CINE TV CONTEST: RED ONE 🎅
JOIN CINE TV CONTEST #124
Compliments of the season to every Hiveian. It has been a very interesting and busy one for me and that is why I have been away for a while. However, I am glad I found time to see RED ONE.
The movie was worth it! It is the ideal movie to see on Christmas day! My favorite holiday movie!
The movie is a masterpiece, kudos to all responsible for the success, the director, Jake Kasdan, writer, Chris Morgan, and especially the actors. The moment I saw Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer as one of the production companies I knew I was in for a treat.
The whole movie has a scene or more for everyone. Scenes that resonate with kids, adults, the morally upright, despicable etc. Lots of comic and sarcastic remarks with all characters killing their roles.
There was a part Dwayne Johnson (Callum Drift), Santa’s bodyguard and head of security was referred to as ELF, an acronym for Enforcement Logistics and Fortification, Santa’s security team.
The sarcasm here is how someone that huge and with such a title was referred to as head of Elfs. Elfs are small creatures!
I have been fortunate to watch interesting movies lately. RED ONE is a Christmas movie that talks about the Santa, his gifts and powers and the forces militating against his number one task of sharing gifts on Christmas day.
The movie is a clear struggle between good and evil but the former prevailed in the end.
Another theme displayed in the movie is the manifestation of good in evil. Sometimes, good and evil may have to co-exist to achieve a common purpose.
When Nick, who is also known as the Santa Claus, was kidnapped, Krampus (Nick’s brother) and Callum Drift (Nick’s Chief security) had to work together to defeat the notorious witch, Gryla, who kidnapped Santa and planned changing the Christmas narrative from being something pleasant to something dreadful.
Gryla’s plan was to kidnap Santa Claus, harness his power and utilize Santa’s toy duplicating machine to trap people on a Naughty List initially created by Krampus. Her plan seemed to worked after test running a few times but everything later failed as she was trapped by her own plans!
The main reason why the Naughty List was created by Krampus was to deal with naughty children but it’s surprising how Krampus had to step in to stop what he created.
To add some spice, Gryla was her ex and she had to stop what he created and someone he had once dated!
Jack O’Malley was the root cause of the whole problem as he worked indirectly with the witch in tracking Santa. Although he never knew he was working with the witch until Santa had been kidnapped, he had to correct his wrongdoing by later working with Callum in order to defeat the witch.
Aside from the interesting animations in the movie, the sarcasm and lovely actors, one more thing I like about the movie is how it perfectly fits Christmas, one can watch with the family and everyone will identify with their characters, both young and old.
As for dislikes, I’ll probably say that the movie length be reduced as some messages could be conveyed with shorter scenes. For example, where Santa was kidnapped could have communicated with fewer scenes.
One Hilarious scene I will never forget was where Callum discovered that the way to destroy the ice monsters was to remove their ‘carrot nose’. One would have thought those guys would require tougher measures to be defeated!
I’ll rate the movie a 9.5 out of 10. I said I was going to see it and I am glad I did.
