Severance Season 2 Review | When The Office Meets Black Mirror

To start this off I want to say that whenever a series get me to go to bed looking out for the moment that I wake up so the first thing I can do is to watch the new epsiode it really does something right! While it took some time to fully grow on me, by the end of the 2nd season this fully was the case as I really looked forward the entire week for the 75-Minute long season finale which on top fully lived up to my expectations.
Severance Season 1 Recap (Spoiler-Free)

Season 2 Does Even Better!
After having finished Season 2, it feels like the frist season was more something of a general introduction as it goes a lot deeper into many of the plotlines. It also had a lot more variation to it with multiple episodes taking place in different locations or time. It was also great to just watch 1 episode each week afterward checking some youtube videos that highlighted many of the details that I had missed. This show is just perfect for the Weekly Episode as it's just too much to binge watch and I would say to everyone who plans to watch it to take it rather slow instead of rushing through it.
The cinematography of this series is also just excellent all the way to the point that it often feels like a movie. The use of colors and camera angles is also top notch while the story itself and especially the moral and psychological implications of Serverance are just really interesting. They also explore every angle of them and there was a good balance between keeping the mystery while also giving enough answers. The end of the 1st season pretty much set up the main story arch of the 2nd season where you knew where things were going while the last episode really pulled it off and gave a great 'and what now' ending.
Conclusion
Serverance especially in the 2nd season really lived up to the hype around it and the main concept of the show is just extremely original, clever and interesting as something to keep thinking about from different angles. The Character devepoment also became a lot deeper as you now know so much more about each of them. They also really managed to bring excellent dynamics and scenes between the innies and outies especially in the finale. I highly enjoyed this season and am really looking froward to the renewed 3rd season. If a show that's a combination of The Office and Black Mirror with a lot of strange mystery is something that feels interesting to you, I would highly recommed giving this show a chance. 8.9/10
