IT(2017): A horror classic that lost its bite

I was in 7 grade when this movie first came out and I saw it. My goodness,I was terrified for my life. Rewatching it now and it's not all that, not in any way. I was just a bit fragile then? Or something,I don't even know. But I really liked it then, even if it scared the hell out of me. I was always scared of the dark but that intensified it by like a ×10. It was terrible. And funny thing is,I knew it'd scare me but I still went ahead to watch it. I don't know whether it was to prove myself or I was curious or just plain stupidity. And now fast forward to now, it's second to dust I guess. It's not scary, it's just annoying to watch.

IT was definitely a good movie. I think I've seen it about 3 times and this show be the 4th time. I just needed something that was quick to distract and unfortunately I chose this, it didn't even make what was in my head fade a bit. Oh well-, it's a good movie regardless, asides the chapter 2. Chapter 2 is arse.
Now, let's talk about it for a bit.

The movie IT (2017) is a horror movie that takes place in Derry, Maine, a small town with a dark past where fear is always lurking. We're introduced to the Denbrough family, focusing on Bill and his younger brother, Georgie. The story takes a devastating turn when Georgie runs into the terrifying Pennywise, a shape-shifting creature that emerges from the sewers.

On a rainy day, Georgie heads outside with his paper boat, a simple toy that represents the innocence of childhood. As he plays near a storm drain, his curiosity gets the better of him, and he's drawn to the dark opening of the gutter. Despite feeling cautious, Georgie can't resist the temptation of the toy and the unknown. As his boat floats into the murky water, a sinister presence watches from the shadows.

Bill, who's already dealt with loss in the past, is clueless about the horror that's about to unfold until it's too late. In a heart-stopping scene, Pennywise emerges from the gutter disguised as a creepy clown with a twisted smile. With a hungry gleam in his eye, Pennywise lures Georgie closer with promises and playful banter. Before Georgie can escape, Pennywise grabs him and drags him into the darkness of the gutter.

Bill's world is shattered when he learns about his brother's disappearance and death, an event that haunts him for years. The story then shifts to focus on the "Losers' Club," a group of misfit kids who've all experienced Pennywise's terror. Bill, still grappling with guilt and grief, becomes the leader of the group. Each kid has their own personal demons, but they band together to confront the evil that's haunting their town.

As they dig deeper, they uncover a disturbing pattern of disappearances and murders that have plagued Derry for generations, all linked to Pennywise. The Losers' Club investigates the town's history, uncovering dark secrets about Derry's past and its connection to the sinister clown. Their journey is about friendship, bravery, and facing their deepest fears.

Each kid must confront not only the monster outside but also their own personal traumas. Bill's quest for redemption and his drive to overcome his brother's loss serve as a powerful emotional core for the film. The memories of Georgie's laughter and innocence are constant reminders of what's at stake.

In a climactic showdown, the Losers' Club prepares to face Pennywise, knowing that the battle will determine not only the fate of Derry but also their own future. IT (2017) uses Georgie's tragic death as a catalyst to explore themes of confronting evil, the resilience of youth, and the power of friendship in the face of overwhelming darkness.

I just want to let you know, one of the best scene was at the beginning of the movie. It was terrifying and I was scared of walking too close to gutters(road drainage) for a while.

Thanks for reading.

The tragic deaths, the terror, the blood, the suspense, even at my age, do not let me sleep.
