Netflix recently decided to launch this 9-episode series that describes the crimes committed by the Menendez brothers. I must point out that I knew nothing about the case, nor about the facts that describe it. The direction was in the hands of several people, among them Ryan Murphy, who was also in charge of the development of Jeffrey Dahmer's story.

This series has a plot with foul language. It is very bold in not clearly demarcating whether the protagonists of the stories are monsters. Its interpretation is left to the perception of each viewer. It is a game of progressive tension.

I must emphasize that the series until the end plays with the fact of guilt of the Menéndez brothers. In the synthesis of criminal law, what precedes the materialization of the criminal act itself does not generate a criminal acquittal. Criminal law is the same everywhere, it is the matrix basis for the criminalization in the legal system of each country.

To be more specific, the series shows how the brothers plan their crime with malice aforethought. This happens thoroughly and in advance. In criminal law, this is called premeditation.

The play on words in the series is very inaccurate, and attempts to generate victimization. Something that does not interfere proportionally in the actual contest for the establishment of the sentence. Debo resaltar que no sabía nada sobre el caso, y tampoco sobre los hechos que lo describen. La dirección estuvo en manos de varias personas, entre ellas Ryan Murphy, quien también estuvo a cargo del desarrollo de la historia de Jeffrey Dahmer.

Ésta serie posee un argumento con un lenguaje soez. Es muy atrevida al no demarcar claramente si los protagonistas de las historias son monstruos. Su interpretación la deja en la percepción de cada espectador. Es un juego de tensión progresivo.

Debo destacar que la serie hasta el final juega con el hecho de culpabilidad de los hermanos Menéndez. En la síntesis del derecho penal, lo que precede a la materialización del acto delictivo en sí mismo no genera una absolución penal. El derecho penal es el mismo en todas partes, es la base matriz para la tipificación en el ordenamiento jurídico de cada país.

Para ser más específico, en la serie se muestra cómo los hermanos planean con alevosía su crimen. Esto ocurre minuciosamente y con antelación. En derecho penal, esto se llama premeditación.

El juego de palabras de la serie es muy inexacto, e intenta generar una victimización. Algo que no interfiere proporcionalmente en el concurso real para el establecimiento de la sentencia. El guion juega con las emociones para tratar de generar una victimización; pero técnicamente un acto delictivo no infiere con improporciones de tiempos distantes para la materialización de otro de una manera más improporcional.

I loved Chloë Sevigny's performance as Kitty Menendez. Perfectly, her revulsion to her children, but also her fear of them, is noted.

Cooper Koch, who plays Erik Menendez, reflects very well the pathology of sociopathy of the protagonist and, in the case of Nicholas Alexander Chavez, expresses very well the euphoric anomaly of Lyle Menendez in his performance. The actors do a wonderful job and perfectly play the roles of two understandable, capricious and lying men.

The series, as it progresses, plays with a dilemma of sorts. That dilemma becomes a kind of game full of lies. Each one sustained by the Menéndez brothers, one more illogical than the other, to the point of gradually invalidating their own confession.

The crime of the Menendez brothers is atrocious because beyond being patricide it was predetermined and beyond being planned it was totally disproportionate. Trying to ratify an extenuating circumstance is insufficient to justify a homicide that, due to its own characteristics, has aggravating circumstances. This is what is clearly seen in the trial of the series.

Cooper Koch, que interpreta a Erik Menéndez, refleja muy bien la patología de sociopatía del protagonista y, en el caso Nicholas Alexander Chávez, expresa muy bien la anomalía eufórica de Lyle Menendez en su actuación. Los actores hacen un maravilloso trabajo y juegan perfectamente el papel de dos hombres inentendibles, caprichosos y mentirosos.

La serie, a medida que avanza, juega con una especie de dilema. Ése dilema se convierte en una especie de juego lleno de mentiras. Cada una sostenida por los hermanos Menéndez, una más ilógica que la otra, al punto de ir poco a poco invalidando su propia confesión.

El crimen de los hermanos Menéndez es atroz porqué más allá de ser parricidio fue predeterminado y más allá de estar planeado fue totalmente desproporcional. Tratar de ratificar una causal de atenuante es insuficiente para justificar un homicidio que, por características propias, posee agravante. Eso es lo que se ve claramente en el juicio de la serie.

Me encantó la actuación de Chloë Sevigny como Kitty Menendez. Perfectamente, se nota su repulsión a sus hijos, pero también el temor a ellos.

The series shows the 90s era very well, and there is solid costume design. I would point out that there are scenes that should not be viewed by children (there is absolute nudity and too much crudity in the crime). One should be prepared to watch two children kill their parents in the most abhorrent way.

The costuming is outstanding, but at some points you feel it breaks the trend pattern of the time. Regarding the message, it is totally uncertain, it cannot be easily defined. To define it for me is practically impossible. What is certain is that I agree on one thing: a son, despite being vexed, would not commit the crime that the Menendez brothers committed unless there was paraphilia or sociopathy in them.

This series is trending on Netflix and is well worth watching. It is a perfect production for people who like criminal minds, criminology, criminal law and crime from an analytical perspective. Nothing in this series is simple.

Simplistic is not a nice option in a context where two men tell each other they were abused and justify an atrocity. Question: Why didn't they call the police? Why then did they fake the crime? Premeditation: grotesque and dangerous minds. I hope you can enjoy the series and its solid argumentation.

La serie muestra muy bien la época de los 90, y hay un vestuario sólido. Destaco que hay escenas que no deben ser vistas por niños (hay desnudo absoluto y demasiada crudeza en el crimen). Se debe estar preparado para ver cómo dos hijos matan a sus padres de la manera más aborrecible.

El vestuario es destacable, pero en algunos momentos sientes que rompe el patrón de tendencias de la época. Con respecto al mensaje, es totalmente incierto, no puede definirse fácilmente. Definirlo para mí es prácticamente imposible. Lo cierto es que concuerdo en una cosa: un hijo, a pesar de ser vejado, no cometería el crimen que los hermanos Menéndez cometieron a menos que existiera parafilia de sociopatía en ellos.

Ésta serie se encuentra en tendencia en Netflix y vale la pena verla. Es una producción perfecta para las personas a las que les gustan las mentes criminales, la criminología, el derecho penal y el crimen desde una perspectiva analítica. Nada en ésta serie es simple.

Lo simplista no es una opción agradable en un contexto en donde dos hombres se dicen que fueron abusados y justifican con ello una atrocidad. Pregunta: ¿Para qué? ¿Por qué no llamaron a la policía? ¿Por qué entonces simularon el crimen? Premeditación: Mentes grotescas y peligrosas. Espero que puedas disfrutar la serie y su argumentación sólida.
