The movie is based on the real life of a young American surfer named Bethany Hamilton, who is attacked by a shark while waiting for a wave to surf with a friend, losing her arm in the attack.

In the development of the film, after the shark attack, we see all the drama of the family and personal situation of the protagonist, in order to save her life at first. Emotional process, which was really very well worked in the film, to the point that there is a moment in which one as a viewer feels the anguish of the parents, through the scenes.

Then comes one of the most interesting parts of the film and it is the normal process of depression, which any person suffers, but here the most interesting thing is to see the support of family and friends, Bethany, begins to overcome little by little, the process of depression and begins to move forward in what we could call the recovery of his life.

Another point that caught my attention in the film is that the life that Bethany wanted for herself was to be a professional surfer, something she achieved after much effort and work, but in that process of effort and work interesting situations happened, which are reflected in the film and leave a mark on the viewer.

One of these scenes is when Bethany decides to compete for the first time in a surfing event after the accident, and although she participated, she did not qualify, and she found that some of the surfers looked at her with pity and that her best friend, who is also a surfer, besides supporting her in the water, asked the others to support her. However, there was always one surfer who gave no room for pity and always competed against Bethany as if they were on equal terms.

The truth is that Bethany did not even manage to qualify in that first competition and had several falls, which made her give up on her dream at first and I would say that she even started to feel sorry for herself. In fact, she came out of the water so upset, that there is a scene where some girls congratulate her and ask her for an autograph and she gives them the surfboard, marking that scene, a break or rupture of the protagonist with her dreams and desires.

In the process, Bethany goes to the local church and meets her friends, who belong to a Christian group called Underwood. The leader of this group invites her to Phuket, Thailand, where the group is going to assist as part of the international volunteers to help the victims of the 2004 tsunami.

This was a life-changing process for Bethany, who realized that in the world there were people in worse situations than hers, in fact, there is one of the most significant scenes of the film, when on a beach Bethany sees a girl who is very afraid of the sea after the tsunami tragedy and she takes a surfboard and enters the water and starts playing until the children enter the water with her, which implies her return to the water.

After the Thailand experience, Bethany's perspective and life values change, a change that is further deepened when she arrives home and sees sacks of mail from people in various countries thanking her for inspiring them by participating in the competition.

There is a very important scene, where Bethany comments to her family that they don't understand why they write to her, if she failed in the competition, and her mother responds, that's so you can see that the important thing is not to win, these people write to you and thank you, because you tried and inspired them.

After that experience, Bethany dedicated herself to training, until she managed to surpass herself, becoming a professional surfer today.

It is a film about personal improvement, where we see how the situations that arise in life change people and help them to grow in their level of consciousness, when people make room in their personal situation, no matter how hard it may be, for faith in themselves, acceptance, hope and spirituality.

On the other hand, in our life, we see cases that are contrary to those in the film, that is, bitter and depressed people, who not only destroy their lives, but also the lives of the people around them, so the film also implies that reality, which causes an interesting contrast in these different visions.

I can also say that the film is inspiring, which is why I decided to choose it for this contest, finally, the film has drama, has action, has processes of reflection and interesting dialogues, very beautiful landscapes and very positive messages, so I recommend watching it, more in this Holy Week, which is a time of reflection, recollection and inner search for Christians.

Antes que nada cordiales saludos a la comunidad de CineTv y Hive en general, hoy la comunidad nos trae un nuevo reto, el cual se basa en hablar sobre nuestra película preferida con una playa. Y aunque hay muchas películas que he visto donde hay una playa en las escenas, o donde la trama se desarrolla en una playa, me decidí por la película Soul Surfer.

Si es cierto, uno tiene un enorme abanico para elegir, y con películas de diferentes géneros que van desde el bélico con Cartas desde Iwo Jima, pasando por temas religiosos como la Película Molokai, que también tiene otra versión llamada Molokai La Isla Maldita, películas estas de los años 40 y 50, pasando por clásicos de como de Aquí a la Eternidad, Tora, Tora, Tora o La Isla del Tesoro, entre muchísimas otras, decidí escribir sobre Soul Surfer, ya que implica, una historia real de superación personal, que inspiró y ayudó a muchas personas.

La película se basa en la vida de real de una joven surfista estadounidense de nombre Bethany Hamilton, la cual es atacada por un tiburón mientras esperaba una ola para surfear junto a una amiga, perdiendo el brazo en el ataque.

En el desarrollo de la película, después del ataque del tiburón, se ve todo el drama de la situación familiar y personal de la protagonista, para en un primer momento poder salvar la vida. Proceso emotivo, que fue realmente muy bien trabajado en la película, hasta el punto que hay un momento en que uno como espectador siente la angustia de los padres, a través de las escenas.

Después viene una de las partes más interesantes de la película y es el proceso de depresión normal, que sufre cualquier persona, pero acá lo más interesante es ver el apoyo de la familia y de los amigos, Bethany, comienza a superar poco a poco, el proceso de depresión y comienza a avanzar en lo que podríamos llamar la recuperación de su vida.

Otro punto que me llamó mucho la atención de la película, es que la vida que Bethany, quería para ella, era la de ser una surfista profesional, algo que logró después de mucho esfuerzo y trabajo, pero en ese proceso de esfuerzo y trabajo sucedieron situaciones bien interesantes, que se reflejan en la película y que dejan huella en el espectador.

Una de estas escenas, es cuando Bethany, decide competir pro primera vez en un evento de sruf después del accidente, y aunque participó, no logró clasificar, además se encontró, con que algunas de las surfistas la veían con lástima y que su mejor amiga que también es surfista además de apoyarla en el agua, pedía a las demás que la apoyaran. Sin embargo, siempre hubo una surfista que no le dio cabida a la lástima y siempre competía en contra de Bethany como si estuviesen en igualdad de condiciones.

Lo cierto es que Bethany, ni siquiera logró clasificar en esa primera competencia y tuvo varias caídas, lo que le hizo desistir en un primer momento de su sueño y diría que hasta empezó a sentir lástima de sí misma. De hecho, salió del agua tan molesta, que se ve una escena donde unas niñas las felicitan y le piden un autógrafo y ella les regala la tabla de surf, marcando esa escena, un rompimiento o rotura de la protagonista con sus sueños y anhelos.

En ese proceso, Bethany, va a la iglesia local y se consigue con sus amigos, quienes pertenecen a un grupo cristiano llamado Underwood. La líder de este grupo la invita a Phuket, en Tailandia, donde el grupo va asistir como parte de los voluntarios internacionales, para ayudar a las víctimas del tsunami del 2004.

Ese fue un proceso que la cambió la vida a Bethany, quien se dio cuenta de que en el mundo había personas en peores situaciones que las de ella, de hecho, hay nace una de las escenas más significativas de la película, cuando en una playa Bethany, ve a una niña que le tiene mucho miedo al mar después de la tragedia del tsunami y ella, toma una tabla de surf y entra al agua y se pone a jugar hasta que los niños entran al agua con ella, lo que implica su regreso al agua.

Después de la experiencia de Tailandia, la perspectiva y los valores de la vida Bethany cambian, cambio que se profundiza más, en el momento en que llega a su casa y ve sacos de correspondencia de personas de varios países, que le dan las gracias por haberlos inspirado al haber participado en la competencia.

Hay una escena muy importante, donde Bethany, comenta a su familia que no entienden el porqué le escriben, si ella fracasó en esa competencia, y su madre le responde, eso es para que veas que lo importante no es ganar, estas personas te escriben y te dan las gracias, porque lo intestaste y así los inspiraste.

Después de esa experiencia, Bethany se dedicó a entrenar, hasta que logró superarse a sí misma, lográndose convertir en la actualidad en una surfista profesional.

Qué es una película, de superación personal, donde se ve como las situaciones que se presentan en la vida, cambian a las personas y les ayudan a crecer en su nivel de consciencia, cuando las personas le dan cabida en su situación personal por más dura que sea, a la fe en sí mismos, a la aceptación, a la esperanza y a la espiritualidad.

Por otro lado, en nuestra vida, vemos casos que son contrarios a los de la película, es decir, el de personas amargadas y deprimidas, que no solamente destruyen su vida, sino la de las personas que están a su alrededor, por lo que la película implica también esa realidad, lo que provoca un contraste interesante en estas diferentes visiones.

También puedo decir que la película es inspiradora, razón por la cual decidí elegirla para este concurso, finalmente, la película tiene drama, tiene acción, tiene procesos de reflexión y diálogos interesantes, paisajes muy hermosos y mensajes muy positivos, por lo que recomiendo verla, más en esta Semana Santa, que es un tiempo de reflexión, recogimiento y búsqueda interior para los cristianos.
