Apart from all this, I had another reason to watch this movie, that is "Train to Busan". One of my favorite films. Those who have not seen it, must check out this movie. Must, must, I highly recommend this movie. Because, zombie movies can be made at such a level, you may not understand that if you do not see "Train to Busan".

The director of "Train to Busan" has directed this movie. So, there was an expectation from the beginning that this movie would be good. I saw the movie, two hours running length. How was the movie? I will talk about that in this review.

Did this movie reach the level of "Train to Busan" or not reach the level of "Train to Busan"?

Before that, if I tell you a little about the story - look, the plot is very short, so I will reveal a little bit of the story to you. In a South Korean city, a murderer is getting a response from prison, his sentence has been served. He is getting out of prison. After getting out of prison, he is following a girl. The girl is going to enter the church, the murderer is also going to enter the church. The girl is leaving the church, but the murderer is not leaving the church, he is staying in the church.

Suddenly, then the news comes that the girl has not returned home from the church. Someone picked her up in the middle of the road. The blame usually falls on the murderer. Now let's see, did the murderer kidnap the girl? Or did the murderer pick up the girl? Or is there some other reason behind it or is there someone else's hand? This movie is going to be about all of these.

Now if we talk about its positive and negative aspects—

Look, there are many positive aspects that have to be mentioned. And there are also some negative aspects that I did not expect.

First of all, the positive aspect that I will talk about—

The basic plot line of the story is good. And the way the church angle has been inserted into the basic plot line, the religion angle has been inserted and some of the problems of the people have been discussed here in the story, that is very good. The basic plot line is not very big, but it is very effective. A good movie could have been made with that.

And the way the church angle has been inserted into this story—how the church works, what is the importance of the church in a person's life, what activities the church is doing there, how it is doing—the way these things are shown, the way religion has been brought up in the story, that's good.

And along with that, some human nature has been talked about here, or some human problems that maybe if we look at the people around us a little better, we might see there too. For example, there are some people around us who are always a little afraid. No matter what work they go to, they are very afraid—"This work will not be done, it will not be done, I will not be able to do it"—there is such fear and fear. There are many people who are a little skeptical and always have a little more doubt in everything.

Or there are some people who always think that someone is continuously following them. Some such human problems have been talked about here too, which is good. Here it is shown that a person is doing some work and the work he is doing, he thinks that God is giving him orders—he is doing it because God says so.

Again, there is someone who says that a one-eyed monster is coming to kill him. Or there is a character who is very traumatized from his past, he always thinks that his past is chasing him, the past is following him. The human problems that are talked about are discussed in good detail and that is quite nice to watch.

This movie is made of slow treatment, and while showing these things, the slow treatment is quite nice to watch. Along with that, there is an Edge of the Seat moment in the entire movie, in the very last portion, right at the climax. The Edge of the Seat moment comes out well in that scene. The thriller portion comes out quite well there, but it connects you. That place is quite nice to watch. But that comes for a very short time, at the very end of the movie.

But the thriller portion is quite good in that place. Korean movies have come to Netflix, so you can understand that the look and feel will be good there, that money will be poured into it and made, you can understand where that money has been spent in the entire movie, how good the look and feel is.

The technicality is very strong. Starting from the color tone, starting from the sound design, they are quite good. The performances are good here. Everyone who has performed here has performed fairly well here. Yes, it is not at all extraordinary, maybe not like the outstanding performance that we usually see in Korean movies or series. But it is okay, you will like it.

This subject, the performance goes with the subject. Especially here, the one who is playing the role of a priest—meaning the father of the church—played that role, he played it outstandingly. It was nice to see him.

This was a fairly positive aspect.

Now the negative side—

Despite all the positive aspects, this movie is not a good movie. The expectations I had going into it were not fulfilled. For this one negative aspect, it is the writing of this movie.

The writing here does not have any thrill, suspense, or edge-of-the-seat moments. Except for a little five-ten minutes of that last one. "Train to Busan" was made by this maker. And if you see how "Train to Busan" was made, the same emotion works very well in this movie.

(I forgot to mention the positive side—emotion works very well.) And if you watch "Train to Busan" too, he worked the emotion very well there. But in "Train to Busan" there is emotion, drama, and all that - then there are all the other things that were there, in addition to those, the thrill portion was also worked very well.

"Train to Busan" had all the things, but they were placed very well in place. In "Train to Busan", you will see, the father-daughter relationship, a lot of time was taken there, and the emotion works towards the end. But even after having that emotion, even after wasting time on drama, "Train to Busan" can provide us with Edge of the Seat moments properly when those zombie scenes enter. That's when we feel that, yes, this is a balanced movie. First, the emotion is focused on the drama, then the Edge of the Seat moments provide us with everything.

But here, Edge of the Seat has to go in many places. Every time you think, "Bro, this is coming, this is probably a portion of thrill, the moment has been created, this is an Edge of the Seat moment." But it doesn't come. Every time you watch it, you think, "This is coming, this is coming," you get disappointed. Except for the last portion, the thriller portion doesn't work anywhere here. There is no thriller portion here.

It plays on emotion, the drama plays on drama. And the emotion works well here. But how can you watch a thriller movie without thrill? There is not even a drop of thrill in the entire movie. Why doesn't the thrill work more in it?

Why doesn't the thrill work more, you know? The way things are arranged here, they become predictable. Things like magic start happening. Some characters who were introduced in the beginning of the movie were given value and we were shown that they were important characters. But later on, those characters vanish.

Like—the character of the priest, the character of the priest's wife. Here is a girl, the character of her mother. Here is a policeman, the character of her father. These characters were shown with great importance in the beginning. I thought that these characters would probably be associated with me till the end, but they would also give some input in this story.

But later on, it is seen that these characters were just shown at the beginning, that is, just shown. Later on, the characters vanish, the characters have no more work. So there, I would say, at that point, the thrill portions do not come out properly for us. They could have done a good job of the drama portion there, but that part doesn't come up.

So, this movie has a lot of writing problems here. The writing has improved in one direction, and the remaining thriller portion, which should have been the base of this movie, has been completely ruined by the writing portion.

This movie is definitely not a movie at the level of "Train to Busan". Still, you can watch it at least once. Those who like slow treatment, like watching Korean movies or series, can check out the movie once.

I found this movie to be a pretty average movie. I found it to be a one-time watch movie. This was the review of the Korean movie "Revelations".

How did you like the review? Don't forget to let me know. See you in the next review. Until then, bye bye, take care and be safe.
