On this day in history; November 2nd 2012 – Space Shuttle Atlantis is towed from the VAB(Vehicle Assembly Building) at the Cape Canaveral Kennedy Space Center, Florida, to her final resting place, the main exhibition hall at Cape Canaveral where she will remain as a proud testament to a great program that once was.

After traveling over 126 million miles in space, and circling our earth four thousand eight hundred and eight times, Atantis embarked on a final 10 mile journey to take her place near the rocket garden where she remains to this day. The 12 hour, 10 mile journey was the very last, and the final act of the Space Shuttle Program.
