The Wall o sobre cómo romper barreras para crear nuevas ediciones en nuestra vida // Films que inspiran 2da edición (Esp-Eng)

Hoy, invitado por @maiasun84, me decido a participar con sumo placer en la dinámica ...

Les confieso he demorado varios días en decidir sobre cuál película referirme porque son varias las que considero como favoritas e imprescindibles para ver, bien sea como entretenimiento, relajación, análisis o sencillamente aquellas que uno repetiría una y mil veces por la posibilidad que brinda al descubrir en ella nuevas visiones e interpretaciones.

Hablando sobre el tema con @restaurador, me propuso hablase sobre Tango Feroz, película biográfica argentina dirigida por Marcelo Piñeyro. Él sabe que es uno de los filmes de referencia que contemplo cuando hablo de cine de calidad; de hecho, mientras escribo estas letras, estoy escuchando su banda sonora. Pero sucede que me siguen rondando muchas opciones: La noche de los lápices, El lado oscuro del corazón, Tesis, Los otros, El Laberinto del Fauno, cualquiera de Almodóvar, de Tarantino, de Steven Spielberg, Chaplin... En fin, que me resulta difícil decidir.

Pero como @maiasun84 me invitó, no puedo quedar mal. Así que haré #café y les comentaré sobre una película muy significativa para mí.

Como profesor, en varias ocasiones empleé disímiles turnos de clases solamente para mostrársela a los alumnos y luego analizarla, considerando que a veces es mucho más útil hacerlo que impartirles algún contenido académico preestablecido por todo el arsenal de temas que puede brindar.

Me refiero a The Wall, película dirigida por Alan Parker, quien compartió el guión con Roger Waters.
Estrenada en 1982, cuando yo apenas tenía 3 años de edad, es una película que considero universal en el tiempo por los temas que aborda, el modo de hacerlo a través de códigos que mantienen una actualidad latente y palpable a través de un magistral manejo de la fotografía, el sonido e imágenes conjugadas con dibujos animados surrealistas, cuya profundidad conceptual no pasan desapercibidos para nadie.

No daré muchos detalles de la película en sí porque quisiera que, en caso de que aún no la hayan visto, la busquen y contemplen con toda la calma y seriedad a la que ella, por sí sola, invita.

Todo ser humano transita por dilemas morales en su vida. Bien sea moldeado por el entorno familiar, social o sus propias concepciones que va construyendo a lo largo de su formación personal como individuo.

The Wall, si bien presenta una lectura tan simple como diversa, nos muestra excelentemente algunos de estos dilemas morales a los que nos enfrentamos como seres vivos en sociedad.

Por muchos es sabido que trae implícito un caracter biográfico si se quiere. Pero la película va más allá de ello, más allá del período histórico que describe y que lamentablemente se mantiene vigente.

El enfrentamiento a la soledad, aún estando rodeado de personas; el enfrentamiento a la doble moral de la familia, la sociedad; el enfrentamiento a las normas sociales bajo discursos de opresión o de establecimientos de límites simbólicos u objetivos, el cómo a muchos la sociedad moldea para convertirlos en sujetos reproductores de las mismas conductas rechazadas, el suicidio como vía de escape ante la carencia de redes de apoyo adecuadas y finalmente, la necesidad y valentía para romper esas barreras, son en definitiva parte de las enseñanzas que nos regala de forma escalonada esta película.

The Wall no es una obra para apreciar ligeramente ni superficialmente porque no es una obra para entretener. Es una obra maestra que nos obliga a reconocer quiénes somos y qué queremos.

I confess that it has taken me several days to decide which film to refer to because there are several that I consider favorites and essential to see, whether for entertainment, relaxation, analysis or simply those that one would repeat a thousand times due to the possibility it offers by discovering new visions and interpretations in it.

Talking about the subject with @restaurador, he suggested that we talk about Tango Feroz, an Argentine biographical film directed by Marcelo Piñeyro. He knows that it is one of the reference films that I consider when I talk about quality cinema; in fact, as I write these lyrics, I'm listening to its soundtrack. But it happens that many options continue to haunt me: The Night of the Pencils, The Dark Side of the Heart, Thesis, The Others, Pan's Labyrinth, any of Almodóvar, Tarantino, Steven Spielberg, Chaplin... Anyway, it's difficult for me to decide.

But since @maiasun84 invited me, I can't look bad. So I'll make #coffee and tell you about a very meaningful film for me.

As a teacher, on several occasions I used different class shifts just to show it to the students and then analyze it, considering that sometimes it is much more useful to do so than to teach them some pre-established academic content due to the entire arsenal of topics it can provide.

I am referring to The Wall, a film directed by Alan Parker, who shared the script with Roger Waters.
Released in 1982, when I was barely 3 years old, it is a film that I consider universal in time due to the themes it addresses, the way of doing so through codes that maintain a latent and palpable relevance through a masterful management of photography, sound and images combined with surreal cartoons, whose conceptual depth does not go unnoticed by anyone.

I will not give many details about the film itself because I would like you, in case you have not seen it yet, to look for it and contemplate it with all the calm and seriousness that it, by itself, invites.

Every human being goes through moral dilemmas in their lives. Whether shaped by the family or social environment or their own conceptions that they build throughout their personal formation as an individual.

The Wall, although it presents a reading that is as simple as it is diverse, excellently shows us some of these moral dilemmas that we face as living beings in society.

It is known by many that it has an implicit biographical character, if you will. But the film goes beyond that, beyond the historical period it describes and which unfortunately remains current.

Confronting loneliness, even when surrounded by people; confronting the double standards of the family and society; the confrontation with social norms under discourses of oppression or the establishment of symbolic or objective limits, how society shapes many to become reproducing subjects of the same rejected behaviors, suicide as a means of escape from the lack of adequate support networks and finally, the need and courage to break those barriers, are ultimately part of the teachings that this film gives us in a phased manner.

The Wall is not a work to be appreciated lightly or superficially because it is not a work to entertain. It is a masterpiece that forces us to recognize who we are and what we want.
