On the line (netflix movie review)

Saludos Hivers, espero hayan pasado un estupendo domingo. Nosotros nos la hemos pasado muy bien y hablo en plural porque fuimos a casa de mis padres a pasar un día diferente, para compartir en familia y tener un rato ameno alejado de los problemas de la vida. La verdad que lo hemos disfrutado al máximo tanto que seguramente lo vamos a repetir.

Hace un par de noches en casa de mis padres, ellos nos comentaron sobre una película que nos iba a gustar mucho. Por supuesto no nos contaron nada, solo nos dijeron que era imperativo verlo.

Así que acabando de terminar de verla, tengo ya mis impresiones sobre el mismo, pero voy a adelantar que es muy buena ya que supo engañarme de la peor manera, es decir, me sentí burlado enteramente porque absolutamente nada era lo que yo pensaba.

Está película lleva por nombre "on the line" aunque en Netflix se consigue también bajo el título en español "secuestro en directo" y pues literalmente es eso, un atentado que ocurre dentro de una estación de radio.

We had a great time and I speak in plural because we went to my parents' house to spend a different day, to share with the family and have a nice time away from the problems of life. The truth is that we enjoyed it so much that we will surely repeat it.


A couple of nights ago at my parents' house, they told us about a movie that we were going to like a lot. Of course they didn't tell us anything, they just told us that it was imperative to see it.


So, having just finished watching it, I already have my impressions about it, but I will say that it is very good because it fooled me in the worst way, that is to say, I felt entirely mocked because absolutely nothing was what I thought it was.


This movie is called "on the line" although in Netflix it is also available under the Spanish title "secuestro en directo" and it is literally that, an attack that happens inside a radio station.

Las primeras impresiones sobre el protagonista son bastantes objetivas porque se muestra como una persona muy egocéntrica, que si bien tiene un gran reconocimiento como locutor, su humildad a quedado en la historia también, pues es bastante pesado y muy difícil de digerir. Son de esos jefes compañeros que jamás quieres tener cerca.

Este hombre parece tener una de los espacios radiales más exitosos, pero que ha estado yéndose en declive, tal vez por lo monótono que se ha vuelto su repertorio, las personas ya no se identifican con lo que hace, o pues, todo forma parte de un libreto.

En su espacio, no solo habla cosas personales de su equipo de trabajo y las locuras que pueden darse mientras están en vivo, también se reciben llamadas sobre los problemas que tienen su público.

Desde problema matrimoniales hasta otros temas personales de la vida cotidiana. Todo por supuesto con la idea de tener una respuesta concisa y que ayude a estas personas a través de este elocuente locutor.

Sin embargo, las cosas están por caldearse un poco, no solamente por la broma bizarra que le hacen al novato de cabina técnica, también por una presunta llamada que despierta ese suspenso alborotador.

[English Text]The first impressions about the protagonist are quite objective because he is shown as a very egocentric person, who although he has a great recognition as a broadcaster, his humility has been in history as well, because he is quite heavy and very difficult to digest. He is one of those fellow bosses that you never want to have around.


This man seems to have one of the most successful radio slots, but he has been going downhill, maybe because of how monotonous his repertoire has become, people no longer identify with what he does, or, well, it's all part of a script.


In his space, he not only talks about personal things about his work team and the crazy things that can happen while they are live, but he also receives calls about the problems that his audience has.


From marital problems to other personal issues of everyday life. All of course with the idea of having a concise and helpful answer to these people through this eloquent announcer.


However, things are about to get a little heated, not only because of the bizarre joke they make to the rookie in the technical booth, but also because of an alleged call that awakens the suspense.

Alguien está a punto de cometer un delito, desde secuestro hasta posibles asesinatos. La cuestión es que busca venganza sobre el locutor de la radio quien se pone no solo tenso, también lo suficientemente despavorido para notarse en su cara al momento de que su familia se ve involucrada en toda esta locura.

Toda esta tensión se vuelve prácticamente en un juego sucio, dónde alguien tiene que pagar, pues bajo el lema de "ojo por ojo y diente por diente" está persona quiere que el locutor de haga responsable sobre el presunto suicidio de una mujer que formaba parte de su equipo de trabajo.

La cuestión es que en definitiva este locutor no solo tiene un temperamento desagradable, también su forma de tratar a las personas lo es. Por lo que ha llevado que muchos se vayan y renuncien.

Siempre he pensado que las bromas tienen un límite pues es un momento de risas para algunos, pero hay una víctima siempre de por medio en el acto bromista, siendo la peor parte de esta situación.

! [English Text]Someone is about to commit a crime, from kidnapping to possible murder. The point is that he seeks revenge on the radio announcer who becomes not only tense, but also terrified enough to show on his face when his family is involved in all this madness.


All this tension becomes practically a dirty game, where someone has to pay, because under the motto of "an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth" this person wants the announcer to take responsibility for the alleged suicide of a woman who was part of his work team.


The issue is that this announcer not only has an unpleasant temperament, but also his way of treating people is unpleasant. So it has led many to leave and quit.


I have always thought that jokes have a limit because it is a moment of laughter for some, but there is always a victim involved in the joking act, being the worst part of this situation.

Pues para este asesino es imperativo que todas las personas sepan quién realmente es este locutor, pero también ir escudriñando algunos secretos dentro de la radio.

Es normal pensar en algunos presuntos culpables sobre lo que está sucediendo, yo personalmente me llene de miles de hipótesis, pero la cuestión es que nadie va a ser capaz de dar con la verdad, solo al momento de llegar al final de esta trama.

Llena de suspenso, me ha dejado básicamente sin palabra alguna, pues la verdad siempre estuvo allí desde el inicio prácticamente, el culpable no es más que la verdad.

It is normal to think of some alleged culprits about what is happening, I personally am filled with thousands of hypotheses, but the point is that no one will be able to find the truth, only at the time of reaching the end of this plot.


Full of suspense, it has left me basically speechless, because the truth was always there from the beginning practically, the culprit is nothing more than the truth.
