Halloween es una película de terror estadounidense estrenada en 1978. Dirigida, co-escrita y musicalizada por John Carpenter, con un reparto liderado por Jamie Lee Curtis y Donald Pleasence, la historia comienza a raíz del asesinato de una joven a manos de su hermano, Michael Myers, de apenas seis años, por lo cual es internado en un psiquiátrico. Quince años después, Micheal escapa de su encierro y regresa a su pueblo natal, donde comienza a acechar a la joven Laurie Strode, en busca de una nueva víctima.

En el aspecto sonoro también resulta ser bastante propositiva, no sólo por su composición musical minimalista ya icónica, sino también por su equilibrio entre los efectos, ambientes y música para enriquecer su atmósfera.
