Sugar (2024): Boy in the Corner - Season 1 - Episode 5 - RECAP

At this point in time Sugar (2024) is already in Episode 6, I'm a bit behind since I have been working on another project although I kept up to date with watching the episodes, this series is going to have a serious turn of events that will make everything strange and for some people probably ridiculous and other events that will make everything make sense. Episode 5 is the everything make sense episode, previously Mr. Siegel had some sort of heart attack after news came out that his grandson Davy or David has been accuse of sexual harassment almost the cherry on top of their current family situation with Olivia missing and Davy has been falling into a a reflection space, I think he finally realize how piece of shit he has been to everyone specially women, specially his half sister Olivia so he decides to come up front and talk to Sugar who is still fixed on finding Olivia at all costs, we get news on Stallings too but the only variant at the moment that makes no sense at all is Ruby and their organization, why they don't want Sugar to know about Stallings and what is their business with Stallings?

On previous episodes we have seen Davy mother Margit talk about Olivia and their current situation although not so decided to cover up for Davy, the cat is out the bag, everyone knows Davy is a piece of shit now after he got publicly accused Taylor, well I assume it was her after her talk with Sugar. On this episodes they still give us shots of how of a creep Davy is thinking that all women around him would be interested, he grew up around fame so he thinks everyone is interested on him.

One key aspect of this episode that is letting me to believe there is some beef between Jonathan and Bernie is that Sugar found a room at Jonathan house while visiting, it was his wife room, in there he found a dress and a couch just like the one that show up on Olivia's mother pictures, this let me to believe that Jonathan had an affair with his son's wife? this could be a very serious problem that they just keeping under the rug, after all Bernie divorce her at some point in time.

While Davy was burred in this moment of self pity, recognizing everything wrong he has done in the past Sugar went to his house, he is fixed on the idea that Davy knows where Olivia is, for some reason Davy and his bodyguard has been following Sugar since day one they find out about him looking for Olivia. Turns out Sugar was right, he starts talking with Davy mother that gave him a lot of nonsense bullshit until Davy decided to come up front and talk to him, explain him how he had business with Stallings although he did not say it straight up, he was basically going around the bushes with the conversation but Sugar kept asking him questions until he start to give up, tells Sugar how Stallings use to get women for him, prostitutes that were initially brought by Stallings to USA, he is into human trafficking and is a complete psychopath as we already know so did Davy mention it, problem is he made Olivia a target after Davy told Stallings his problem with Olivia how she was pushing Taylor to accuse him with the police now this were only Davy words and it is assume that Stallings is the one who disappear or kidnap Olivia and why not, she could be turn into another of his prostitutes although this are all theories and nothing has been proven, this conversation with Sugar left Davy in a very very bad place because Sugar made him realize how because of him probably Olivia was taken away something he was trying to cover up from his conscience and now it has come back to hunt him and take him to an even darker place, taking desperate actions to make the remorse stop.

Fucking Ruby, she now has another of her secret meetings with a men that I would only guess is higher in the hierarchy of their secret group of spies, Ruby tells him about that how Sugar might find about certain things their organization has been doing and how she is not down with it neither to what he answer they are just observing, I have always had the question in my mind "Who are they?" but now comes to mind "Why, Who or What are they observing?" , but all he says its necessary and instruct her to cover it from Sugar and do what ever it takes to make it happen.

Last to mention it is confirm, something that is starting to happen how it has been confirm that Davy is a creep and he is the reason why Olivia is missing, indirectly but still; it has been confirm now that Stallings is into human trafficking and getting girls from this people that he transport most likely illegally from one place to another, the pick up the young and pretty girls from the group and put them on a Van, all this is done by force so the assumption at hand is that he took Olivia and the organization Ruby and Sugar work for know about this and are just "observing".

I think a second season is happening at this point, I don't see how this story can be solved in three more episodes and I hope its not the case because it would feel rush, we are starting to uncover things, make them tangible, this are not rumors anymore and assumptions are starting to materialize but what is not so clear is to what point or who else knows about Olivia in the Siegel family and now another question comes up with what Sugar found at Jonathan's wife room, the dress, the couch, same set where Olivia's mother pictures were taken but on a previous Episode when Sugar show this photos to Bernie he said he did not take those, so who did. Some answers start to show up but then more questions start to pop up, as usual there are certain aspect or details I don't mention to avoid spoilers and only center in the structure of the story to find those hints that let us to the outcome of the episode.
