MY FAVORITE MOVIE

Battle on buka street is a 2022 Nigerian comedy and drama movie produced by Funke Akindele and Tobi Makinde, it's an interesting movie embedded with a lot of good morals to be learnt aswell. If you're bored I recommend this movie for you, it will surely lighten up your mood.

The movie is about the story of a polygamus family, the man had three wives but two amongst them (the first and the second wife) were very troublesome, always jealous of each other to the extent that they eventually transfer the rivalry and hatred to their children so they can continue.

Some of the cast; Shola Shobowale as Asake (the first wife), Tina Mba as Ezinne (the second wife), Funke Akindele as Yejide while Mercy Johnson as Awele, daughters of the first and second wife respectively.

Lets dive into the movie proper, okay the rivalry continued when Ezinne, the second wife wanted to give birth, the first wife also insisted she would give birth that same day too, what a blow... just because she knows she would have a better treatment from the husband, they prefer being on the same level, no cheating whatsoever.

It's like a competition, any success of one would trigger the other but the method mostly used is not always a good one, she was pregnant too anyways but her delivery time was not due so she request for a cesarean section, so weird right... I thought have seen it all at this juncture but no, the rivalry between the two children after their birth was even more greater than their mothers.

They grew with this bitterness and hatred, it was time for them to get married... Yejide, the daughter of the first wife chose a day for her wedding not knowing that the second wife and her daughter were also secretly planning to do theirs too on the same day, lo and behold the wedding was held the same day with alot of commotion. They are just like cat and rat, tormenting each other every now and then.

After their wedding, Awele had to relocate to her husband's place but came back with her children after having issues she can no longer cope with in her marriage.

Since Awele's departure, Yejide has already started a restaurant, she sells Yoruba dish and she's doing very well already but suddenly Awele came back and without wasting time, she started her rivalry again by opening her shop opposite Yejide's shop selling the same type of dish. Of course having shop very close to each other was the beginning of another round of war. It was from one trouble to the other, looking for means to snatch each other's customers, to the point that Awele's shop got burnt in the process, an act that was orchestrated by Yejide's daughter.

Finally it was time for Awele's revenge when her child was rescued by Yejide's son after sustaining injuries from a youth carnival.
Prior to this time, a prison break occured at the maximum prison which Yejide's husband that has been jailed for a very long time happen to be one of those that escaped. So Yejide kept him (the husband) somewhere far away from town, so as to keep him safe from police who has already declared the prison breakers wanted.

Yejide's son had to take Awele's son to where they were hiding their father, she was taken care of though. Awele who had been searching for her daughter later found out where they were hiding, now it was her time to take revenge of all the things Yejide and her mom has been doing for her family by reporting to the community youth who will either take justice into their hands or hand them over to the police. But she let go and forgive them after so much pleading and because they also helped revive her daughter that was unconscious due to the injury sustained at the carnival.

This made the two families come together as one and they also let bygone be bygone, they forgot all the issues that was between them all along, to start on a fresh note with love.

Morals: Learn to forgive those that offend you, and moreso, there's power in unity, before the two families came together as one it has been from one problem to the other but since they came together, they know peace. Remember it's very easy to break a single broom stick but very difficult to break a bunch of it. United we stand, divided we fall.
