Your take is pretty interesting! I liked it too, but I didn’t quite love it either. Seeing the Henry Cavill version in anime form definitely added a nice touch, and I appreciated how they kept the essence of the character intact. But like you, I felt the plot had some Little Mermaid vibes to it. Maybe Netflix could’ve gone for something a bit more unique
