En esta oportunidad voy a hacer una reseña sobre La Batalla Olvidada.

Ésta película fue estrenada en el año 2020 y transmitida en Netflix. Es del género Bélgica, con una duración de 2 horas, el origen es neerlandés, es decir; de los países bajos.

This time I am going to review The Forgotten Battle.

La trama se centra en la vida de 3 jóvenes cuyo destino estará por ponerlos frente a frente.

Año 1944 ya por finalizar la segunda guerra mundial, las tierras holandesas recibieron la invasión de los nazis desde hace un par de años atrás y los neerlandeses se debieron adaptar a este régimen fascista.

Un joven holandés entusiasmado con la guerra, quizás envuelto por los discursos y el poder de convencimiento de Hitler, decide unirse voluntariamente al ejército nazi división SS.

Su padre lo enfrenta duramente por querer servir en contra de su propio pueblo, pero éste igual se une al frente de batalla.

Rápidamente se da cuenta de que la guerra no es un juego y que a cada paso que da lo que encuentra es destrucción y muerte.

The plot focuses on the lives of 3 young people whose destiny will be to put them face to face.

The year 1944, already at the end of the Second World War, the Dutch lands received the invasion of the Nazis a couple of years ago and the Dutch had to adapt to this fascist regime.

A young Dutchman, enthusiastic about the war, perhaps involved by Hitler's speeches and convincing power, decides to voluntarily join the Nazi army, SS division.

His father confronts him harshly for wanting to serve against his own people, but he still joins the front lines.

He quickly realizes that war is not a game and that at every step he takes what he finds is destruction and death.

Es un joven callado, valiente,pero que se unió al bando equivocado. Tras una dura ofensiva de los aliados este joven queda herido y es atendido en un hospital junto con otros militares nazis.

Aquí le cae en gracia a un teniente que quedó minusválido, pero que con su influencia logra que coloquen al joven en un trabajo como secretario del general Alemán Berghof. Así de grande era la influencia de ese teniente SS minusválido.

He is a quiet, brave young man who joined the wrong side. After a heavy Allied offensive, he is wounded and is treated in a hospital along with other Nazi soldiers.

Tras el escritorio se dará cuenta de que los Alemanes Nazis no tienen escrúpulos, que son falsos y que simplemente no les importa la vida ni los sentimientos de los neerlandeses.

De esto se da cuenta cuando un médico neerlandés y su hija prácticamente le ruegan para que su hijo, quién le había lanzado una roca a un camión alemán, hizo que este se estrellara y ocasionara daños.

Un notable comportamiento rebelde que requería una justicia dura, según el general, algo imperdonable y que no estaría dispuesto a tolerar, aunque le hizo ver a este padre e hija que iba a darle una sentencia más leve al joven rebelde.

Para ayudar a la hija del médico y darle información sobre su hermano, el joven militar se arriesga y es descubierto, decepcionando al general, ahora el joven sería enviado como castigo a la primera línea de batalla en el río Escalda.

Allí se enfrentaría nuevamente a la cueldad de la guerra.

Su teniente herido, los compañeros acobardados y con ganas de regresar se encuentran en un dilema.

El joven inglés está decidido encontrarse con la compañía canadiense y lo logra navegando en una balsa.

La joven neerlandés ahora que su hermano ha sido fusilado se encuentra decidida a colaborar con la resistencia neerlandés, logra conseguir en el ayuntamiento el mapa de las mareas, un documento muy importante y decisivo para el éxito de la misión.

Ya en la etapa crucial cuando todo está decidido y empieza el enfrentamiento entre nazis y aliados, los dos jóvenes militares se encuentran en una situación donde de vida o muerte, las miradas lo dicen todo.

Using a lie, he convinces his captain that he has his father's permission and they take off in the glider, in what they call flying tombs.

In the air they begin to take fire from Nazi anti-aircraft artillery and fall into a Zeeland field.

Their wounded lieutenant, cowed comrades and eager to return, find themselves in a dilemma.

The young Englishman is determined to meet the Canadian company and succeeds in doing so by sailing on a raft.

The young Dutch girl, now that her brother has been shot, is determined to collaborate with the Dutch resistance and manages to get the tide map, a very important and decisive document for the success of the mission, from the town hall.

Already in the crucial stage when everything is decided and the confrontation between Nazis and Allies begins, the two young soldiers find themselves in a situation where life or death, their looks say it all.

La película está cargada de suspenso, de emociones fuertes, entrega, drama, esperanza.

El joven neerlandés da la impresión de que quiso reivindicar a su pueblo ayudandolos a estos valientes jóvenes, que luchaban para liberar Zelanda de las Ordás fascista de Hitler.

The film is full of suspense, strong emotions, dedication, drama, hope.

The young Dutchman gives the impression that he wanted to vindicate his people by helping these brave young men, who were fighting to liberate Zeeland from the fascist Hitler's fascist orders.

Para que el ejercicio Canadiense pudiera recuperar el puerto de Amberes era necesario tomar el control del río Escalda y por esa razón los nazis aseguraron el único acceso posible.

Sin el mapa de las mareas no iban a poder pasar, sería una masacre. Así que estos tres jóvenes hicieron su parte sin conocerse pero estaban unidos en un solo propósito, la liberación de Zelanda.

Ahora por qué la película se titula la Batalla Olvidada?

Resulta que en la historia de las batallas no toman en cuenta esta batalla de los países bajos, se enfocan más en Polonia, Amberes, Normandía, entre otras, pero la de neerlanda quedó olvidada y por esa razón se produjo esta película que reune muchos aspectos importantes umy decisivos para ir desocupando los territorios nazis.

Now why is the film called the Forgotten Battle?
