Maremoto (netflix movie review)

Saludos Hivers, feliz domingo para ustedes. Ayer ha sido bastante sentido para mí, creo que las noticias llegan de una forma muy inesperadas a mi vida y en su mayoría no son muy buenas del todo. Sin embargo entre la tarde y la noche hizo algo de diferencia pero ya la luego les cuento en otra publicación más tarde.

Anoche mi pareja estaba algo molesto porque me estoy adueñando de la tv mirando mis doramas románticos, cosa que a él no le gusta mucho, entonces decidimos hacer una pausa para ver una película juntos como solemos hacer cuando estamos desocupados.

Está vez no hubo trailer de por medio para no perder el tiempo en elegir una película, vimos por allí el nombre "maremoto" y rápidamente ambos conectamos con que deberíamos verla. No sé si les ha pasado eso, que solo con un título llamativo presienten que la trama será de su gusto, bueno así nos pasó y no hubo equivocación.

Maremoto es de esas películas que te mantiene en un suspenso y zozobra en alto nivel, incluso llegué a un punto en que mis nervios se descontrolaron por un momento y tuve que respirar porque el cuerpo me temblaba. Es que particularmente las escenas se sienten muy vivas y los efectos especiales pueden llegar a ser bastantes abrumadores.

Yesterday has been quite meaningful for me, I think the news come in a very unexpected way to my life and most of them are not very good at all. However between afternoon and evening it made a bit of a difference but I'll tell you about it in another post later.


Last night my partner was a bit annoyed because I'm taking over the TV watching my romantic doramas, which he doesn't like very much, so we decided to take a break to watch a movie together as we usually do when we are not busy.


This time there was no trailer so we didn't waste time choosing a movie, we saw the name "maremoto" and we both quickly connected that we should watch it. I don't know if that has ever happened to you, that just with a catchy title you get the feeling that the plot will be to your liking, well that's how it happened to us and there was no mistake.


Maremoto is one of those movies that keeps you in suspense and anxiety at a high level, I even reached a point where my nerves got out of control for a moment and I had to breathe because my body was shaking. The scenes in particular feel very vivid and the special effects can be quite overwhelming.

Yo le tengo mucho respeto al mar, por no decir bastante temor. Pero en el sentido que no creo que algún día me aventure en un yate o crucero, mucho menos creo que elegiría una carrera donde terminaría trabajando en pozos de perforación de petrolero en alta mar, eso para mí sería terrorífico.

Una de las cosas que siempre he creído es que cuando lastimas al medio ambiente este de alguna forma va a responder, y por supuesto que es una agresión todas esas perforaciones ya que pueden conectarse con algún tipo de falla o algo parecido y hacer que se produzcan estos deslizamientos que traen muchas consecuencias incluso para la vida marina.

La trama empieza al estilo documental, algo que me hizo pensar que lo sería del todo. A mí la verdad no me gusta los documentales, me identifico más con algún libreto basado en hechos reales. Pero para mí suerte eran solo dos minutos de una introducción bastante interesante y realista, en un sentido que las personas ponen en riesgo sus vidas y la del mundo en este tipo de actividades.

Me ha despertado mucho ver un experimento con robot para adentrarse en el mar, y a su vez que este mismo sirva para algún tipo de rescate, creo que es impresionante y el hecho de que lo pusieran en práctica en un evento bastante catastrófico fue impactante.

! [English Text] I have a lot of respect for the sea, not to say a lot of fear. But in the sense that I don't think I would ever venture out on a yacht or cruise ship, much less choose a career where I would end up working on offshore oil drilling wells, that would be terrifying to me.


One of the things I have always believed is that when you hurt the environment it will respond in some way, and of course it is an aggression all that drilling because it can connect to some kind of fault line or something like that and cause these landslides that bring many consequences even for marine life.


The plot starts in a documentary style, something that made me think it would be a documentary at all. I don't really like documentaries, I identify more with a script based on real events. But luckily for me it was only two minutes of a very interesting and realistic introduction, in a sense that people put their lives and the world's lives at risk in this kind of activities.


I was very aroused to see an experiment with a robot to go into the sea, and at the same time that it serves for some kind of rescue, I think it is impressive and the fact that they put it into practice in a fairly catastrophic event was shocking.

Justo a través de este robot es que muchas cosas empiezan a encajar, cuando una grabación del mismo muestra una especie de comportamiento errático del mar, como si el subsuelo se estuviera hundiendo, algo que a los científica les preocupa, dado que la zona donde se está produciendo está llena de plataforma perforadoras que pudieran estar comprometidas.

Es bastante nefasto a su vez lo que el control político y unos cuantas cifras pueden llegar a convertirse en la razón para ignorar que el mundo es capaz de acabarse por nuestras mismas manos.

En este sentido y en relación a la trama, el hecho de que cientos de taladros puedan hundirse y a su vez dejar libre las fuentes de petróleo es una catástrofe sin precedentes.

Nos ponemos a pensar en las orillas del mar repletas de pescados y demás vida acuática muertos, las aves en su intento de pescar muriendo y por supuesto todo eso va directo a una cadena que afecta directamente la vida humana también, empezando por la salud, luego el ámbito monetario sobre todo cuando se trata de zonas con de vida turísticas, en fin, miles de efectos negativos que conllevan un derrame de petróleo a grande escala.

[English Text] It is precisely through this robot that many things start to come together, when a recording of it shows a kind of erratic behavior of the sea, as if the subsoil is sinking, something that scientists are concerned about, given that the area where it is occurring is full of drilling rigs that could be compromised.


It is quite ominous in turn what political control and a few figures can become the reason for ignoring that the world is capable of ending by our own hands.


In this sense and in relation to the plot, the fact that hundreds of drills can sink and in turn free the oil sources is an unprecedented catastrophe.


We think of the seashores full of dead fish and other aquatic life, the birds dying in their attempt to fish and of course all this goes directly to a chain that directly affects human life as well, starting with health, then the monetary sphere, especially when it comes to tourist areas, in short, thousands of negative effects of a large-scale oil spill.

Desde el punto de vista de los personajes, pues hay algunos que dejan mucho que desear y son quienes menos le interesan los efectos colaterales hacia la naturaleza, pues son los líderes y encargados de aumentar esas cifras en cheques con la cantidad de petróleo que sacan del mar a grandes riesgos, no solo para con el ecosistema, también usando a veces a personas inexpertas para llevar a cabo labores de mucho cuidado.

Cuando la situación se complica son estas mismas personas quienes se lavan las manos y deja todo para lo que ahora sí es correcto o el deber ser, que en esta trama pues es bastante lamentable pues la vida de un hombre está en peligro al quedarse en una zona sumergida de una plataforma petrolera que destruyó un maremoto.

Sin embargo, el amor y el hecho de no perder las esperanzas, hacen que una mujer junto a su amigo, vayan en contra de las decisiones de estos líderes. Ideando una forma muy arriesgada de salvar a este hombre aún con todas las trabas que se les presentan en el camino.

El final a pesar de que debería ser feliz porque de cierto modo se logra el cometido, pues para mí fue devastador, el hecho de que el mar se esté quemando, o más bien el petróleo derramado produce en sí un impacto en el ambiente descomunal, y pensar que se menciona que pasó un año para que el humo se disipará, increíble.

However, love and the fact of not losing hope, make a woman and her friend go against the decisions of these leaders. Devising a very risky way to save this man even with all the obstacles that are presented to them on the way.


The ending, even though it should be happy because in a way it achieves its goal, for me it was devastating, the fact that the sea is burning, or rather the spilled oil itself produces a huge impact on the environment, and to think that it is mentioned that it took a year for the smoke to dissipate, unbelievable.
