Since I was a child I have seen Alien films and as an adult it has become a saga that with its suspense, its terror, with its bizarre scenes and ideas, takes me back to those moments when I watched movies with my father as a child.
Alien Romulus is a movie that you can enjoy in theaters, in my case I happily went along with my old classmate that I had not seen since college and the question they asked me as a general public not familiar with this saga is if they could see it without seeing the previous ones and the answer if that is your doubt too, is a resounding yes, you can see it and enjoy it without depending on another movie to understand it.
Now if you are part of that public fan of this entire franchise, the film I consider meets all the basic ingredients of Alien to be an outstanding film, in fact I give it a 7 out of 10 because I liked what I saw, it is a fan service but it is well distributed in a simple story that allows you to enjoy all those winks.
In my case what I enjoyed the most were those Alien Prometheus and Alien Covenant moments because those two films go beyond the xenomorph story and try to take it to another level, it is not at its fullness because I will always want to see the complete story of those films but I enjoy and celebrate the fact that what was seen in those films stands out in Romulus.
The most critical point to criticize would be the fact that it is a fan service film, winking at everything that came before so it lacks an individual concept that gives it its unique shape, I think it will be remembered for being a mix, a salad of all the previous films in the saga.
If you are a fan of the entire franchise I think you will enjoy the film and if you specifically bought into the Prometheus philosophy, let's celebrate that it hasn't been left behind. Desde pequeño he visto los films de Alien y ya con la adultez se convierte en una saga que con su suspenso, su terror, con lo bizarro de sus escenas e ideas vuelve a trasladarme gratamente a esos momentos que de niño veía películas con mi papa.
Alien Romulus es una película que puedes disfrutar en los cines, en mi caso fui felizmente junto con compañero de antaño que no veía desde la universidad y la pregunta que ellos me hicieron como público general no conocedor de esta saga es si podían verla sin necesidad de ver las anteriores y la respuesta si esa es tu duda también, es un rotundo sí, puedes verla y disfrutarla sin depender de otra película para entenderla.
Ahora si eres parte de ese público fan de toda esta franquicia, la película considero cumple con todos los ingredientes básicos del Alien para ser una película sobresaliente, de hecho le doy un 7 de 10 porque me agrado lo que vi, es un fan service si pero está bien distribuido en una historia simple que permite disfrutar de todos esos guiños.
En mi caso lo que más disfrute fueron esos momentos Alien Prometheus y Alien Covenant porque esos dos films van más allá en la historia del xenomorfo e intentan llevarla a otro nivel, no está a su plenitud porque siempre querré ver la historia completa de aquellos films pero disfruto y celebro el hecho de que lo visto en aquellos films se destaca en Romulus.
El punto más a criticar sería el hecho de que es una película fan service, guiño de todo lo anterior entonces carece de un concepto individual que le dé su forma única, pienso será recordada por ser una mezcla, una ensalada de todos los films anteriores de la saga.
Si eres Fan de toda la franquicia pienso disfrutaras la película y si específicamente te casaste con la filosofía del Prometheus, celebremos que aquello no se ha dejado de lado.
