Movie Week | The BeeKeeper

Good afternoon, friends! Lately I just can't stop watching movies and series! I really enjoy watching the plot, building logical chains and just enjoying watching quality movies. Eren also noticed that I had a new "hobby" and decided to surprise me, what I was very happy about! Eren bought us 2 tickets to the cinema for the new movie "The Beekeeper". Since we currently live in Turkey, going to the movies is limited due to my Turkish language skills. 80% of the movies in the cinema are, of course, in Turkish. But we were very lucky that the movie "The Beekeeper" was released in the original English with Turkish subtitles. Our choice was obvious.

"The Beekeeper" is an American action thriller film directed by David Ayer. The main roles were played by Jason Statham, Jeremy Irons and Josh Hutcherson. The film was released in the United States on January 12, 2024 (Wikipedia). Jason Statham's role was cast perfectly. I can't imagine any other actor for this role.

I don't want to spoiler since the movie is new, but I really want to share my impressions after watching it. The movie started with a scene of a woman being scammed by scammers who have huge offices, aka call centers. The poor woman was kind enough to believe the criminals and transfer $2 million from her account. This money was from the fund for helping orphans. Due to such a big loss, the woman could not forgive herself and committed suicide. From this moment and begins a real action movie with brutal scenes of punishment of criminals and all involved in the deception of innocent people.

Adam Clay is a man with a past he doesn't want to remember, and it's better not to mess with him, as he makes clear when he bursts into the central office building with two canisters in his hands. Statham's thick black stubble really suits him, it's like a business card, it makes him look more brutal and menacing. All in all, a pretty typical Jason character, which suits him very well.

Fierce fights, in which the main character is truly cold-blooded and ruthless, show his excellent preparation. And even though most of these fight scenes look very unrealistic, I always found it interesting to watch every single move. Also, the main character is always straightforward and clearly defends his position.

One of the most important aspects of the movie is its well-thought-out connection between the lives of the bee family and the circumstances in the lives of the characters. This connection gives the story depth and symbolism, making it something more than a simple drama. The complex interweaving of these two elements demonstrates the creativity of the filmmakers and the skill of the storyteller. The choice of actors was well considered, contributing to the overall success of the movie. Speaking of Jason, he once again demonstrates a perfect performance that keeps the audience entertained. His ability to consistently create engaging characters is a testament to his acting skills. Whether it's emotional depth or more light-hearted moments, Jason always impresses.

After watching this movie we had a very positive experience. We decided that we will go to the movies more often. There are always topics for discussion.
