Carry On - An American Thriller

Another movie recommendation from TikTok. If you have been following my movie reviews this past weeks you’ll realise that 100% of the movies that I’ve written about have been from TikTok recommendations.

I recently stumbled upon this reviewer who does a good job at giving you a nice tease to a movie. She doesn’t give a full review of the movie so I at least had a good feeling about watching this movie. Let’s get into it.

The movie I’ll be talking about is title carry on. Carry on is an American thriller movie which was released this year(2024) on the 13th of December. It’s a recent movie which was written by T.J Fixman and directed by Jaume Collet -Serra.

Carry on is a movie about a young TSA agent also know as aviation security agents at the airport who gets entangled with a terrorist whilst on duty. Coincidentally it happens on a day this man walks up to his boss and asks to be promoted as he has been on the lower ranks for years.

This happens hours after his girlfriend tells him she’s expecting a baby and as a new or expectant dad he does what most dads will do to raise more money. Carry on as the name implies features an American terrorist who tries to coerce this TSA agent into allowing a package on a flight. Generally these packages are not allowed on airplanes as they are considered dangerous.

Carry on features popular faces like Taron Egerton and Sofia Carson who are boyfriend and girlfriend in this movie.

Now with this movie you shouldn’t expect anything away from the regular thriller scenes. A few people who are rather irrelevant to the movie die all though the movie makes them seem important. The overly important people do not die as well.

Generally I like the scenes in the movie. It doesn’t involve a whole lot of fights or gun fights which are generally not my thing. Not to say that I don’t like gun fights but I generally like when they try to make them look or feel real. For me, I don’t think I’ve watched a similar movie to carry all though I am sure there are movies similar to this one out there.

Generally I liked it. It at least got me smiling at end as I wouldn’t have had it the other way round.

I like the way the lead role took this personal. I wouldn’t expect anything different from him as he’s a professional and has been in the game for a long time.

If you’ve read my review you’d probably know that I usually don’t like bed room scenes so trust me when I say there are 0 bed room scenes in this one. In some other movies they would have shown how the lady got pregnant but this movie just starts with the lady already announcing to her boyfriend that she’s pregnant. The bedroom scene would have been a whole deviation in this movie as it wouldn’t have had a place in a movie like this.

All in all I can say that I enjoyed the movie. No shady stuff and unnecessary scenes. I’ll rate this a 7.4 over 10. It was a good movie but not a lot of twists or turns which will make you get too excited.
