En esta oportunidad quiero conversar un poco sobre la polémica que se ha suscitado recientemente a causa del inesperado éxito en la taquilla cinematográfica estadounidense, de una modesta película de acción llamada Sound of Freedom (Sonido de libertad), la cual denuncia el horrible crimen del tráfico sexual infantil, por medio de la visibilización de una heroica historia de la vida real. En primer lugar, debo decir que no he visto la película, por lo que esto no es una reseña, pues no puedo hacer una valoración sobre la calidad visual o narrativa de la obra. Se trata más bien, de una especie de contextualización de la situación, combinada con mi opinión personal sobre lo que está sucediendo en torno al largometraje, según la información que he podido encontrar al respecto.
Aun sin haber visto la película, gracias a la investigación que he hecho en estos últimos días mediante internet, sé que su argumento gira en torno a las acciones de un hombre llamado Tim Ballard interpretado por Jim Caviezel, el mismo actor que representó a Jesucristo en “La Pasión de Cristo”. En la vida real, Ballard es activista y líder de organizaciones sin ánimo de lucro que luchan en contra de la trata de niños, niñas y adolescentes a nivel internacional. Sin embargo, calificar a esta persona como un simple activista me parece poco descriptivo, pues él es un exagente del Departamento de Seguridad Nacional de EEUU, que en particular se desempeñó en el área de delitos relacionados con la explotación de menores en la frontera con México, trabajo del cual se separó para fundar la organización Operation Underground Railroad (OUR), con la que se dedica a rescatar niños secuestrados por organizaciones criminales.
El largometraje muestra como eje central de la trama, el secuestro de un grupo de niños, luego de haber sido atraídos a una audición por una joven que se hace pasar por reclutadora de prospectos artísticos. Cabe mencionar, que en la vida real esa supuesta cazatalentos, corresponde a una conocida modelo y reina de belleza, llamada Kelly Johana Suárez, quien fue detenida por trata infantil y proxenetismo en el año 2014. Volviendo a la película, entre las víctimas de ese secuestro, se encuentran dos hermanos que son separados posteriormente; uno de ellos es vendido a un pedófilo norteamericano, que al intentar ingresarlo a EEUU es detenido por el protagonista, quien forma parte de los cuerpos de seguridad fronteriza.
El niño le pide a este agente, que rescate a su hermanita, pero para encontrarla le será necesario emprender una búsqueda fuera de su jurisdicción geográfica. De alguna forma, este consigue la autorización de sus superiores para emprender una operación encubierta en Colombia, donde terminan rescatando a más de 100 niños de una mafia que los prostituye. Sin embargo, la niña en cuestión no está junto a los rescatados, pues se encuentra en manos de un líder guerrillero que la mantiene cautiva como su esclava sexual. Por lo tanto, Ballard decide infiltrarse en el grupo insurgente, donde encuentra a la pequeña y logra extraerla del lugar, para finalmente reunirla con su familia.

On this occasion I want to talk a bit about the controversy that has recently arisen due to the unexpected success at the American box office of a modest action movie called Sound of Freedom, which denounces the horrible crime of child sex trafficking, through the visibility of a heroic story of real life. First of all, I must say that I have not seen the film, so this is not a review, since I cannot make an assessment of the visual or narrative quality of the work. It is rather a kind of contextualization of the situation, combined with my personal opinion about what is happening around the feature film, according to the information I have been able to find about it.
Even without having seen the film, thanks to the research I've done in recent days on the Internet, I know that its plot revolves around the actions of a man named Tim Ballard played by Jim Caviezel, the same actor who portrayed Jesus Christ in "The Passion of the Christ." In real life, Ballard is an activist and leader of non-profit organizations that fight against the trafficking of children and adolescents internationally. However, describing this person as a simple activist seems not very descriptive to me, since he is a former agent of the US Department of Homeland Security, who in particular worked in the area of crimes related to the exploitation of minors on the border with Mexico, work from which he separated to found the organization Operation Underground Railroad (OUR), with which he is dedicated to rescuing children kidnapped by criminal organizations.
The feature film shows as the central axis of the plot, the kidnapping of a group of children, after having been lured into an audition by a young woman who poses as a recruiter of artistic prospects. It is worth mentioning that in real life this supposed headhunter corresponds to a well-known model and beauty queen, named Kelly Johana Suárez, who was arrested for child trafficking and pimping in 2014. Returning to the film, among the victims of that kidnapping are two brothers who are later separated; one of them is sold to an American pedophile, who, when trying to bring him into the US, is arrested by the protagonist, who is part of the border security forces.
The boy asks this agent to rescue her little sister, but to find her it will be necessary to undertake a search outside of her geographical jurisdiction. Somehow, he gets the authorization from his superiors to undertake an undercover operation in Colombia, where they end up rescuing more than 100 children from a mafia that prostitutes them. However, the girl in question is not with the rescued, as she is in the hands of a guerrilla leader who holds her captive as her sexual slave. Therefore, Ballard decides to infiltrate the insurgent group, where he finds her little girl and manages to extract her from her place, to finally reunite her with her family.

No sé qué tan explicitas, puedan ser las escenas correspondientes al maltrato de los niños, lo cual, por supuesto debe ser difícil de ver, pero no creo que se trate de una exhibición constante y morbosa de escenas retorcidas y perturbadoras, pues al parecer el enfoque recae en el heroísmo del personaje principal, así como la exposición del entramado criminal que es una realidad en el mundo actual. De modo que, me parece injustificada la saña con la cual los grandes medios de comunicación han estado atacando a la cinta, llegando a catalogar a su audiencia como supremacistas y conspiracionistas con gusanos mentales. No se trata solo de opiniones negativas sobre la calidad del producto, sino de un ensañamiento expreso y un esfuerzo evidente por inculcar a sus seguidores, que el largometraje es un producto exclusivamente dirigido a un público retrógrado y concretamente a lo que ellos califican como personas de extrema derecha, lo cual se ha convertido en una forma de descalificar a quienes no comparten la ideología progresista que impera en Hollywood hoy en día.
Estoy seguro de que la trama incorpora elementos ficticios y quizá se mesclen varios acontecimientos reales de diferentes sucesos en una única historia, ya que se trata de una película de acción, no de un documental histórico, eso es algo habitual en las obras basadas en hechos reales. Por lo tanto, me parece hipócrita por parte de algunos críticos especializados, reprochar la forma en que se exalta la figura de Tim Ballard, en lugar de asignarle el protagonismo a una de las víctimas. Creo que eso es algo secundario, lo que realmente importa en este caso es denunciar un tipo de crimen que se encuentra en auge y que en gran medida es desconocido por la sociedad. Por otro lado, este hombre cuenta con credenciales suficientes para merecer que su historia sea recreada en el séptimo arte, ya que no solo se encarga de rescatar niños, sino que ha sido asesor del gobierno en materia de seguridad e incluso ha comparecido ante el congreso para explicar sus acciones.
Podríamos imaginar que una propuesta audiovisual que busca sensibilizar al público sobre un flagelo tan terrible como lo es el rapto y la posterior prostitución infantil, no debería recibir otra cosa más que apoyo por parte de la industria cinematográfica y los medios de comunicación, pero lamentablemente la realidad es todo lo contrario. Esta propuesta audiovisual se encuentra terminada y lista para su proyección desde 2018, pero hasta ahora no había podido encontrar una distribuidora que la llevara a las salas de cine. Inicialmente su distribución iba a estar a cargo de 20th Century Fox, pero esta empresa fue adquirida por la gigante Disney, la cual decidió declinar ese derecho supuestamente por no ser acorde con su estilo de producciones.
Según el productor Eduardo Verastegui, la película fue rechazada por los principales estudios de Hollywood, incluidas las plataformas de streaming como Netflix y Amazon Prime Video, lo cual de por sí, no constituye un acto de censura, pues quizá simplemente estas empresas no le vieron potencial económico a la propuesta, fue solo la modesta distribuidora de corte cristiano Angel Studios, la que se interesó y termino haciéndose cargo al final de su distribucion. Lo que a mi parecer si genera suspicacia, es que ya ha habido múltiples denuncias en los últimos años sobre la existencia dentro de la esfera hollywoodense de una red de abuso infantil que involucra a personajes muy poderosos de la economía, la política y los medios, incluso han estallado varios casos puntuales muy notorios como los de Bill Cosby, Kevin Spacey, Harvey Weinstein e incluso se puede mencionar el caso de Jeffrey Epstein, que si bien no está directamente relacionado con la industria del cine, su caso salpico a numerosas personalidades de diferentes ámbitos.

I don't know how explicit the child abuse scenes can be, which of course must be hard to watch, but I don't think it's a constant and morbid display of twisted and disturbing scenes, as it seems the focus falls on the heroism of the main character, as well as the exposure of the criminal fabric that is a reality in today's world. So, I think the viciousness with which the major media have been attacking the tape is unjustified, coming to classify its audience as supremacists and conspiracists with mental worms. It is not just a question of negative opinions about the quality of the product, but of an express cruelty and an evident effort to instill in its followers that the feature film is a product exclusively aimed at a retrograde audience and specifically at what they classify as extreme right-wing people, which has become a way of disqualifying those who do not share the progressive ideology that prevails in Hollywood today.
I'm sure that the plot incorporates fictional elements and maybe several real events from different events are mixed in a single story, since this is an action movie, not a historical documentary, that is usual in works based on true events. Therefore, it seems hypocritical to me on the part of some specialized critics, to reproach the way in which the figure of Tim Ballard is exalted, instead of assigning the leading role to one of the victims. I think that this is something secondary, what really matters in this case is to denounce a type of crime that is on the rise and that is largely unknown by society. On the other hand, this man has sufficient credentials to deserve his story to be recreated in the seventh art, since he is not only in charge of rescuing children, but he has been a government advisor on security matters and has even appeared before Congress to explain his actions.
We could imagine that an audiovisual proposal that seeks to sensitize the public about a scourge as terrible as kidnapping and subsequent child prostitution should receive nothing more than support from the film industry and the media, but unfortunately the reality is quite the opposite. This audiovisual proposal has been finished and ready for screening since 2018, but until now I had not been able to find a distributor to take it to movie theaters. Initially, its distribution was going to be in charge of 20th Century Fox, but this company was acquired by the giant Disney, which decided to decline that right, supposedly because it was not consistent with its production style.

Con la atmosfera de encubrimiento que envuelva a Hollywood respecto a los casos antes mencionados y los frecuentes rumores sobre la existencia de una red de prostitución infantil que supuestamente permanece en las sombras e involucra a la farándula norteamericana, es difícil no atar cabos y asociar los obstáculos que parecen habérsele impuesto a esta cinta, para evitar que el tema que aborda sea difundido. Si se toma en consideración que, según los expertos, EEUU es el primer consumidor mundial de este tipo de servicio criminal, además que el negocio del entretenimiento audiovisual produce riquezas muy elevadas, en manos de personas que con gran frecuencia incurren en excesos de todo tipo y dado su condición de celebridades, suelen ser muy excéntricas y presentar conductas no muy apegadas a la moralidad, resulta sencillo pensar que pueden estar intentando ocultar algo en lo que están involucrados.
Otro punto que creo es pertinente mencionar, es que una buena parte de las personas que trabajan en medios de comunicación relacionados con el área de espectáculos y noticias de la farándula, están muy ideologizados en cuanto a las ideas progresistas, por lo que algunos ya no se limitan a enarbolar las banderas feministas y de la diversidad de géneros, sino que ya están llegando al extremo de considerar a la pedofilia como otra orientación sexual, al igual por ejemplo que el transespecismo o la transcapacidad, lo cual personalmente me parece en cierto modo correcto, siempre que se les entienda también como tipos de trastornos psicológicos. El caso es que la sociedad no puede por el hecho de que existan personas a las que les guste comer carne humana, permitir que el canibalismo este aceptado legalmente, así mismo no se debe minimizar la gravedad del crimen que corresponde a la explotación sexual de niños y adolescentes, solo por defender a personas con preferencias pedófilas, lo cual parece ser el propósito de la corriente progre o woke que impera en los medios de comunicación estadounidense.
Por otro lado, la postura adversa por parte de la prensa especializada hacia la película Sound of Freedom, creo que tiene que ver en parte con el paradigma conservador de la obra, pues, aunque tengo entendido que la argumentación no toma expresamente una postura política determinada, sin embargo, para los estándares ideológicos de la izquierda, el hecho de que el héroe sea un hombre blanco heterosexual, presumiblemente de creencias cristianas, que combate a criminales en su mayoría latinoamericanos y que el relato deja mal parada tanto a la guerrilla colombiana como a los gobiernos que se hacen de la vista gorda ante tal atrocidad, termina constituye una especie de ofensa para ellos. Pues, aunque actualmente se habla mucho de inclusión y tolerancia, quienes fomentan la llamada cultura de la cancelación, demuestran ser bastante intolerantes a las ideas contrarias a las suyas.
De hecho, en mi opinión, la razón de mayor peso, que motiva a estas personas para que rechacen tan ferozmente a esta película, es que quienes están detrás de su creación y quienes la promocionan, son precisamente del tipo de personas a las que ellos catalogan como conspiracioncitas de extrema derecha, entre ellos Donald Trump y Mel Gibson, aunque ninguno de estos dos tiene participación en su producción, solo la han apoyado y recomendado. Por lo tanto, sin importar si la película muestra hechos reales o teorías de la conspiración sin basamento alguno, de cualquier forma, los medios de tendencia progre sienten que deben atacarla, únicamente para ir en contra de quienes se han involucrado de alguna forma con ella. A mi parecer esto es un error, pues solo han contribuido al éxito de una cinta que tuvo un presupuesto de catorce millones de dólares y ha recaudado más de cuarenta, quizá gracias a que se ha viralizado la idea de que está siendo obstaculizada o censurada por la elite del poder globalista.

On the other hand, the adverse position on the part of the specialized press towards the film Sound of Freedom, I think has to do in part with the conservative paradigm of the work, because, although I understand that the argument does not expressly take a particular political position, however, according to the ideological standards of the left, the fact that the hero is a heterosexual white man, presumably of Christian beliefs, who fights criminals, mostly Latin Americans, and that the story leaves both the Colombian guerrillas and the guerrillas in a bad light. to governments that turn a blind eye to such atrocity, it ends up being something of an offense to them. Well, although there is currently a lot of talk about inclusion and tolerance, those who promote the so-called culture of cancellation, prove to be quite intolerant of ideas contrary to their own.

Esta es una pelicula que todo el mundo debe ver, se necesita abrirles los ojos a las personas que viven en una burbuja, es una realidad que se vive desde hace muchos años pero que poco se habia hablado, porque como lo mencionas a un grupo importante de la elite no le conviene que temas como estos salgan a la luz, pero poco a poco se han ido destapando estos acontecimientos que son turbios, despreciables y que deben de frenarse ya, porque los niños no se tocan son sagrados y hay que hacer de todo para defenderlos y permitirles vivir una infancia feliz que todo niño merece tener. It's pretty telling, that all MSM and Hollywood tried to block and smear this movie. Jim Caviezel is pretty much blacklisted for a decade now for being openly Christian.

Coincido con tu idea final de que hablar tanto de una película, aunque sea en medio de una polémica, juega a favor publicitariamente hablando. En cuanto a tu post, me gustó que hicieras esta publicación - con un título muy claro sobre lo que es - porque es cierto que estas historias hay que comentarlas, denunciarlar, conocerlas. Además de los casos que mencionas, siempre ha sido una conducta típica de los poderosos encubrir sus intereses económicos y a pesar de lo cruel que puede resultar reconocerlo, el tráfico de drogas, de armas y de personas, es un negocio rentable. Por eso lo siguen haciendo y por eso - por dinero - hay personas que desean que no se hable de estas cosas y mucho menos que se mencionen nombres.
