Hey everyone! so we've had another Saturday night, in our house it's movie night so yet another movie to review 🙂

On movie night, we (two young teenage girls and my wife) usually pick three movies, anyone can pick them, we watch the trailers together and then vote, very democratic, right!? On a tie, we usually just pick one and watch the other a week later.
The other two movies are saved to be in the list later.

Since we're new to Disney+ we had a lot of 'new' options, the list for the night was two movies that stayed in from last week, the movie we watched last week was replaced with a new option:

  • Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny

  • Pirates of the Caribbean - The Curse of the Black Pearl

  • Raya and the Last Dragon

Indana Jones got 1 vote, Raya also got 1 vote and both me and my oldest daughter chose Pirates of the Caribbean, and while it's considered a classic by many people and already 21 years old, for some reason I never watched it before, probably because we have only had Netflix for the last years and sometimes switched it with a local streaming service called Videoland, and Disney keeps most movies on their own platform.

Pirates of the Caribbean - The Curse of the Black Pearl

Genre: Fantasy / Adventure
Play time: 143 minutes
Director: Gore Verbinski
Cast: Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush, Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom.
Release date: August 14 2003

As most people will know, the movie is about Jack Sparrow, the captain of the notorious ghost ship 'The Black Pearl'. But his second in command stole the ship and left him on a deserted island. His old crew captures the cursed treasure of Cortés, a chest filled with Aztec gold.
The new captain Barbossa captures Elizabeth Swann because they think she's the only one that can lift the curse with a blood offering. The real person who can lift the curse is Will Turner however, and because he's got a crush for Elizabeth he calls in the help of the only one who knows the location of the home port of The Black Pearl - Captain Jack Sparrow.

Disney is always doing a great job on their movies and this wouldn't be considered a classic if it wasn't any good, I really enjoyed watching the movie, it contained some funny moments but also a lot of action combined with a good story, Johnny Depp plays a good role of a somewhat crazy (and funny) captain.
We definitely will watch the sequels later!

Keira Knightley is the absolute beauty in this movie and is doing a great job in the role of Elizabeth Swann.

Next week, Raya and the last dragon will probably get replaced with something else as well, my wife and oldest daughter didn't liked it so much, so we need to find TWO new entries!
