Film review - Hero - Art and music together
Hero - Film Review
Good afternoon, Movies & TV Shows community, I'm back with a recommendation that was made to me and I want to share with you. I discover in this Chinese martial arts movie and many artistic images a clear message about life and the warrior part of each one of us. I would make pictures with scenes of this movie, the artistic level is remarkable, although I do not inquire more about details behind what I see.
The movie has a very particular rhythm, taking us slowly through a very deep story that requires our attention, because of its twists and turns. Even so, we get into the story, our Hero, the King, the other warriors, and some extra characters, as well as all the King's army. We slowly get into a story of revenge, war, and incredible fights, with cool techniques and performances.
Without spoiling too much, what we understand is that our main character is presenting before the King of Qin, the swords of his victory over three enemies of the kingdom, as a trophy. This sequence is very clear, the first enemy is Long Sky, which is the name of his sword. And then against Broken Sword and Flying Snow, whose issue was concerning a past moment, where they break in and expose the King's safety, and spare his life.
As for the images and how this film is for me, an artistic work, are in my favorites, these four. Where the colors prevail and delimit the emotions, place us in a space and together with the music make these scenes a unique moment.
As for the plot, and with our main character less than 10 steps away from the king, he tells him how he achieved the defeat of the three, and gives an interesting twist, which opens the possibility of seeing the story that our hero tells, according to the King and his doubt about the veracity of some facts and when uncovering the story fantastic things happen, the turn that the story takes leads us to an ending that I believe necessary and remarkable, no matter how hateful it may have been. Accept those bitter endings, because the story deserves it.
The music on the other hand, as well as the sounds, are incredible, a subtle and dramatic way to put us in the character's situation, and give us distance when it is necessary. Towards the end of the film, the silences will also be key. I wasn't expecting much from this film, and it surprised me on levels I hadn't explored in a long time in terms of imagery that you can practically feel.
If you've seen it, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. Big greetings to all, see you in the next review.
