¡Hola, hola, hivers del cine! Espero estén muy bien, bienvenidos a otra reseña. Ayer tenía ganas de volver a ver "Paternidad" una cinta estrenada en 2021 que pueden conseguir en Netflix. Para mí ver películas una segunda vez es la prueba de fuego porque tengo la oportunidad de fijarme en detalles que antes no eran perceptibles. Vamos a ello.
Matt y Liz tuvieron la suerte de encontrarse y ser parte de un matrimonio feliz que pronto tendría una hermosa bebé. Sin embargo, Liz sufre una complicación pulmonar que obliga a Matt a enfrentarse a la intimidante, frustrante y bonita aventura de criar a su hija Maddy a pesar de las críticas, los obstáculos y el miedo.
Personalmente creo que si ves una película una segunda vez en un lapso corto y no estás distraído en lo que viene o cuánto tiempo falta para que termine es buena señal. Me disfruté "Paternidad" sin sentir que la estaba viendo para hacerles reseña. Y pienso que en la época que vivimos es difícil ver una película sencilla a propósito, con el streaming la gente casi no ve películas para probar, mucha gente solo ve recomendaciones o actores específicos. Se ha perdido un poco el ver una película cualquiera que ruedan en un canal.
Si eres de las personas que no les gusta la mezcla de drama y comedia porque sienten que le quita la seriedad a la trama, posiblemente no te encante la película, pero a mi parecer está bien nivelada. Hacen mucho énfasis en el desgaste emocional que conlleva sacar adelante a un bebé, la película no toca aspectos económicos, principalmente sociales y sentimentales pero lo hace bien.
El tema del duelo es mi aspecto favorito porque aunque el centro de la historia sea la paternidad podemos ver como Matt lucha para sobreponerse a la pérdida de Liz, además, hacen que la madre de Liz sea más que relleno y también vemos lo difícil que fue para ella perder a su hija y cómo va a evolucionar su convivencia con Matt. Los momentos dramáticos están bastante bien, recordemos que Kevin Hart (Matt) es actor de comedia y es agradable verlo en otra faceta.
Hablando de comedia, tengo que decir que no es la mejor del planeta. Si hace gracia, más de la que uno pudiera esperar porque tiene un performance muy de comedia romántica moderna, a veces sí resulta una comedia muy sosa, pero supongo que siempre hay un chiste que no termina de cuajar al público. Sí hay personajes que sobran, no es un secreto, ese chiste de amistades raras dejenselo a Adam Sandler, porque en otras cintas es un poco forzado. Me cayeron bien los personajes secundarios, pero no sumaban mucho.
Vivo en un país matriarcal, es difícil ver un padre viudo criando a sus hijos, pero retrata bastante bien algunos casos que conozco. Por lo ligero, lo tierno, y las partes divertidas le tengo que dar un 8/10.

Hello, hello, movie hivers! I hope you are doing great, welcome to another review. Yesterday I was looking forward to re-watching "Fatherhood" a film released in 2021 that you can get on Netflix. For me watching movies a second time is the acid test because I get a chance to notice details that were not noticeable before. Let's get to it.
Matt and Liz were fortunate enough to meet and be part of a happy marriage that would soon have a beautiful baby girl. However, Liz suffers a lung complication that forces Matt to face the daunting, frustrating and beautiful adventure of raising their daughter Maddy despite criticism, obstacles and fear.
Personally I think if you watch a movie a second time in a short span and you're not distracted by what's coming up or how long until it's over it's a good sign. I enjoyed "Parenthood" without feeling like I was watching it to review it for you. And I think in the age we live in it's hard to watch a simple movie on purpose, with streaming people hardly watch movies to try, a lot of people just watch recommendations or specific actors. It's kind of lost a little bit to watch a random movie that they shoot on a channel.
If you are one of those people who don't like the mix of drama and comedy because you feel it takes away from the seriousness of the plot, you may not love the movie, but in my opinion it is well leveled. They put a lot of emphasis on the emotional toll of raising a baby, the movie doesn't touch on economic aspects, mainly social and sentimental but it does it well.
The theme of grief is my favorite aspect because even though the focus of the story is fatherhood we can see how Matt struggles to overcome the loss of Liz, also, they make Liz's mother more than filler and we also see how hard it was for her to lose her daughter and how her coexistence with Matt is going to evolve. The dramatic moments are pretty good, remember that Kevin Hart (Matt) is a comedy actor and it's nice to see him in another facet.
Speaking of comedy, I have to say it's not the best on the planet. It is funny, more than you might expect because it has a very modern romantic comedy performance, sometimes it is a very bland comedy, but I guess there is always a joke that does not end up curdling the public. There are some characters that are left over, it's not a secret, that joke about weird friendships, leave it to Adam Sandler, because in other films it's a bit forced. I liked the secondary characters, but they didn't add up to much.
I live in a matriarchal country, it is complicated to see a widowed father raising his children, but it portrays quite well some cases I know. For the light, tender and funny parts I have to give it an 8/10.

Justamente casi no se ven estos casos en la pantalla, una de mis preferidas que toca la paternidad es En Busca de la Felicidad, en la sociedad actual quiere invisibilizarse la importancia de los hombres en la sociedad y me parece que películas como estas le devuelve la justicia a padres viudos, solteros o divorciados que se hacen cargo de sus hijos.
