Linsday Lohan's Iconic History

I grew up with Lindsay Lohan starring in the classic movies The Parent Trap, Freaky Friday, and the iconic Mean Girls.

Like most child stars, Lindsay had stepped out of the lime light for a few years. After focusing on herself, she has returned with three rom-com movies on Netflix, and more upcoming movies that will excite her fans!

Falling for Christmas (2022)

In 2022, Lohan has starred in Falling for Christmas on Netflix. In this movie, she plays an engaged heirress who experiences amnesia. In classic rom-com fashion, she re-discovers herself and falls in love with a guy working at the lodge she's staying.

What I truly enjoyed is that this movie embracse Lohan in her joy and glory. In fact, she gets to sing Jingle Bell Rocks as a nod to her role as Cady Heron in Mean Girls.

To me, this was the start of Lindsay Lohan's comeback to being a pop icon! Interestingly, the Falling For Christmas movie was shown during Netflix's Hot Frosty (2024) in which Lohan's Mean Girls co-star states that the actress looks like a girls he went to school with.

Netflix, I love these references!

Irish Wish (2024)

Earlier this year, Lohan also starred in Irish Wish. In this movie, Lohan's character wishes to be with her editor. Her wish comes true overnight thanks to Saint Brigit.

Only on her Wedding Day did she realise that the guy she wished for, was not the guy who was right for her. It's a similar feels-good moment when she realises the guy she should be in love with has been there all along.

Although we can see the outcome coming from the start of the movie, it is a lovely rom-com journey and I loved every little minute. Sometimes, movies are just meant to make you feel good!

Our Little Secret (2024)

Lindsay continues her iconic legacy with another Christmas rom-com, released this week on 27th November 2024.

The story starts with herself as Avery, staying over her boyfriend's family Christmas. Once she gets there, she is introduced to her sister-in-law's boyfriend, which turns out to be her ex from ten years before.

They decide to keep their history a secret during the stay. The movie packs good comedy and a nod to her Mean Girls era with "Oh, so you think she's pretty" line that Lohan delivered so excellently.

Freakier Friday (2025)

Perhaps the most exciting is the upcoming Freaky Friday sequel, Freakier Friday. Lindsay Lohan will return alongside the previous co-star Jamie Lee Curtis.

I love how Netflix has embraced Lohan and embraced her comeback; and now it's time for her to be back in theatres. With Freakier Friday being a sequel, this will likely be one of the most watched movies in 2025, gathering attention from previous fans and new ones alike.

Which of her movies is your favourite? Mine has to be Mean Girls, which is consistently quoted within pop culture and queer communities.

I liked a lot Mean girls when I saw it many years ago.
This year, I saw Irish wish and I really liked it. It was entertaining. This movie is a invitation to think if you really want what you want.
I have to see the other movies with Lindsay Lohan.
Great post.
