Expendables 4 after a nice lunch
The classic old school style prevails with poor plot
The Expendables 4 came almost a decade after the last one (Expendables 3 released last in 2014) and we had very high expectations from it, but after seeing it last week, we felt it did not meet our expectation, especially the story / plot felt like quite old school, along with poor visuals. Before the movie released, Lionsgate had listed all the previous editions, may be for promotions and attract viewers by setting the plot. I am a big fan of Sylvester Stallone and Jason Statham, and was expecting to see some niche action from the duo, but then Stallone's screen time was very limited and the action was kind of very old school. Overall, did not feel like it was worth to watch the movie at Cinepolis.
As I wrote in my last post, this time we were only two - the father son duo, as my daughter was preparing for exam. We have a hotel near to our home, preparing some nice mutton. So far we never tried eating there, but this time we decided to eat in that dhaba alike road side hotel.
This is the key to his success - cooking in firewood, bringing that authentic flavor and taste. That held us for more time enjoying the food, and eventually the movie had started by the time we reached.
The rice is a special brown rice, and was very tasty. And we realized the benefit of eating over there - you get that extra mutton curry juice along with other items in a very negligible price. He charges 180/- for half plate mutton, but then this unlimited meal costs only 220/-. So the rice, those extra items at only a negligible 40/- and you can eat as much rice you want, they will put the mutton juice with a potato every time. You won't believe, people come in high end cars like Mercedes and Audi and eat here sitting on plastic chairs. There is a saying - people will go after good food, wherever it could be. Once the words spread out, crowd will come, if the quality is maintained consistently. The hotel is just 100 meters away from my home, and the road gets jammed, because there is not enough space to park cars. When it started initially, we thought, how a hotel in such a place would run, but here he is after just one year.
Baripada is a famous place in my state for mutton, and he has tried to recreate it in the Capital with that same authentic taste and items.
After getting out of the hall, we enjoyed our favorite ice cream from Baskin robbins - they almost know our taste and ask us to taste new flavors, that they think we would like 😀 Later the boy spent some time at Timezone, last time they both spent most from the card and he decided to zero it out. A separate post on that.

Food in small dhaba alike palce is not less tasty than a costly restaurent. The duo is looking cool! I have never seen a movie with my father.😭😔

Well we also have a dhaba here which is kind of unique and offers tasty mutton .I agree with you that quality of the food is what matters.
And that meal cost is pretty affordable - eat as much as you want in just 220/ with quality mutton.

I'm sorry the movie wasn't what you were hoping for. That's crazy to think it has been a decade since the last one came out. Scary actually. I'm getting old way too fast! That's pretty cool that you have such a well regarded place right next to your house. That could be dangerous!
Indeed, it tempts us to eat red meat every week :) which is not good. Going by the road , we can smell the flavor.

I only seem one of the expendable films. Forgotten which one it was. This one not as enjoyable. Its like the rambo film, the last one was not as good as the earlier one's. First blood was a classic, at least the food looks so tasty !
I have not watched any episodes of the Expendables movie series so far, but I read that this episode failed greatly. Maybe because of the high expectations of the audience, maybe not. Maybe one day I will watch this movie series.
Older ones are available in Lionsgate, We purchases the subscription sometimes back for John Wick.
I rather prefer Bittorrent to download movies and TV series. Nowadays mostly The Pirate Bay and the BTDigg.
Sometimes we expect the story will meet our expectation but it doesn't meet.

Ya, seems his business model is to take less profit but sell more. It's difficult to get a seat between 12.30 - 3 pm - such is the rush.
The truth is that I'm not a big fan of cinema but seeing old school actors is great. And if we add the wood-fired food to complete the day, the day with your child is incredibly wonderful.

Although the movie didn't met your expectations but you became happy by those nice rice which pleased your stomach. 220 is quite reasonable amount. There are always so many dhaba where elite class even come to sit there. I also know such place here in my village where everyone loves to go and eat.
