Prison Break: Scraping the Netflix Barrel, but Enjoying it Nonetheless!

So I'd heard of Prison Break, I guess it must be a 'classic' TV series, and so I thought I'd give it a go when it came up in my suggested viewing on Netflix.

I'm not quite sure why I watched the whole five series, well not quite all of them, I did a lot of fastforwarding through just to see where it would all end up.

In fact I think that's essential when some of these series span into 22 episodes, with literally nothing to be gained from that other than more advertising revenue. All of the series would have benefitted from a good 20% cut in air-time.

I mean I did find it enjoyable overall, but man there are a lot of problems with it...

Tedious false start formula

I mean this was a problem from the outset: OK Michaels in Prison to break his brother out his Brother and we all know this isn't going to happen on the first attempt, but honestly how many false-starts, I can't remember but it started to get ridiculous by episode 10 when Michael's still inside, which is when I checked how many episodes there were for the first time and WTF... 22?!

And so it went on, and on, and on!

Chicken Licken...

And in that first series they ended up picking up about 8 people I think it was all trying to break out when it should've been four originally, just SILLY!

The holes...

So many, for a start that body tattoo with literally the whole plan which allowed that FBI dude in series two to figure out he was going to get on a sail boat in Panama, I mean, honestly, you can't remember the shack you went to a few months back in Panama or the name of the boat you paid for?

And of course the end of season five where he's tattooed his arch-enemy's face on the back of his hands which lets him get through the face scanner to his den, OH COME ON!

Just Bullshit.

And of course the father and son who somehow drive from Panama to Colombia despite the 200KM Darian gap being in the way.

But I did enjoy it...!

Despite the holes it was a rather enjoyable fantastical watch..... it kept me hooked enough to know how it ended up, which was happy enough in the end I guess!

Oh I did enjoy the tech dating it all too!

And Robert Knepper as T Bag, superb!

I'll leave it to you whether you watch it, I'm kind of thinking I could have spent that 50 hours (I did a lot of FFding! more productively!)

Season 1 was good, very tense.. it's over a decade ago since I watched it. Season 3 is OK too, the seasons when they are in prison are the best.
