Robot & Frank, a look into the near future

A story about the friendship between a former jewel thief (Frank) and the robot companion given to him by his son when he could no longer look after himself.

Robots are machines that specialise in taking care of people. Frank refuses to accept help, but he has no other options, and over time they begin to understand each other in a very close and uneasy relationship, until he comes up with the idea of planning one last "job", with the help of robots.

A simple film about a not-too-distant future with a very different artificial intelligence, a sentient, talking robot, as the main character caring for the elderly.

It could be labelled as science fiction, but it doesn't fit the genre.

A great performance by Frank Langella and a great cast with Susan Sarandon, James Marsden, Liv Tyler and Peter Sarsgaard as robots.
