366 days on Hive: Misa de medianoche (netflix series review) [17/366]

Feliz Miércoles Hivers, hoy tuvimos un encontró vacante importante en el x space de @web3global donde Hiveblocks fue el host. Creo que estos espacios son muy importantes en el ecosistema web 2, de manera que se vaya creando y fortaleciendo nuestra comunidad, me asombró ver la gran cantidad de más de 1000 personas quienes estuvieron en el espacio junto a otros proyectos.

Pero bueno, yo siempre con mis introducciones y luego pum! A lo que vinimos hahaha. Que por cierto lo de hoy es un bum en las redes sociales. Esta serie la han estado comentando mucho y recomendando, justo por eso es que decidimos verla.

Lo malo de las recomendaciones que cuando se hacen muy virales es que te va creando una expectativa de la trama bastante fuerte, sin embargo, debo reconocer que o tengo mal gusto, poca percepción o simplemente necesito mirar de nuevo está miniserie para poder comprender ese contexto que nunca halle.

La misa de medianoche es tal cual su nombre, algo que por cierto de me hizo bastante raro dado que la mayoría de estos eventos de dan durante el día al menos que sea una misa especial que se hace en horas de tarde a noche.

! [English Text] Happy Wednesday Hivers, today we had an important vacancy in the @web3global x space where Hiveblocks was the host. I think these spaces are very important in the web 2 ecosystem, in order to create and strengthen our community, I was amazed to see the large amount of more than 1000 people who were in the space along with other projects.


But well, me always with my introductions and then bam! To what we came hahaha. By the way, today is a boom in the social networks. This series has been commented a lot and recommended, that's why we decided to watch it.


The bad thing about recommendations that when they become very viral is that it creates a strong expectation of the plot, however, I must admit that either I have bad taste, poor perception or simply need to watch this miniseries again to understand the context that I never found.


The midnight mass is just like its name, something that by the way made me quite strange since most of these events take place during the day unless it is a special mass that takes place in the afternoon or evening hours.

Una de las primeras reacciones que tuve fue un cierto malestar sobre el hecho que se usará los textos bíblicos y la biblia en si como herramienta religiosa para llevar a cabo la trama principal de esta serie.

En la bíblia se habla de muchos hechos del pasado que tienen un significado bastante importante a mi parecer, cosas muy crueles también, y sobre todo algo en particular sobre los milagros.

Este punto es clave en la serie, pues se habla de que la circunstancias de un pueblo en una isla pequeña, va a cambiar con la llegada de un nuevo miembro de la iglesia que vino no solo a traer bendiciones, también ese milagro que necesita la isla para que las personas puedan surgir.

El problema de esta isla se hace ver como todas las consecuencias de derrames petroleros que han contaminado el agua y por ende no hay peces que pescar algo que reduce la actividad economica del mismo y por ende no es atractivo para el turismo.

! [English Text] One of the first reactions I had was a certain uneasiness about the fact that the biblical texts and the bible itself will be used as a religious tool to carry out the main plot of this series.


In the bible it talks about many events of the past that have a quite important meaning in my opinion, very cruel things too, and above all something in particular about miracles.


This point is key in the series, because it talks about how the circumstances of a town on a small island will change with the arrival of a new member of the church who came not only to bring blessings, but also that miracle that the island needs so that people can emerge.


The problem of this island is seen as all the consequences of oil spills that have polluted the water and therefore there are no fish to catch, something that reduces the economic activity of the island and therefore is not attractive for tourism.

El inicio de esta serie la verdad que no tiene un contexto con el desarrollo del mismo. Hay un accidente por alcoholismo donde han persona joven termina muerta. Sin embargo dentro de esta misma escena se hace una crítica bastante atractiva sobre el hecho de que los responsables de estos hechos siempre salen ilesos y los inocentes terminan muertos.

La serie tiene un grado de interes hacia la expiación de las personas desde la rama religiosa. Primero te hacen pensar que la mejor forma de retomar tu vida luego de un caos es acudir a la iglesia y escuchar las palabras de un representante cristiano.

Sin embargo, esto se ve empañado con un evento del pasado, dónde se deja ver algo fuera de lo normal. El encuentro de un humano con un posible ángel, que a simple vista del espectador de ve poco creíble dado a sus rasgos, más bien hace pensar que es una cosa del mal.

Pero, en la mayoría de los capítulos de hace énfasis de que se trata de un ángel que ha llegado para cambiar la vida de estas personas. Y claramente empiezan a ocurrir cosas siniestras y sin explicación alguna natural o científica más que el hecho de tomarse como milagros concedidos por Dios a través de un representante religioso.

! [English Text] The beginning of this series does not really have a context with the development of the series. There is an accident due to alcoholism where a young person ends up dead. However, within this same scene there is a very attractive criticism about the fact that those responsible for these events always come out unscathed and the innocent end up dead.


The series has a degree of interest towards the atonement of people from the religious branch. First you are made to think that the best way to get your life back on track after a chaos is to go to church and listen to the words of a Christian representative.


However, this is clouded with an event from the past, where something out of the ordinary is revealed. The encounter of a human with a possible angel, which at first glance of the viewer looks not very credible given its features, rather makes you think that it is a thing of evil.


But, in most of the chapters it is emphasized that it is an angel who has come to change the lives of these people. And clearly sinister things begin to happen without any natural or scientific explanation other than the fact that they are taken as miracles granted by God through a religious representative.

Como espectador y persona que respeta las religiones en general tome esto como una burla, pues quieren presentar una trama de "secretos de la iglesia" más in embargo no tiene sentido para mí la verdad mostrarlo de esta forma.

Claro está, esto es en un sentido no figurado, no es como si realmente existiera el mal en carne y hueso con el poder de hacer esos "milagros" y utilizar a las personas para esparcir lo que de denota como el nuevo mundo sin sufrimiento ni arrepentimiento.

Se bien que dentro de las religiones hay personas malas, creo que el agregado de escenas bastante grotescas y violentas, además del hecho de que se use la imagen de una bestia parecía a un vampiro con la posibilidad de ser un ángel, fue bastante irrespetuoso.

Si bien con esta serie quisieron de alguna manera crear polémica en las religiones creo que lo han conseguido bastante. Y ni hablo en un sentido general, basta que alguien como yo u otras personas con alguna creencia mire esta serie desde un punto de vista que quiera proyectar un mensaje, para sentirse algo incómodo.

! [English Text] As a viewer and a person who respects religions in general, I take this as a mockery, because they want to present a plot of "secrets of the church" but it makes no sense to me to show it in this way.


Of course, this is in a non-figurative sense, it is not as if there really existed evil in flesh and blood with the power to do these "miracles" and use people to spread what is denoted as the new world without suffering or repentance.


I know well that within religions there are bad people, I think the addition of quite grotesque and violent scenes, plus the fact that the image of a beast resembling a vampire with the possibility of being an angel is used, was quite disrespectful.


While with this series they wanted to somehow create controversy in religions I think they have succeeded quite well. And I'm not even talking in a general sense, it is enough for someone like me or other people with some belief to look at this series from a point of view that wants to project a message, to feel somewhat uncomfortable.

Me hubiese sentido más cómodo si se hubiese mostrado de una la perspectiva de un demonio y su manipulación con el mundo y las religiones, estaría de acuerdo con ello.

Incluso hubo un punto en que quisieron salvar la trama de la serie o más bien crear un contexto de todo lo sucedido pero se vio forzado y tosco con el simple hecho de usar el romance y negación a perder a alguien con todo lo que mostraron previamente.

Si lo miro desde un punto de vista como simple guión sin mensajes ocultos debí decir que hicieron un trabajo estupendo, los efectos, el uso de los versículos de la Biblia con la tergiversación de su real me mensaje va muy bien.

Pero a pesar de que tocaron un punto importante sobre el hecho que la biblia a sido tal vez manipulado por el hombre a su conveniencia, creo que hay otras cosas importantes que olvidaron. Pero pues es mi forma de ver las cosas.

! [English Text]I would have felt more comfortable if it had been shown from a demon's perspective and his manipulation of the world and religions, I would have agreed with that.


There was even a point where they wanted to save the plot of the series or rather create a context of everything that happened but it looked forced and clunky with just using romance and refusal to lose someone with everything they showed previously.


If I look at it from a point of view as a simple script with no hidden messages I should say they did a great job, the effects, the use of Bible verses with the misrepresentation of their real message goes very well.


But even though they touched an important point about the fact that the bible has perhaps been manipulated by man to his convenience, I think there are other important things they forgot. But that is my way of seeing things.
