The beginning of my tour of Verona

Hello everyone!

Verona is another city that I had the opportunity to visit during a trip to Italy with friends. We spent one whole day walking around the city, so we couldn't see everything. Apart from the limited time, not everything was open and available to the public that day. Additionally, the weather was not favorable either, we had to stop walking several times to hide from the rain. Despite these small inconveniences, it was worth visiting this beautiful city.
Please see the first post from my visit to Verona.

Witam wszystkich!

Werona to kolejne miasto jakie miałem okazję zwiedzić podczas wycieczki z przyjaciółmi do Włoch.
Zapraszam do pierwszego postu z mojego zwiedzania Werony.

We arrived in Verona by train and after walking a few hundred meters we reached the former city gate - Porta Nuova. The gate was built in 1532–1540 and was the main entrance to the city from the south. I took the photo from Corso Porta Nuova street, i.e. from the north.

Then we went north along Corso Porta Nuova, along which we can admire the old architecture. Unfortunately for me, shots of the buildings themselves were often hampered by trees that obscured them.

Dalej poszliśmy w kierunku północnym ulicą Corso Porta Nuova, zwdłuż której można podziwiać starą architekturą. Niestety dla mnie do zrobienia ujęć samych budynków często przeszkadzały drzewa, które je zasłaniały.

Portoni della Bra - another gate in Verona connecting Corso Porta Nuova with Piazza Brà. The first gate was built here in the mid-13th century, probably present at the beginning of the 16th century.

Portoni della Bra - kolejna brama w Weronie łącząca ulicę Corso Porta Nuova z placem Piazza Brà. Pierwsza brama powstała tutaj w połowie XIII wieku, obecna prawdopodobnie na początku w XVI wieku.

After several previous unsuccessful attempts, the clock was placed on the gate in 1871.

Zegar po kilku wcześniejszych nieudanych próbach, został umieszczony na bramie w 1871 roku.

I took the above photo and the others below in the southern part of Piazza Brà, protecting myself from the rain.

Powyższe zdjęcie oraz pozostałe poniżej wykonałem w południowej części placu Piazza Brà chroniąc się przed deszczem.

Around the square you can admire old colorful buildings and palaces.

Dookoła placu można podziwiać stare kolorowe budynki oraz pałace.

Palazzo della Gran Guardia - another palace on the square, construction of which began in 1609 and was completed only in 1853. This long period was due to a break in construction for about 200 years due to lack of money.

Palazzo della Gran Guardia - kolejny pałac przy placu, którego budowę rozpoczęto w 1609 roku i ukończono dopiero w 1853 roku. Tak długi okres wynikał z około 200 lat przerwy w budowie spowodowanej brakiem pieniędzy.
