The night agent by Shawn Ryan is one of the season and seasoned movie I have watched recently, it's a political thriller and an American action movie that depicts the rotten political system of the states. It talks about how the system is being run by a set of betrayals who are are bent on destroying the political space of the state. This act of betrayal as portrayed by the movie is what is happening everywhere and it shows that no one is to be trusted. All this happenings in the night agent were well performed by the various characters among whom are the main characters: peter Sutherland, Rose larkins,Diane farrow among others. All these characters play well their roles.

The movie started on the train with Peter Sutherland also on the train. On the train, there was a suicide bomber that was planning to bomb the train, but due to the time intervention of Peter, the disaster was averted and he was able to safe lives and national mourning, after the blast, where he was, he noticed the guy that tried to bomb the train and charged towards him, but he ran away with him being hit by a rushing car.

After the scene, there's another scene that has a couple having a discussion and one of their relatives coming in to help them with their baggages and when it's night, a criminal scene was presented as both couples were being killed for what's know to be an assassination which was used to stopped them from leaking out a secret of evidence on the investigation they were carrying out. But before their gruesome murder, both couples have asked their niece to use the exit door and move to a nearby apartment which is not far from theirs. Though she was not willing to leave, but compelled by the couples. The lady Rose larkins was give the night agent.number to call. Rose larkins called the number and it's peter Sutherland on the other end of the call and she was rescue from the assailant that was after her. The verdict of the first scene of the movie was a chaotic and tensed things with watchers being put on suspense as to what's actually going to happen next.

In the morning, after Rose larkins has been rescued, Peter Sutherland met with her in the company of the chief of staff and she was promised she would be protected and that a thorough investigation would be carried out and from then on, the investigation started and series of secrets and evidences were discovered along the line of the investigation. But with all these evidences being discovered and recovered, those people behind the killing of the couple were not relenting as they were held bent on destroying the evidences and killing the witness Rose larkins. This can be seen in the hotel where Rose larkins was lodged after the whole incidence, at the hotel, there were security details attached to her to provide her with adequate security, but at the most critical time, the security details were detached and if not for the time intervention of the night agent peter Sutherland, the lady would have been killed and everything buried. Verdict ; This is an act of betrayal to the state by those who have pledged their allegiance to it.

Another take home from the movie was the role being place by the criminal couple whom are the one that killed Rose aunt and uncle. These couple were being used by the mole in the White House, these characters really played their roles very well, as the night agents were doing there own investigations, so also these two criminal characters, they were always on the move and they carried out their dastardly act without leaving any trail behind. Seriously, they were good at what they were assigned to do. Though, they killed an old woman out of their pretence of being the former occupant of the apartment and also kidnapped a baby, all these they do act according to their given role and script, they wanted to settle down and have their own life, but it was not possible, as the husband was killed later on.

What of the deputy director of the FBI, Jamie Hawkins who was working directly with peter Sutherland and was like the prime suspect in the whole investigation, he was thought to have ordered the withdrawal of the security details attached to Rose larkins at the hotel, but at the end, he was found dead, may be murdered or committed suicide that's what's not clear, but, his death was used to cover up for something. Verdict ; conspiracy everywhere.

What of where the drive that contains the evidences was kept, it was kept in the place called the wood, the wood was a remote area to the city and that's where the couple use to go and even keep those things that are of great importance or that has to do with evidence. The wood was the place the flash was found, and even at the wood, the criminal couple still traced Peter and Rose and they wanted to kill both if not for their smartness. Thanks to Rose for remembering the wood in the course of the investigation as the flash found there helped then in the course of the investigation. Verdict; power of the mind.

What of those giving information to the criminal couples, those people are the mole in the White House and they were hell bent on covering up themselves, they are the hierarchy in the White House, they were there to protect the state, but they were acting otherwise and were bent on frustrating the investigation. Verdict : they were the cabals in the White House.
Also, the discovery and recovery of the drive, led to more troubles for Peter and Rose and both were not safe at all. Even Rose at some points stopped to have faith in the chief of staff to the president Diane Farr, Diane Farr was the president chief of staff and she's believed to be a trust worthy woman, but that was not true as she was one of those conniving together to frustrate and stop the investigation as being done by Peter. Betrayal everywhere.

What of the lie being peddled against Peter when the daughter of the vice president was kidnapped. The daughter of the vice president was kidnapped and the vice president was told to be strong by the cabal so as to cover up for the many sins and atrocities, but the man could not bear it as he vowed to grant a news conference, but he was persuaded not to do so, but later, they came up with a lie and asked him to grant the news conference just to lie against Peter and stopped him from his assignment. That they did and were successful in lying against him. Same thing they did to Peters father in the past. Verdict ; lying everywhere.

In the view of this incident, Peter was relieved of the investigation and appointment and was to be arrested, it was at this point that he ran away from the white out basement and escaped, he met with Rose and they both escaped to the boat, where they kept their heads and were still working on the investigation and how the president daughter would be rescued. All these happened because both Peter and Rose has got to know the truth about Diane farr and her cohort in the the White House, with a Russian mole in there. Verdict : Peter Sutherland was such a loyal agent.

After his escape, Peter was declared wanted and was being searched for, by Erik Monk and chelsea Arrington and after the much searching, they were found and were to be arrested, but when both Erik and chelsea heard from them, they all at the end worked together in the rescue of the vice president daughter and the vice president daughter was rescued and delivered to the father, but this would not be without the sacrifice of the veteran security man who was known for his bravery Erik, who lost his own life in a gun duel between the kidnapper and the agents. The kidnapped of the vice president daughter was to bargain with the vice president.

Also, after the release of the vice president, the daughter maddie was taking to the vice president with Chelsea staying with her. Though they have insisted on Chelsea not staying with her until she narrated everything that happened. So, at the vice residence, was a meeting of all, at the meeting of the cabals, they had their differences and sorted it out and even left the chief of staff behind in their conversations. There at the meeting, they planned to kill the president who was innocent and didn't even know what was going on under her belt, so, while having their conversation, the vice president got to know about their sinister plans and she communicated to the Chelsea and the rest agents, who helped to avert the horror being put in place at a venue being designated to welcome the arrival of a visiting president.

At the end, Peter Sutherland was the hero of all that happened in the movie and Chelsea was promoted to be one of the president guard.

Verdicts : the movie " the night agent" is a movie that shows the rottenness in government, it's all about betraying ones trust as can be seen throughout the movie where the major one was Diane Farr betraying Peter's trust and lying also occupies the center page of the movie, killing and kidnapping are other things to behold in the movie, as we can see in the suicide attempt on the train right from the first scene of the movie. The movie is also full of evil conspiracy against the innocent ones

Though, with all these, there are other positive take home from the movie which ranges from loyalty, trust and resilience without compromise. All as can be seen in peter Sutherland.

The movie is a very good one with clear pictures and sound. Looking forward to the season two.
