The Movie that Touched My Soul: A Journey into Deep Emotions
I really like watching movies although we were not allowed to watch movies in my childhood. My Mother was very strict in this thing but once we get into it, then there was no one to stop us from watching movies. Good thing was that I use to watch movies with my brothers, one of my elder bro was the king of remote. He was the one who choose and select movie which we have to watch without any argument and we use to discuss on it while watching movie. We cannot just sit quiet and watch, discussion is mandatory and predicting whats going to happen next. Its funny but that’s the way we use to watch movies. Together we watched a lot of movies of almost every genre but then there was a movie which affected me a lot.
Baghban, an Indian movie of a superstar actor Amitabh Bachchan and famous actress Hema malini. it was hit because of their acting but most importantly, its famous because of its story which is very much true in modern world. This movie shows us how new generation is reacting and forgetting the traditions and cultures, our values and respect for elders. Let me make it clear here, I am only talking about the culture of sub-continent. We are now adopting the western culture but we are totally different people. This movies shows the truth which is happening in every other family. Parents who worked hard and spent everything to fulfill the wishes and dreams of their kids, were left alone after their retirement. The time when they needed their kids and grandchildren to be around, they were ignored and no one is willing to take their responsibility. This movie is full of emotions and sentiments.
I was like 15-16 years of age when I watched it for the first time and it was with my brothers. As I said, we do a lot of discussion while watching movies. We did the same and we were shocked how kids can do such thing with their parents. Maybe it is after marriage which changes the mind of kids and they think of their parents as burden and focus on their own family. I think it is not that hard, every person has its own value and space. No one can take the place of Father and Mother and neither the place of your own kids and wife. Well, I was too young when I saw it and I think that was the right time because it shows the real picture of married life and what can happen and how can it be handled properly. It is the fact that some scenes get stuck in your mind and you get ready for it in your future life, if such thing happen with me, what would I do and you get more options to pick. This movie worked well for me.
I have seen it several times and whenever I watch it, I got senti and tears automatically comes out of my eyes. We cannot deny the fact that it really happens with many of the families but I am lucky that I am still in a joint family living with my parents. I try my best to do nothing like what kids did in that movie. These dialogue are worth watching: If a father can help a son to take his first step in life ... then why can't the same son support his father to take his last step in life?
