RE: "The First Slam Dunk" the quintessential sport's film.

I haven't watched it since I first heard its premier back then. The art style just doesn't resonate well with me (maybe because I'm really stuck with its '90s art style and also the manga?), and although their movements are a lot smoother in the present animation, still I missed the old one...it a shame that its sequel in 90s got canceled because the exciting part really started after where it ended in anime.
Anyway, the only thing that somehow intrigued me in this movie is that Inoue-sensei gave us Ryota's backstory—family backstory. Even Sakuragi's family backstory wasn't delved in both anime and manga, so I guess I'll try to watch this one for Ryota's backstory (because I really assumed before that Ayako was the only reason why he plays basketball ahahaha).
Btw, thanks for sharing, this one is really a nice reminder that I should give this movie a shot.
