Many times, when I come across movie reviews online, I keep the name of the movie somewhere in my brain shelves. I might not remember what exactly the review said about it but for the fact that I made a mental note of the title, best believe it was a good review. And that was what happened with this movie I'm about to review.

I saw the review, looked forward to watching it and surprisingly found it among the ton of movies I have stored in my computer. I found it there and since I wanted to watch a movie at that moment, I watched it. Now let me tell you about it.

Talk to me is a 2022 horror film staring Sophie Wilde, Zoe Terakes, Miranda Otto and Alexandra Jensen. It follows bestfriends Jade (Alexandra Jensen) and Mia(Sophie Wilde). Both are members of a group chat, that sends videos of people at parties, playing games with an embalmed hand and doing unthinkables, under it's influence. Even when the games seems risky, Mia is very much interested in experiencing it herself. She talks Jade into attending one of the parties that night and when they get there, she offers to be the first to play that night. There are rules to the game. One of which is not letting a person hold the hand for more than 90seconds but Mia is on a high and can't seem to get enough of it. She succeeds in exceeding the 90mins timeframe and so far, she's been fine.

Everything continues to go smoothly for them, with Mia finding ways to play the game at every opportunity she gets. But unknown to her, there's more to the game than just the high. And of course, they aren't exempted from its consequences.

I didn't know I had missed horror movies so much till I watched this one. It's been about two months since I watched one and thanks to how wonderful the suspense in this movie was, my love for the genre is back. I watched this movie and i couldn't help the thought of 'What exactly was going through the minds of these kids as they took these risks?' I watched them smile every time they came down from the high and I chuckled on my own end because I knew doom was coming for them sooner.

As is typical of horror movies, it usually starts with the kids. If it's not their curiosity that spikes it, it's their love for fun. It's sad that what starts out as fun always ends in tears or hard learned lessons. I enjoyed the suspense/build up. The movie moved in such a pace that the viewer would begin to entertain thoughts of the character's actions having no consequences. It moved so slowly and it's funny how the peak suspense was at the last minute. That said, the ending was my favourite part in this movie.

I watched this movie with someone and at the last scene, I paused to stare at his face for a while, to ensure he registered the same shock as I did then. The ending left me reeling and made me decide that if there was a sequel, I was definitely going to watch it. It was mind-blowing, I loved it.

I enjoyed the acting. Sophie's especially - she devoured the role. I enjoyed the pacing and the visuals. I loved that they didn't try taming gory scenes. Everything was displayed in its fullest, and it aided my watching.

Writing about this movie, I realized that if one asked for a horror movie recommendation, I definitely would. But I didn't actually find it all that scary probably because you needed the hand for things to go wrong. And since, I don't have 'the hand', I'm good to go.

I'll rate this movie an 8.5/10. It's an intriguing watch for all those who are fans of the horror genre. If you're not a fan, you can watch it too. Just remember, you're safe as long as you never let the hand in.

Thanks for reading.

I also loved this one and it certainly got a place in my list of the better horror movies like It Follows, The Babadook, barbarian, ...

Also nice to see youtubers succeed in making a great movie and I'm looking forward to their next one which is called Bring Her Back which I'm trying to avoid any kind of spoiler of.

I just checked Bring Her Back, and it looks like something that'll be good will definitely look out for it.
And yes, this movie satisfied me to a fault
