Dentro de 24 horas se darán a conocer los ganadores de los premios Oscar, estos premios son otorgados por la Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias Cinematográficas (AMPAS) de EEUU , y son unos de los premios mas importantes en el mundo de la cinematografía, ya que tiene una gran relevancia a nivel internacional.
En este post les voy a nombrar 3 películas, que son para mi, las favoritas para llevarse el trofeo de Película del año. Antes de dar mi valoración, tengo que decir que este año están en competencia películas de altísimo nivel, decididamente fue un añ loo bastante fructífero dentro del 7mo arte, por lo que hacer una selección es sumamente difícil.

Within 24 hours will be announced the winners of the Oscars, these awards are given by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) of USA, and are one of the most important awards in the world of cinematography, as it has a great international relevance.
In this post I am going to name 3 films, which are for me, the favorites to win the trophy for Film of the Year. Before giving my assessment, I have to say that this year there are films of the highest level in competition, it was definitely a very fruitful year in the 7th art, so making a selection is extremely difficult.

Oppenheimer

La película dirigida por Christopher Nolan, nos brinda un thriller biográfico sobre el físico estadounidense Julius Robert Oppenheimer, principal autor y líder del proyecto nuclear norteamericano, que termina con la creación de la bomba atómica ,su utilización en Japón, y sus consecuencias y repercusión posteriores, ya sean morales o políticas.

Este filme tiene un guion lleno de saltos temporales, conviviendo en el mismo metraje, y que va poco a poco, mostrándonos la visión del director acerca de un tema tan polémico y poco tratado en el cine.

Aunque tiene un elenco de gran nivel, hay tres actores que deslumbran dentro del filme: Cillian Murphy como J. Robert Oppenheimer, Robert Downey Jr. como Lewis Strauss y Emily Blunt como Katherine «Kitty» Oppenheimer. La película utiliza una combinación de películas IMAX de 65 mm y de gran formato de 65 mm, y un caso curioso dentro del rodaje, fue que en verdad usaron la explosión de una bomba nuclear, omitiendo hacerla en CGI.

*The film directed by Christopher Nolan, offers us a biographical thriller about the American physicist Julius Robert Oppenheimer, main author and leader of the American nuclear project, which ends with the creation of the atomic bomb, its use in Japan, and its subsequent consequences and repercussions, whether moral or political.

This film has a script full of time jumps, coexisting in the same footage, and that goes little by little, showing us the director's vision about such a controversial and little treated subject in the cinema.

Although it has a high level cast, there are three actors who dazzle within the film: Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer, Robert Downey Jr. as Lewis Strauss and Emily Blunt as Katherine "Kitty" Oppenheimer. The film uses a combination of 65 mm IMAX and 65 mm large format film, and a curious case within the shooting was that they actually used the explosion of a nuclear bomb, omitting to do it in CGI.*

Killers of the Flower Moon

La última película de Martin Scorsese, trata sobre una serie de asesinatos de miembros y parientes de la Nación Osage después de que se descubriera petróleo en tierras tribales. Toda una historia de traición, ambición, muerte, y lo peor, basado en hechos reales y que sinceramente desconocía.

La ambientación y el estilo de realización nos recuerda a las películas western de hace años, se nota la mano de un director con experiencia como Scorsese en cada encuadre, en cada sonido emitido, en cada fotograma del filme.

En las actuaciones vemos de nuevo a Leonardo DiCaprio, demostrando que aun es uno de los actores fetiches del director, tenemos a un experimentado y a la vez renovado Robert De Niro, que demuestra que aun le quedan años en el cine, y la gran revelación del filme es Lily Gladstone, que es una de las favoritas para llevarse la estatuilla a mejor actriz, que ya esta haciendo historia al ser la primera mujer indígena en ganar un Globo de Oro, y también se llevó el SAG.

Martin Scorsese a los 81 años, se convirtió en el nominado de mayor edad a Mejor Director y obtuvo su décima nominación a Mejor Director, siendo el que más nominaciones al Oscar tiene para esa categoría (incluida una victoria anterior). Tambien es importante saber que tuvo el apoyo de la comunidad Osage para la realizacion del filme, quienes se involucraron en toda la produccion en varios departamentos.

*Martin Scorsese's latest film is about a series of murders of members and relatives of the Osage Nation after oil was discovered on tribal lands. A story of betrayal, ambition, death, and worst of all, based on real events that I honestly did not know about.

The setting and style of filmmaking reminds us of the western films of years ago, the hand of an experienced director like Scorsese is noticeable in every frame, in every sound emitted, in every frame of the film.

In the performances we see again Leonardo DiCaprio, showing that he is still one of the fetish actors of the director, we have an experienced and at the same time renewed Robert De Niro, who shows that he still has years left in the cinema, and the great revelation of the film is Lily Gladstone, who is one of the favorites to win the statuette for best actress, who is already making history by being the first indigenous woman to win a Golden Globe, and also took the SAG.

Martin Scorsese, at 81, became the oldest nominee for Best Director and earned his tenth nomination for Best Director, making him the oldest Oscar nominee in that category (including a previous win). It is also important to know that he had the support of the Osage community in the making of the film, who were involved throughout the production in various departments.*

Poor Things

Esta película es tan compleja y diferente, que no hay un género específico para catalogarla, va desde la comedia, fantasía, ciencia ficción, aventuras, hasta subgéneros como el romance gótico y el misterio dramático.

Yorgos Lanthimos, su director, nos tiene acostumbrados a este estilo propio de contar historias, original y poco convencional, pero que a su vez, llama la atención del espectador. Todo esto adornado de una excelente fotografía, una ambientación y dirección de arte única, y sobre todo, de muy buenas actuaciones, sobre todo de Emma Stone en el papel protagónico, acompañada por Mark Ruffalo y por un increíble e irreconocible Willem Dafoe.

Esta película me recuerda la ganadora del año pasado, Everything Everywhere All At Once, llena de creatividad , con una estética bien marcada, y que te transmite varias ideas y sensaciones al terminar de verla.

Yorgos Lanthimos, its director, has accustomed us to his own style of storytelling, original and unconventional, but that in turn, draws the attention of the viewer. All this adorned with excellent photography, a unique setting and art direction, and above all, very good performances, especially by Emma Stone in the lead role, accompanied by Mark Ruffalo and an incredible and unrecognizable Willem Dafoe.

This film reminds me of last year's winner, Everything Everywhere All At Once, full of creativity, with a well marked aesthetic, and that transmits you several ideas and sensations when you finish watching it.*

Como ven son tres películas diferentes, pero muy bien realizadas, dignas de ganar el premio a la mejor película del año. Dentro de horas veremos cual de ellas será la triunfadora.
