Seven Kings must Die ~ The best conclusion.
One of the shows I catch on my radar every couple of months is The Last Kingdom. I think it is probably one of the best Middle Ages shows, if anything a single minute of it is better than the entire Game of Thrones.
Yes, Game of Thrones will always be the greatest trash after Kardashians.
The Last Kingdom follows Uhtred who is a Viking born as a Saxon, on his mission to reclaim his fathers' land he basically raises all hell.
Uhtred has the uncanny ability to survive anything you throw at him and one oath at a time climbs the ranks and gains the favour of plebs to kings.
There are 5 seasons and although I have not watched the 5th season I think skipping ahead this year and just watching the movie tied it all up perfectly for me.
Seven Kings Must Die
The movie I assume is because there just is not enough to fill a season. Considering how good it is I would say it was a great choice to give a solid final experience.
Instead of doing something like Dollhouse who just up and cut the episodes and boom they are gone.
Seven Kings Must Die chose to give a definite close to the series, and although I did not watch the last season I don't need to know what happened to the Queen and her silly child I recall over the one in the movie.
There are some parts which it would be good to know who they are referring to but mostly I recall the arcing story from previous seasons so it is not like I felt lost at any point.
As for the story itself, I think it progresses quite fast , really just fast enough as you start thinking "OMG someone die already." Then someone does die, and another and another.
If that sounds a bit harsh it actually isn't, the violence itself is more implied and you hardly see anyone head get cut off.
As Uhtred has finally claimed his castle he still has one oath to complete, and if you know anything about him it is never as straightforward as just doing it.
Oh he will do it but first he will test the patience and grace of everyone involved. Justifiably so, and the result is him pushing the creation of a tyrant only to bring it all back home.
As all of Britian and the isles rise up unified to face off against the current King of Winchester, Uhtred just keeps a sauntering from one battle field to the next putting pieces in place for a united land.
More importantly to fulfil his oath, and in the end...

Really?!
I scrolled past this and thought it looked like a rip off of Vikings.
Now I'll have to give it a go!
Copy that.
I still haven't had time to watch and read the bookmarked stuff... on my radar.
Happy Sunday, P 💓
I think it is pretty good, I liked vikings also until he broke up with his wife they pissed me off so I stopped watching lol. Have a good day too.
Oh yeah
He was so hot until then! Then he was just a bit of a doos with beautiful eyes and a cool hairstyle.
I also didn't finish watching the series.
Okay. Now I'm fully in. 👌🏻
Happy Monday, P :D
Yeah, uhtred of bebbanburg had to go through several BS in the hand of those Saxon Kings. He wasn't the best mate for Vikings either since the name 'Dane Slayer' made them uncomfortable around him. Haha. Yet, everyone knew what he was capable of.
I saw the movie during midweek and I also think it's a good wrap to the entire series. After all, "Destiny Is All".
