Friday Night detective movies are a really enjoyable custom so it seems.
After watching Glass Onion then The Boys, now I continue the trend with the second installment of the famous detective Sherlock's spinoff, Enola Holmes.

Plot

After the success with her first case concerning the Lord Tooksbury _{(hope I spelt it correctly 😂)}, Enola Holmes goes on to open her first detective agency.
Her new case, although, is a rather tricky one. While battling against wits and the limitations set upon her by society because of her gender, would Enola be able to crack this case and bring forth justice?

I had watched the first season when it first came out 3 years ago and I have to say that I was intrigued and impressed. So immediately this season 2 came out, I just had to download it, although I didn't have chance to watch it untill today 😂.

This show like the last is one that goes to show that what men can do women can do too, if not better and it goes about proving that point in such a satisfactory way.

What I liked

- The difficulty of the case.

Now it's general knowledge that human beings love a puzzle. Something that doesn't look exactly how it seems on first glance.
This is how this case was for both me and the detective.
I'll have to say I did have an inkling of who the culprit might be, for one wrong thing the show did was continuously show us this person having a motive to do what she did.
Nevertheless it was still a confusing case, even for the genius Sherlock Holmes.

If Sherlock is confused.. who am I not to be confused?😂

- The Strong Theme Of Female Minority 🚫

Ofcourse this is the major theme of the story and what the character Enola Holmes is actually about.
The film being set in the time of the women suffrage movement in the late 1800, we get to see strong actions against women that are just.. damn😂
Enola was trained by her mom to rise over the constraints the society put upon her because of her gender and like she has been always doing, it's what she did here. We also get to see some characters who rose above these constraints, like the person of Mrs Cicely and even our main antagonist Mrs Moriarty.

- A fulfilling Ending ✨

This is something that is overlooked in most reviews. Yes the cinematography is good, the acting and casting, even the plot and weather may be nice, but how is the ending.
The ending of a film is those last few minutes before the viewer sees the ending credits. Thus it's the last impression a movie leaves on you, the last feelings you remember of a movie.
I'll have to say this show's ending was top notch.
We get to see Enola and Sherlock finally reduce the glare of their pride _{(mostly Enola cause girls pride is ___)} and decide to seek each other's company.
Not only that but the love interest between Enola and Lord Tewkesbury _{(learnt the spelling 😂😭)} had finally blossomed and they were going on dates or courtships or whatever they did in the 1800's.
Despite there being a minor cliffhanger as Moriarty escaped jail, I just hope that leaves a loose thread to be used and draw out another season, let's see what Enola gets to tackle next.
As one can see, it was a very fulfilling ending.

Overall Review

It's a wonderful movie, one filled with laughs, tense moments and moments of just sheer embarrassments - as Enola tends to get in plenty of these.
A movie suited for all ages, a family film, a real fun movie for Friday Detective Night.
I give it a 9 out of 10 stars and I urge those who may have not watched it to give it a view 💕.
