📓 February 2025 Recap & Hive Blog Progress!

Hive Blog February Growth
February was the 2nd month were I'm keeping this blog and it continues to be a lot of fun. By making a review of each movie or series I watch I tend to choose more carefully, watch them with more attention and go a bit deeper into them so the overall experience really is enhanced. I also get a lot out of checking other movie-related posts which tend to either give me some inspiration discovering new things making my watchlist ever longer, or bring back some nice memories of movies I watched or games that I played in the past.
I continue to use all the HBD that I earn and convert it to Hive to get a extra HP lease on Hive-Engine so my vote becomes worth something. This with the idea that it hopefully keeps growing month after month to eventually build enough Hive Power from my own.

2nd Month Hive Progress
End January 2025 | End February 2025 |

I did manage to grow from 9 Followers to 15 which is a stready but slow increase as the reality shows that Hive mainly has content creators and not all that much content consumers.
Month | HP | +Leased | Follows | Posts | Comments |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
January 2025 | 117HP | 2921HP | 9 | 11 | 100 |
February 2025 | 207 HP | 3916 HP | 15 | 10 | 89 |
I made 10 Posts last month and continue to make regular comments on posts that I read and curate. My main way of going about things is to have some movie related bloggers on my https://hive.vote/ auto-upvote list which currently include @drax | @cinetv | @steemychicken1 | @andreseloy581 | @kenechukwu97 | @moviesonhive | @netflixr | @takeru255
I will likely add others or remove some based on variable factors as content and the Hive KE Ratio. I tend to go through new content from the ones I follow and the communities in the morning. Generally I always look at how much HP users have based on the time they have been on the platform and I only try to manuallu upvote those who actually are good for the platform and not the value extractors.
I also aim to keep my own KE Ration at a favorable score along the way (https://beebalanced.streamlit.app/)
So far the way of going about things has worked quite well as my account did get picked up by some auto-votes that really help a lot so thanks to @emrebeyler / @deathwing / @incublus / @someguy123 / @hykss.leo / @mrtats / @bemier / @sudefteri for the support! I do prefer smaller reliable upvotes compared to having to hope for a bigger one from one of the 'manual' curation programs which hasn't happened yet but that's fine. In the end, I'm having fun making this blog and interacting with the community and everything else is a nice extra.
February 2025 Movies Recap
So I watched 9 Movies in February including 4 in the Cinema with 3 of those at the Oostende Film Festival. These are the ones that most stood out...
Movie That Gave The Most Fun Time: This for sure was Companion which I went in completely blind which is the way to watch this one. As I mainly give ratings on my Enjoyment it got a solid 7.8/10
Movie That Gave The Best Vibe: This was Winter In Sockcho which I saw at the Oostende Film Festival. I generally like Korean Movies and really enjoyed the entire vibe of the town, the winter there and the main fenale character. This wile the story itself wasn't really that special. Still a solid 7.6/10.
Movie With The Most Gripping Plot Concept: While I only really watched parts of After Life as it was late and there was just a lot of dialogue to read while I got distracted thinking about the actual thought experiment the movie was about, I fully did grasp what It was trying to communicate really liking and relating to that. I don't thing I've come across a movie with a more intriguing plot summary. "After death, people have a week to choose only one memory to keep for eternity.". I scored it 7.5/10 just for the plot idea alone. This really made me a fan of Director Hirokazu Koreeda and I'm looking forward to more of his films.
Movies I found Overrated: The 2 famous 'blockburster" movies that I watched were The Burtalist which I want to see in the cinema as I knew it would be a 3.5 Hour torture at home getting distracted. I don't understand all the hype around it and scored it a 6.6/10 as I didn't hate it. I also Finally watched Dune Part 2 but I'm just not a fan of the entire dune universe and franchise not understanding why it gets such a monter score. I only gave it a 6.1/10 and I'm not planning to watch the 3rd one.
The Movie that for some might be a Hidden Gem: Is for sure Under The Silver Lake which is a movie that only gets 6.5 on Imdb but I would understand if it got closer to an 8/10 as some people will really digg a movie like this. For me it was ok and I gate it a respectable 7.2/10.
March 2025 Outlook
I still have a very long watchlist and high on it is A Silent Voice which I aim to watch in march if there is a moment when I'm ready for it. I'm also watching Severance Season 2 which I'm loving and will end in March. I haven't played any games recently but I kind of want to again even though I don't have that much time. I also aim to watch The Edge of Seventeen which I have been wanting to see for a long time. Mickey 17 from Bong Joon Ho who also made parasite I'm looking to go watch with a friend in the cinema some day in March.
Thanks :3
Bro, the votes you mentioned below are not automatic votes. They were sent manually by the Turkish community. This is just a curation trail. Just like Curangel, Curie, Ecency or OCD. When you get a vote, people who follow that trail also vote.
Oh, I assumed it was automated using something like hive.vote as they always come around the same time. Thanks a lot they really help a lot to get me going with this blog!
cheers,
