Peter Five Eight (2024): Hitman with controvery and a stwist

Peter is a hit man that has been assigned to a new mission, he has to hunt Brenda a woman who lives a real state in a beautiful and peaceful town but that is necessary because she has information that Peter boss needs, a boss that has a lot of power but prefer to stay in the shadows. Peter arrived at the town and present himself like a single person looking for a property where he can live, he contact Brenda the woman that he is chasing for helping to rent the house but not much time pass when Peter revealed himself and start a race in the town to catch Brenda, during that chasing are going to be explosions, gun shut, car races and many things in Peter’s life will begin to emerge as his alcoholism and also things of the community will emerge as well because not everything is what it seems, this town hide lies that will be uncovered and Peter will be discovering everything.

Michael Zaiko Hall is expert in visual effects that has credits in movie such as The Good Dinosaur 2015, Pacific Rim 2013 and Prometheus 2012, he also has acclaimed in animated films like Inside Out and Incredible 2 solidifying his reputation. As a director Zaiko Hall delivered different works such as Hotel Dunsmuir 2020, it is a drama horror thriller, The Villains that is an adventure story with some comedy and Carrion 2020, confirming to the audience that the director can adapt in various genres. Now Michael Zaiko Hall is the director of Peter Five Eight a story about a hit man with no feelings that only live to complete his job and with this movie he wants to attract a big audience that enjoy his work.

Kevin Spacey leads the cast as Peter, despite his controversies the actor is making his return to the big screen. Spacey has a long filmography which one that has make him earned of many awards and also be recognized as a top tier actor, some of his roles has been a con man in The Usual Suspects 1995 for which he received an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actor and also he portrayed Lester Burnham in American Beauty 1999 for which received an Academy Award for Best Actor, he has also earned a Bafta Award, a Golden Globe Award a Tony Award and two Laurence Olivier Awards, he was named an honorary Commander and Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2010 and 2015. Rebecca De Mornay plays Brenda, her performance as Lana in the movie Risky Business of 1983 marked her carrier with positive acclaimed,she is also known for her roles in The Slugger Wife 1985 and The Hand that Rocks the Cradle 1992. Jet Jandreau’s portrays Sam, Jandreau is a German-American actress who started her career in Austria and is known for her performance in the movie The Trail, Hotel Dunsmuir and The Vigilante. Jack Weber plays Lock, Weber is an actor known for his role as Michael in Dawn of the Dead and for his role as Drew in Meet Joe Black.

The journey of this movie has been full of controversy for the inclusion of Kevin Spacey in the cast but the director stood firm in his decision despite the criticism and acknowledging that it is important to separate the movie from the actor personal life. The filming began in September 2021 in Siskiyou County, California without any inconvenience and delivering the movie in the time settled.

The movie Peter Five Eight follow Peter that is hit man who received a new mission that will lead him to quiet and peaceful town where he is going to locate his target a woman named Brenda who works like a real state agent but that in deep of his life possess a dark side of it. Peter and Brenda start a cat and mouse chase through the town change the life of it with the care chases, explosions, gun shot and blood that is spread in this race. With Kevin Spacey in the main role this movie the audience is going to decide if Spacey can received a second chance in his career after all the accusations against him. A movie that has action, a hit man with no soul and a woman that hide more in her life that what we can see.

I will watch this movie just to reconfirm that Kevin spacey is a great actor, despite his personal life situation and all the controversies he has been involved, I am intrigue to see what Spacey is still capable to do as an actor and probably could be a good return for him. The director is also a person that doesn’t let anybody intimidate him and stood firm with his decision of has Spacey in the cast and with the main role, that is admirable. Definitely a movie to watch and enjoy because the plot seem to be enjoyable.

Peter Five Eight is a story that is bringing more attention for the cast of it, having back a Kevin Spacey that seems to deliver a great performance with a story full of twist and a good director, despite the attention that is having for Spacey, the movie is full of action with a interesting plot and good performances, also with a beautiful visual for the place where the movie was film. Hope that the audience judge the movie what it is and not only for the performance and life of Kevin Spacey.
