Cabrini 2024: An Exciting Journey into History

The story of Francesca Cabrini began in the 1988 when she and seven other woman took the religious vows and founded the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, since that moment she was known as Frances Xavier Cabrini she took that name for Francis Xavier the patron saint of missionary service. Mother Cabrini was determined to travel as a missionary to China and insist with that idea to the Pope, one day after many request the Pope confirmed to her that she will travel but not to China instead of that she will travel to America more specifically to New York were lived Italian immigrants, she accept and her journey began. At the moment that she arrived to New York a cruel reality posed in front of her, there was poverty, discrimination, illness, no education and hunger, as determined she started a hard work to brings shelter to every person she can help and with her faith she kept in mind that she was a woman but with the most powerful support that a woman can have the love, guide and the mercy of GOD. She also realized the huge contrast of the city while in her side the people was dying of hungry and sickness at the other side was richness. Mother Cabrini start something huge huge in her community like creating orphanage to the children and with that she start calling the attention of the Mayor of the City trying to stop her labor but at the end recognizing her hard work and helping her in the process. This story will show her life of fight and faith that the audience will enjoy.

Cabrini is an inspiring biographical drama based on the life of the Catholic missionary Francesca Cabrini portrayed by Cristiana Dell’Anna, directed by Alejandro Gómez Monteverde and written by Rod Barr. The movie was filmed in the western New York and also in different locations of Rome, Italy, the production team work hard filming in multiple locations, resulting in a more convincing cinematic experience. The direction of Montenverde was spectacular, the director pay attention in every little detail of the movie giving in that way more authenticity to the cinematography, the cast provide an exquisite performance especially Cristiana Dell’Anna as Mother Cabrini.

Cristina Dell’Anna protayed the main character Mother Cabrini a strong woman of faith, Dell’Anna is an Italian actress recognized by the role of twins Micaela and Manuela in the TV Series Un Posto al Sole 2012 and Patrizia Santore in the crime series Gomorrah 2015. David Morse take the role of Archbishop Corrigan, Morse has a long list of roles through his long carrier that start in the 80’s but just for some of his roles there is Detective Michael Tritter in TV Series House M.D. and worked in movies such as The Green Mile 1999 and The Negotiator 1998. John Lithgow is Mayor Gould, the actor has many recognition’s and Oscar nominations through his career but is mostly recognized by his role in the TV Series 3rd Rock from the Sun as Dick Solomon he also won a Golden Globe for the role of Arthur Mitchell in the TV Series Dexter.
