Movie Review: Skyscraper – An Action Thriller Film

Skyscraper movie was produced in the year 2018 and stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who acted as Will Sawyer, a husband and father of two kids. He lost a leg in a past mission and took a new job as a security consultant. He was assigned the task of ensuring the safety of a building, "The Pearl", the world's tallest and most advanced skyscraper in Hong Kong.
Along the line, things turned around and lost control when a group of terrorists set the building on fire and Will was framed for the disaster. The worst part was that his family were trapped inside, leaving him to save his wife and kids and also clear his name as the police suspected him.

The movie added an emotional weight as Will's friend, Ben betrayed him. It was obvious he was being threatened to snatch the tablet, a device that was controlling access to The Pearl's security system, from Will. At first, Ben pretended to be on his side but it turned out he was working for the terrorists. He made the first plan for them to come rob him, looking like a robbery attack at an open place, but fortunately for Will, he had the tablet in his pocket while they hijacked a box from him thinking it was in there.
But when Ben discovered the mission was unsuccessful, he tried to steal the device which led to a struggle. Will was shocked that he was betrayed and that his friend was being threatened and had no choice, still the kind Will tried to help and save him, but during their struggle, he was accidentally shot and died right in Will's arms.
This scene got me emotional and it made me realize that even friends can turn against you under pressure.

Another scene that caught me was the courage the wife had just to save herself and the kids from the fire. Neve Campbell, who played the role of Sarah, showed a resilient spirit and courageous act as she struggled with her kids, especially their son, who was asthmatic.
I thought the boy wouldn't survive due to the thick smoke and rising flames but Sarah's quick thinking and their determination to escape kept the hope alive. Their fight for survival despite the odds added emotional depth that was beyond the actions in the movie.

Then the insane and crazy part was how Will manually climbed the exterior of the skyscraper. It was a breathtaking scene, but it felt intense. He had no other option to enter the building as the elevators were out of service due to the fire. Every moment was gripping as I saw a man's strength and willpower, together with a strategy to reach his family. I realized what length a father would go to save his loved ones.
Even when Sarah got out, the police still refused to believe her that Will was innocent. For a while, it seemed like no one was on his side. Eventually, the truth unfolded, Will was cleared of the false charges, and his family was reunited in safety.
At that point, I felt satisfied that justice prevailed even though one has to go through such ordeals.
Lessons learned from the movie: Skyscraper

One of the lessons I took from this movie is that family is everything and one would do just anything to save their loved ones. Will proved his determination even when everyone was against him. That alone is proof that love and courage can push us to do the impossible.
Another lesson is that loyalty can be tested when under pressure. I felt for Ben as he had to end his life that way. Perhaps, Will could have helped him if he had opened up to him, but his desperation pushed him into making terrible decisions.
Never give up no matter what. Persistence can lead to victory even in the darkest moments. Sarah and her children fight for survival while Will does the impossible by climbing the tallest building to save his family.
I would rate this movie a 4/5 as it delivered well. The fun and actions made the movie entertaining.

...and if it's interesting, send 2 HBD to me ASAP 🙂
I have watched this movie countless times that my DVD player is complaining. Dwayne Johnson really delivered in this movie and I got to see him in a new light.
I like how the kids were obedient and cooperative. They did not start wailing and shouting or throwing tantrums around. They were sting for their age.
The Singaporean police guy too was sensible, although not at first but I like how he was not biased and decided to follow facts instead and in the end, he caught the bad guys.
Nice movie review sis👍
