Land of Bad (2024) - Mission Goes Wrong, Drone Rescue Operation

Land of Bad is an action movie that hits the big screen on February 16, 2024. The director of this movie is no other than William Eubank who has directed two movies of my preference Underwater and Broken City, not so popular movies but I still like them, he is also a co-writer with screenwriter David Frigerio for Land of Bad. The movie is inspired by life real JTACs (Joint Terminal Attack Controllers) where a team of Delta Force operatives face dangerous ambushes in hostile territory, depending on an Air Force drone pilot to survive, the trailer reminded me of some other two of my favorite movie Lone Survivor and also Behind Enemy Lines not that Land of Bad will compare to this other two great hits because from the cast and director this is a movie that comes with no promises attach, but still for all the combination of action, survival and tension behind the mission that this lieutenant of the US Armed Forces must fulfill might be a very entertaining one, time fly by, it seems crazy that Lone Survivor is a decade old and Behind Enemy Lines is two decades old.

The cast, well the cast of Land of Bad is made up of some good actors like as Liam Hemsworth from the Hunger Games movie and Independence Day, he is currently within the top 250 on IMDB but most important Russell Crowe who we have previously seen in great action movies like Gladiator and Justice League although I was not so happy with his last work The Popes Exorcist it was more of a comedy to me but still entertaining, for the most part he will be fighting from his desk where he controls a drone that will assist the crew and try to bring them back home.

William Eubank, who directs this movie, is recognized for his skill in the science fiction and thriller genres. He began with the movie Love (2011), showing the struggle of an astronaut in orbit, and then directed The Signal (2014). , exploring the mysteries intertwined with three college students and a cryptic hacker, his recent work, Underwater (2020), so his work so far has not been astonishing to the point that from the trailer we can guarantee this is going to be a hit although it has all the characteristics to be a good movie from the entertaining point, lots of shooting, lots of explosion, a cast that is familiar to action movies, lots of hiding on the jungle to survive on top that this is almost a two hour movie, 1h 50m by IMDB information. With Land of Bad, Eubank in my opinion is doing a radical change compare to his previous work since in the past it has been Sci-Fi for the most part and this time will be an explosion every 15 minutes most likely.

The trailer of Land of Bad will get your eyes peal for all the explosion and what Kinney has to go through to survive, there are scenes that shown he has been capture after the mission goes wrong and then running through the jungle as he escapes while a recovery team probably looking for him, there are also the visual effects and the aerial combat of the drone that "Reaper" operates, I have a problem with that name sounds just too fake but that's the kind of name a killer drone operator would have; it is based on real events a weak point as always when it comes to how accurate it is going to be, still sounds like an ambitious project with an estimated cost of more than 250 million dollars and faces some tough competition on the same field of action movies for 2024 with the release of others like Rebel Moon Part 1 & 2 and Dune Part 2, 2024 is not going to be an easy year for awards coming next year with all the amount of content that is going to flood your screen all this movies competing for attention and recognition at the ticket office, besides people will compare it to other Delta Mission movies related as I did from the moment I saw the trailer, other great hits like Lone Survivor, American Sniper and Zero Dark Thirty.

I really hope this movies does well, it will all come down the actors and script since we know the action scenes are there, I also notice some sick POV takes from the drown, promises to be an exciting adventure that honors the brave JTACs who risk their lives every day to guarantee the security of the United States, this is a job that comes with a lot of risk, remember that long INTENTIONAL fall from the mountain on Lone Survivor? I have always thought of the training this guys go through. Land of Bad also got some talented cast and the viewers will be demanding from them as for some this is a great opportunity to shine in 2024, I'm not sure if it will be a box office success but at least I'm looking for a high 7 performance from 1/10 but I do hope it turns out to have unforgettable story like many other movies of the same genre that I'm a fan of, this is coming down February 16 so not too far from now.
