This is a movie that sends a message to lovers, anyone in relationship or anyone planning to be in one someday, for a relationship to be balanced and enjoyable, the two opposite gender coming together as one must learn to understand and support each other before taking a life long commitment, if this is not established beforehand then such relationship is bound to crumble no matter how hard you try to make it work, something will surely be missing, this is what happened to the characters involved in this movie; Morgan and Hill who were married for 11 years and after 11 years they both got divorced because they didn’t establish the understanding they needed to have beforehand, now after the divorce they try to mend things up but it wasn’t working because Morgan already knew he will never understand her, but because of her property which was in his possession after the divorce, she tried to make it work until Robert came into the picture and changed everything…

Robert, a hard working black man who was cheated on by the girlfriend whom he had been with for 2 years and his boss who supposedly calls himself his friend, Robert was sacked by his boss and was forced to leave his workplace because of this act, he got home only to find his so called materialistic girlfriend Mita leaving him for another man because he is no longer employed, which means he can’t afford to take care of her again, is this what love is ???…

I think black coffee is an awesome movie, it really explains why we must understand our partner before getting them into a life long commitment, because the future of not just one but the both of you are at stake if anything goes wrong, Mita betrayed Robert, but he found his soulmate after the breakup, I guess their relationship wasn’t meant to be in the first place…

I believe what made the relationship of these involved characters crumble was because, they never understood their partner before taking the next step, in Morgan and Hill’s case, I think she made the joy of marrying him because she thought her admiration of him was love, which means she was confused because she was too young to understand love, and it took her 11 good years to understand the mistake she made those years, which cost her her property of 2.3 million dollars…

In the case of Robert and Mita, I think this was just a case of choosing the wrong partner, I also feel like it was an issue of one sided love, Mita never loved Robert but because he was in love with her, he saw her excessive demand for money as her way of expressing love to him, at the end of today she showed her true colors when he got sacked from his job…

I think this movie tells a bigger story then what it appears to be, I am happy that at the end of the day, each and every one of the character involved found real love after making few wrong choices…
