The Order - Movie Review [ES - EN]

En la búsqueda de ver algún film antes de adentrarme en reseñar otras nominadas a los Premios Oscar, decidí ver en Amazon Prime Video, la película"The Order", un thriller basado de una novela llamada "The Silent Brotherhood" la cual relata la investigación y persecución de un agente del FBI a un grupo de terroristas que son parte de la llamada "Supremacía Blanca" los cuales al practicar una serie de robos y ataques, se preparan para realizar un ataque de mayor escala contra el gobierno norteamericano, un plan influenciado por la propaganda del odio.

In the search to watch a film before reviewing other Oscar nominees, I decided to watch on Amazon Prime Video, the movie "The Order", a thriller based on a novel called "The Silent Brotherhood" which tells the story of an FBI agent's investigation and pursuit of a group of terrorists who are part of the so-called "White Supremacy" who by practicing a series of robberies and attacks, are preparing for a larger scale attack against the U.S. government, a plan influenced by hate propaganda.

Este es un film dirigido por Justin Kurzel de quién solo he visto uno de sus anteriores trabajos, me refiero a "Assassin's Creed" (2016), un film basado en un videojuego y del cual no fue para nada bueno, pero en esta oportunidad noté un gran trabajo por parte de este director australiano quien desde su visión nos demuestra lo terrorífico de la normalización de lo radical sobre las creencias religiosas, políticas y la diferencias raciales en los Estados Unidos; Kurzel sabe elegir muy bien que tomas hacer para mantener la perspectiva de qué personaje lidera la escena; sabe muy bien como manejar la tensión en varias de las escenas y realiza un correcto uso de la cámara en las secuencias de acción; en mi opinión es de los puntos más altos de esta película.

El guion escrito por Zach Baylin es bastante directo, no existen atajos un desarrollo de algo que sea completamente innecesario y reste relevancia a la historia principal; esa característica la considero válida, pero también creo que afecta el necesario desarrollo de algunos personajes que pueden ser mucho más importantes sus acciones en la historia; me gusta que al ser un thriller criminal, no trata de normalizar los hechos de varios personajes, todo lo contrario, el guion de Baylin en muchos momentos demuestra el terror del uso de la religión como poder de convencimiento para hacer un mal, la radicalización del odio y la inevitable lucha generacional, lo cual es impulsado por una falsa propaganda; cuando el film se enfoca en eso, es muy bueno, pero repito que si se deseaba hacer un mejor trabajo, se debió profundizar más en otros personajes para hacer un mejor relato a sabiendas de que todo es basado de la vida real.

This is a film directed by Justin Kurzel of whom I have only seen one of his previous works, I mean "Assassin's Creed" (2016), a film based on a video game and which was not good at all, but this time I noticed a great job by this Australian director who from his vision shows us the terror of the normalization of radical religious beliefs, politics and racial differences in the United States; Kurzel knows how to choose very well which shots to do to keep the perspective of which character is leading the scene; he knows very well how to handle the tension in several of the scenes and makes a correct use of the camera in the action sequences; in my opinion it is one of the highest points of this film.

The script written by Zach Baylin is quite direct, there are no shortcuts a development of something that is completely unnecessary and detracts from the relevance of the main story; that feature I consider valid, but I also think it affects the necessary development of some characters that can be much more important their actions in the story; i like that being a crime thriller, it does not try to normalize the facts of several characters, on the contrary, the script of Baylin in many moments shows the terror of the use of religion as a convincing power to do an evil, the radicalization of hatred and the inevitable generational struggle, which is driven by a false propaganda; when the film focuses on that, it is very good, but I repeat that if it wanted to do a better job, it should have delved deeper into other characters to make a better story knowing that everything is based on real life.

Otro punto positivo, también a la altura de la dirección del film, es el trabajo actoral de sus dos protagonistas, me refiero a Jude Law y Nicholas Hoult, el primero interpreta a "Terry Husk", agente del FBI quien ha dedicado gran parte de su vida a atrapar a grandes organizaciones criminales y que justamente ese trabajo le ha costado tener una vida normal y que a causa de la naturaleza de algunos hombres de ser violentos y destructivos, eso nunca le será posible de obtener; es por eso que la actuación de Law, enseña un personaje que no puede relacionarse con nada, excepto su trabajo lo cual lo hace un hombre radical aunque también entiende la razón del porqué es de esa manera y eso crea frustración y depresión. Con respecto a el personaje de "Bob Mathews"; es el típico líder quien tiene el poder para usar la propaganda a su favor, la facilidad para el uso de las palabras para meterse en las mentes de personas frustradas, siendo él un hijo de la frustración infectando de odio a otros; es muy buen trabajo de Hoult, tiene la locura y la nula expresión de preocupación y amor hacia otros, excelente actuación tanto de él como de Jude, sus personajes son parecidos con respecto a como usar los medios para obtener algo, pero claramente su opinión de justicia es diferente.

Another positive point, also at the height of the direction of the film, is the acting work of its two protagonists, I mean Jude Law and Nicholas Hoult, the first plays "Terry Husk", FBI agent who has devoted much of his life to catch large criminal organizations and that just that work has cost him to have a normal life and that because of the nature of some men to be violent and destructive, that will never be possible to obtain; that is why the performance of Law, shows a character who cannot relate to anything except his work which makes him a radical man although he also understands the reason why he is the way he is and that creates frustration and depression. Regarding the character of "Bob Mathews"; he is the typical leader who has the power to use propaganda to his advantage, the facility for the use of words to get into the minds of frustrated people, him being a child of frustration infecting others with hate; it is very good work from Hoult, he has the insanity and zero expression of concern and love towards others, excellent acting from both him and Jude, their characters are similar regarding how to use the means to obtain something, but clearly their opinion of justice is different.

The Order es un correcto film, no es perfecto ni el mejor dentro de su género, pero cuentan con características que pueden dar notoriedad y entretener a quien decida verla; personalmente no tenía expectativas y eso como ha ocurrido en otras oportunidades, es algo positivo porque disfruto (si me parece buena) una película; me gusta como la narrativa va dependiendo de sus dos protagonistas aunque es cierto que mejor desarrollado está la historia del personaje que interpreta Hoult aunque eso no quiere decir que sea una propaganda a favor de lo que representó ese personaje y el movimiento que quiso impulsar, todo lo contrario porque en este film observamos como las excusas impuestos en la ley de los Estados Unidos, permite que este grupo de personas llenas de odio lleguen a altos extremos en la radicalización de sus ideas contra personas de diferentes géneros, razas, creencias religiosas y demás. Posiblemente, piensen que esta película es algo repetitivo, pero creo que no se pierde la oportunidad de hacer crítica o señalar de algo que nuevamente viven en ese país, una imposición y a la vez ocultamiento de ideas erradas para cualquier sociedad.

The Order is a correct film, it is not perfect or the best in its genre, but it has features that can give notoriety and entertain whoever decides to see it; personally I had no expectations and that as has happened in other opportunities, is a positive thing because I enjoy (if I think it's good) a movie; I like how the narrative depends on its two main characters although it is true that the story of the character played by Hoult is better developed, although that does not mean that it is a propaganda in favor of what that character represented and the movement he wanted to promote, on the contrary because in this film we observe how the excuses imposed in the law of the United States, allows this group of people full of hate to reach high extremes in the radicalization of their ideas against people of different genders, races, religious beliefs and others. Possibly, you may think that this film is somewhat repetitive, but I think it does not miss the opportunity to criticize or point out something that again live in that country, an imposition and at the same time concealment of wrong ideas for any society.
