The plot was heartbreakingly nice because it didn't follow the conventional happy endings in anime. I haven't watched the movie before but it's apparent that it used the cherry blossoms to symbolize Tono and Akari's beautiful yet fleeting love. You've mentioned that Tono can't move on and like blossoming of cherry blossoms every year, that love will always be something that may not be always present but it's something that's there, always there... awwwww
Btw, thanks for sharing >v<! It's interesting yet I think I don't feel the need to watch it now especially that you perfectly summarized its plot, but fret not because I often forget, so maybe I'll encounter it again and will watch it in the future~
You have mentioned it beautifully, I didn't notice this fact about the cherry blossom thing. I can view it in a different way now. Thank you for your valuable time, even though you know the story, hopefully you won't get bored if you watch it now.
