ENGLISH

Greetings to all, in this beautiful Ladies of Hive Community. Heeding the call of this contest number 230, today I return to participate. Here I share this week's invitation. Thank you @irenenavarroart for these great questions!

This time I will answer the first question of the contest: What was your favorite TV show as a child, and why did you like it? Do you think it influenced your personality in any way as an adult?

Ever since I was little, I've had very specific and well-defined tastes. For example, I loved The Beatles, even though Mom always played me music in Spanish and tried to get me to learn nursery rhymes. And no, ever since I was very little (less than two years old), whenever a Beatles song came on the radio, I would run out to hear it and hum it. It may seem strange or exaggerated, but that's a very clear memory I have from my childhood. Sure, Mom had a collection of Beatles vinyl records, which she would listen to sometimes, but I wanted to hear them every day.

Just as I knew what my favorite music was, I also knew which TV shows I liked. While we kids weren't allowed to watch much TV at home, there were certain allowances for cartoons and some TV series or programs. I'm talking about the 1970s, when I was very young, there was no cable TV, the television offering in Venezuela was very limited, and black-and-white televisions were common in homes, and the concept of the internet hadn't yet been conceived. Now, among the programs I was allowed to watch was Star Trek, which I loved because those journeys through the galaxies and the encounters with beings from other worlds seemed astonishing, yet feasible. I also loved the character of Dr. Spock, with his sharp intelligence and great calculating skills.

The special effects on that show were really basic, but at the time, they were top-notch, so I found it very entertaining, as each new episode was a new adventure, a new world. Looking back, it may be a bit simplistic, but at the time, it was my favorite TV show, and every Wednesday (if I remember correctly), I would sit in front of the TV at 6:00 p.m. to enjoy a new episode of Star Trek.

As for whether Star Trek influenced me, I can say that perhaps it did, but I think my choice for that type of program came from within, not the other way around. Let me explain: I chose to watch programs like Star Trek (I also watched Lost in Space, The Jetsons, and others like that) because I believed that life outside of this planet was possible (I still do). And the basis for this belief was undoubtedly my father, because I clearly remember lying with him at night in a hammock in the backyard of my house at the time, and he would show me the stars, the constellations, and tell me how to differentiate the brightness of a star from the brightness of a planet. He explained to me that on those planets there were people like humans, just as there were different beings, with distinct natures and appearances. I think this naturally led me to choose Star Trek, and it has also allowed me to keep an open mind about so many technological and scientific changes and cosmic discoveries.

Here I conclude today's post, in which I shared my memories of my favorite TV show from my childhood. I bid you farewell, wishing you much health, prosperity, and joy. Remember: Not every day is the same, and more importantly: Everything you give, everything you do, will inevitably come back to you. Hugs!/center>

Gracias 😊🤗

You loved The Beatles as a child, that time was really fun. But your mother used to sing to you in Spanish, really a memory. But learning rhymes was a great magical time of childhood for you. In addition to sharp intelligence and loving the characters of Dr. Spot, it was really fun. But there was a time when our country also had black and white television. I never imagined that there was color television. And there was no idea about the internet system. It is true that we used to watch cartoons on black and white TV back then. Although I used to watch television secretly many times with my parents' permission. Your hard work and beautiful questions and answers are really great. But as a child, I loved to watch adventure films during some of your favorite happy times. Distinguishing the brightness of stars and the brightness of planets is a great skill. You enjoyed it a great skill sitting outside with your parents and looking at the stars. Welcome to this great TV show competition for you. Of course, you speak some great languages that listening and watching lead me to education.

However, no matter how many mistakes we make towards our parents, they forgive us. No matter how many mistakes, known or unknown, remain in the human heart in the form of intense pain. thank you so much mam

Certainly that decade of the 70's TV was black and white, it is touching how your father showed you the stars, the constellations, and explained about the planets, as you say, that has influenced you to keep an open mind in the face of so many changes, thank you for sharing your experiences,

My father was a very special person. I suppose he's there now, too, in the stars, looking down on me.

Thank you for your kind comment @cautiva-30

Star Trek was an incredible series, I liked it quite a bit, although after a while they didn't show it anymore. I know it was one of those programs that were shown very early in the morning 😊

It was certainly a wonderful program, one that still endures. And perhaps because you're younger than me, when you were a child, they aired that show very early in the mornings. When I was a child, they almost aired it during prime time.

Thank you for your comment. Greetings @irenenavarroart
