Chasing Coral es un Documental de Netflix con temática en los preciosos arrecifes que están por todo el mundo, se recorren lugares como Hawai, Australia, entre otros para mostrarnos y explicarnos un fenómeno natural poco conocido que requiere una atención la cual no ha tenido en décadas y este documental justo quiere servir de mensajero sobre esa situación que esta afectando la calidad de vida de los corales en el mundo.

En el documental explican como base de lo que quieren plantear que un arrecife pueden imaginarlo como una urbe y la arquitectura de esta son los corales que alojan todo un ecosistemas de seres vivos acuáticos, si vieron "Buscando a Nemo", en ese film justo sale un arrecife famoso llamado La Gran Barrera de Coral que justo exploran en este producto y estoy seguro que el primer conflicto que vendrá a tu mente es el saber que El Coral es un ser viviente.
Esto último es de peso en el documental y engancha a la audiencia, yo no sabía que un Coral es un ser vivo, tuve que tomarme unos minutos para procesar hasta que pensé en el jardín de mi casa que con sanas condiciones pues simplemente sigue creciendo y abarcando todas las afueras de mi hogar, pienso esta es la mejor forma que puedo transmitir que lo que ven en imágenes , gif de este post y referencias de la cultura popular como en el film "Buscando a Nemo" son Corales y que están vivos.

Esto parece tan sencillo y como nombre anteriormente le da peso al documental porque a través de las explicaciones de una Bióloga Marina, nos indican que no solo son seres vivos, si no que son de los mas complejos en el planeta, esto es un conocimiento de valor enorme para cualquiera que lo vea porque muchos puede piensen como yo y que los vieran solo como estructuras donde viven peces tal y como se muestra en "Buscando a Nemo" pero hay mucho mas.
Al ser seres vivos pues estos pueden morir, esta es la gran sorpresa del documental y nos muestran con lujo de detalle el proceso de fallecimiento en un Coral, hasta este punto valoro la información pero claro no veo el problema porque lo que viene a mi mente es que todo ser nace para luego vivir y después morir PERO hay agentes externos que están ocasionando esto.

Generalmente usamos las redes para compartir fotos de nuestro que hacer diario, fiestas, etc pero eso no creo haga un cambio de peso para mejorar el mundo que nos rodea a menos que le demos ese enfoque a algunos de esos contenidos. Este mismo conflicto se maneja de manera análoga por parte de uno de los miembros del documental que era publicista de papel toilet pero en su corazón lo que ama son los Corales y observo que estaban muriendo masivamente en el planeta, es allí donde veo que tiene una epifanía que sirve de ejemplo para quienes le escuchen y aprovechen el poder que esta a su alcance para un propósito útil.
La balanza para mi esta clara, el papel toilet no esta por encima de la vida de estos Corales que a causa del cambio climático perecen, este es el mensaje de mayor valor en el documental porque lo único que busca es que las personas sepan que esto esta sucediendo y yo como creador de contenido sirvo de eco útil dejando el link de la pagina chasingcoral para mayor información sobre esta situación porque el mayor poder es el conocimiento.
- Detalles a Criticar sobre el Documental:
Nos muestran el paso a paso para poder filmar la muerte de un arrecife pero pienso es un tiempo que se pudo aprovechar mejor para mostrar otras cosas de mayor valor, llego un punto en el que pensé que estaba viendo un Documental de Instalación de Cámaras y ese no es para nada el objetivo de esto.
La premisa esta bien planteada porque si atrae con el planteamiento de Corales como seres vivos lo cual manifesté en la zona sin spoilers, entonces me parece que mostrar mas de su Biología, el como establece un Ecosistema, mostrarnos la belleza de varios tipos de Coral para generar simpatía y así luego valorar su función en la naturaleza, pienso es en esto en lo que se debió enfocar mas el producto.
