Hi, everyone!

I missed the last edition due to a lack of NEPA supply in my area. So I'm back to participate in today's featured contest.

In earlier eras, we had a series of movies that we learned morals and values from. Like puppets for children, at least moderate for children to learn. Then, folktales and movies emanating from past histories of our state were acted for the next generation to learn. Simple movies with simple characters with virtue and attributes were displayed for children and adults to watch and emulate these characters in their daily lives.

Then, we had the protagonist, antagonist, or villain that reveals their true character that was on stage or behind the scenes. Movies were oriented to change the perspective of society, and people, to teach, reinforce, implement, and emulate what is good and neglect the negative part of it, which is our true nature. Movies were meant to educate, influence lives positively, and entertain people.

However, things have changed, and no longer it was in that time. There were no rampant criminal activities involved in the cinema because our society wasn't exposed to that level, let me say this way.

I watched this movie that modeled my life the way it is today. It was about a young girl who went to school; in her first year of schooling, she encountered a handsome man who was wooing her, and she eventually entered the trap; she was pregnant, and she couldn't further her education as intended when she started. She was intelligent and beautiful. In the course of the pregnancy, she was evicted from the house by her parents. All the positive intentions they had for her were aborted, and she couldn't go further. This movie I watched at that time helped me till I finished my second school and my higher institution. I learned a lot and it remains fresh in my brain.

Another one I watched was the young ones helping the elderly people, be their parents or not. There is a blessing attached to it. I helped elderly people till today.

Furthermore, movies about prostitution were also rampant at that time, and it contributed negatively to our society. Young girls, after watching this movie, did the practical aspect of it and it was a bad influence on our youths. Not only the criminal activities were much involved, but other activities that created negative influence were showcased or played on stage.

Therefore, having criminal activities played in the movies would invoke the wrong spirit of stealing in our young people. Going from house to house with guns, sharp objects, or tools to destroy people and go with their properties. Sometimes, as a way of threatening them to get their belongings.

Criminal activities should be eliminated or altered from being played on movies, cinemas, phones, and other social media platforms.

Criminal activities in movies are increasing the rate of crimes in our society and if this was not played as a character in the movie, it wouldn't have added to society. What we see and hear also contributes to our society.

This post is in response to the #Hivelearner's featured contest.
