rigid order, but for a good better; I think that is the basis for this film where as it happens in this franchise as in other spy films, it faces a possible and terrifying chaos, but now it adds a control after the creation of chaos, a control of which the world is already a victim because of the algorithms created by a certain Artificial Intelligence; that is precisely what fascinated me about the story because it does not make it sophisticated even though it is and I think it is due to the ease of the dialogues, the fluidity of the words or possibly the topicality of the subject itself.

No es un secreto que Tom Cruise es el único y verdadero valor para esta franquicia, sin él no sería posible pensar en la futura octava película y las siguientes, todo eso es debido a la simple interpretación de "Ethan Hunt" y no quiero que se malinterprete mis palabras sobre el trabajo de Cruise, me refiero que Ethan como personaje es centrado, calculador, calmado y a la vez intenso dependiendo de la situación a la que enfrenta y a pesar de que por la historia sea más pasional, creo que justamente eso hace que resalte aún más las anteriores características de ese personaje. Con respecto a los demás personajes haré referencia a los dos nuevos, comienzo con "Gabriel" Interpretado por Esai Morales, un fantasma del pasado, un poderoso y buen adversario, elegante y letal; en mi opinión de los mejores villanos de la franquicia aunque en el final hay un desacierto que lo convierte en algo caricaturesco, pero en todo el film su trabajo es excelente, otro personaje es "París" Interpretado por Pom Klementieff, es perfecta en el rol de una asesina despiadada, letal, hermosa y divertida; me gustaría ver a Pom interpretar más roles en films de acción; terminó con mi opinión sobre el adecuado personaje de "Grace" interpretado por Hayley Atwell, ella es un claro ejemplo de como no es necesario repetir un relato del origen de un personaje cuando se puede ver desde la perspectiva de otro que tiene muchas similitudes con el protagonista, por los momentos ese es la importancia de este personaje que se ve envuelto en un mundo muy peligroso y sus decisiones será muy importantes para su futuro. El trabajo de estos tres nuevos actores en esta franquicia es excelente.

It is no secret that Tom Cruise is the only true value for this franchise, without him it would not be possible to think about the future eighth film and the following ones, all that is due to the simple interpretation of "Ethan Hunt" and I do not want my words about the work of Cruise to be misinterpreted, I mean that Ethan as a character is focused, calculating, calm and at the same time intense depending on the situation he is facing and despite the fact that for the story he is more passionate, I think that just that makes the previous characteristics of that character stand out even more. Regarding the other characters I will refer to the two new ones, I start with "Gabriel" Played by Esai Morales, a ghost of the past, a powerful and good adversary, elegant and lethal; in my opinion of the best villains of the franchise although in the end there is a blunder that makes it somewhat caricatured, but throughout the film his work is excellent, another character is "Paris" Played by Pom Klementieff, is perfect in the role of a ruthless, lethal, beautiful and funny assassin; I would like to see Pom play more roles in action films; I ended with my opinion about the suitable character of "Grace" played by Hayley Atwell, she is a clear example of how it is not necessary to repeat an origin story of a character when you can see it from the perspective of another character who has many similarities with the protagonist, for the moments that is the importance of this character who is involved in a very dangerous world and her decisions will be very important for her future. The work of these three new actors in this franchise is excellent.

Lamentablemente, para el momento del estreno de "Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning" tuvo que enfrentarse con las dos sensaciones en la taquilla cinematográfica del 2023, tales como "Barbie" y "Oppenheimer", lo cual afectó el desempeño de este film en la recaudación final, pero estoy convencido de que la decisión de no estrenar el octavo film de esta franquicia para el 2025, es algo acertado y me hace ver qué se aprendió de errores y se planea mejor el futuro de esta serie de misiones imposibles. Este film es excelente, es de lo mejor del año y aunque no me terminaba de convencer tanto la manera de relato y el uso del humor en su primer acto, creo que cuando todas las bases de la historia están bien ubicadas, es cuando se hace mucho mejor y en dónde debo repetir que todo el tercer acto es de lo mejor que he visto en el año, todo fluye, es divertido y hasta existe un breve homenaje a De Palma, director del primer film en 1996 con el uso de la cámara en los diálogos de los personajes, es algo muy bien hecho; por todo eso, puedo decir que está es una de mis películas favoritas dentro de esta franquicia y me hace tener muchas más expectativas para la continuación de esta historia.

Unfortunately, at the time of the release of "Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning" it had to face the two box office sensations of 2023, such as "Barbie" and "Oppenheimer", which affected the performance of this film in the final box office, but I am convinced that the decision of not releasing the eighth film of this franchise for 2025, is something right and makes me see that they learned from mistakes and plan better the future of this series of impossible missions. This film is excellent, it is one of the best of the year and although I was not convinced by the way the story was told and the use of humor in the first act, I think that when all the bases of the story are well placed, is when it becomes much better and where I must repeat that the whole third act is the best I've seen this year, everything flows, is fun and there is even a brief tribute to De Palma, director of the first film in 1996 with the use of the camera in the dialogues of the characters, it's something very well done; for all that, I can say that this is one of my favorite films in this franchise and makes me have much more expectations for the continuation of this story.
