MY CLEANING ACTIVITY POST FOR 02/12024
The rise of AI and robotics could indeed shift the job landscape significantly, leading to a reduction in demand for human labor in various industries. The concern over job losses is valid, especially for those without technical skills, as robots may take over roles in areas like cleaning, organizing, and packaging. This transformation may lead to social unrest, with people potentially protesting against the growing reliance on robots, as we've seen depicted in films.
The use of robots in personal caregiving, especially for newborns, is especially troubling, as it could disrupt the essential parent-child bond, which is crucial in a child’s early development. Relying on robots for such tasks could lead to emotional detachment and a skewed sense of attachment toward machines rather than human caregivers.
There are indeed many valuable uses for robots, particularly in risky professions where lives are at stake. Innovations in areas like disaster response, emergency medical assistance, and transportation safety could significantly improve lives without undermining human employment. The focus should ideally be on deploying robots to support humanity where the risks are high, not where human connection and employment are essential.
